  1. Yeah, but so what ? Does anybody really care ? People steal cars. If they were really easy to steal and not get caught, I still wouldn't steal one.
  2. I wonder what the point is to worry about piracy. It's not as if people insensitive enough to steal from others will suddenly start paying for software if piracy is no longer possible. And what could pirates possibly produce with their loot that would be of any value to humanity.
  3. Why I keep bringing them up is that their products are still being sold by Plugin Boutique, but there's no way to use them.
  4. It is when the company goes out of business. Take SoundSpot for example...
  5. I've never finger drummed before, but two fingers on one hand (on keyboard) is all you need with this thing to sound like an epic movie. Didn't even know my fingers had it in them. It's a pretty simple instrument so probably not enough for most people. But the sound...
  6. As scook pointed out recently, and something I've lived with, if your version of Windows is non-english, then you'll have junctions all over the place to connect non-english system folder names with their underlying english equivalents (I have 9 junctions just in my main user's home folder). So adding junctions may create more than one level of redirection. I don't know what the risk or penalty is for that. I use symlinks and junctions, but sparingly.
  7. Thanks for this, Larry. While checking out, I was also offered Hidden Path Audio's TRANZFORM library, also for 9$, which I wasn't able to resist either.
  8. I keep thinking of the developer(s) /owners whose work was taken over by these buyouts. If you're getting on in your years, or just want to move on to something else, why not sell out for some clean cash and leave all the hassles to someone else. What's less clear to me is what's in it for the one doing the buying. Seems all they get for their trouble is a bad rep.
  9. There even seem to be videos that must have been generated by some automatic process. When I'm looking for info on soft synths I have to wade through weird videos where different automaton voices (usually female) are just reading from some marketing script. Don't know what the point is, unless it's just ad revenue, but I block them.
  10. Could be a few of us in that boat. I know I am.
  11. And you have to kill it (daemon) after use or it'll hog your cpu doing nothing at all.
  12. I'm not sure it's in the same league as those other ones, though I've only used it a bit very recently. I don't much like the UI. I'd like to get my hands on LFO tool, been waiting for it to go on sale, if it ever does.
  13. I'm seeing 49.99$ for Tantra 2. EDIT: OK, forgot the coupon. 29.99.
  14. That's up to marketing !
  15. Paul P

    DS Audio Thorn

I bought it yesterday from Plugin Alliance (24.99 for the next 15 hours). Still available.
  16. I really like the idea. Didn't know something like this existed. Real plugins with real buttons. Wow.
  17. This is also close, but not quite : Edit : Ah, I just discovered that fs = 1/Ts, so real close. What remains is why w and a are different terms.
  18. Having nothing to do, I tried to find it. This is pretty close : But not quite. Still, must be something related to signal processing. But I'm also interested in the Truth.
  19. I've so far resisted, but only because the above image kind of blows my mind. I don't know where to start to figure out what's going on.
  20. I always wondered how others could apparently see something while all I saw was a sequence of digits 352396313_744113914152675_51892183825593 Until a few days ago when I tried right clicking and open image in new tab (firefox) and finally get the image. I got most of the way through a post pleading for help when I figured it out.
  21. The one thing I hated about windows10 and kept me on 7 until last year was the square-cornered windows and minimalist detail which I find so harsh. Then w11 comes along with rounded-cornered windows (and looks so much better for it, though still minimalist) and I can't install it on my otherwise powerful tower pc. (I guess because I was brought up on scandinavian design which abhors corners and edges).
  22. After more emails, I finally got PB to admit that there's a problem with SoundSpot and they say they'll give the situation high priority to get it fixed. (while they continue to sell SS products).
  23. Larry's link is for two machines, the 505 and the V +. The 505 alone is 79$. And I see the Xils-lab PolyKB III is currently 49$ at JRR.
  24. Now if it would only run on my machine...
