  1. Plus they seem to never get the DAW right with all of those updates.
  2. Hopefully IK never goes that route but they are also in the hardware business. If Waves reverts back I doubt there will be enough forgiveness. Nothing like giving the end user a large middle finger. Another reason for them not to revert back is stuffed shirts wont give up their pride. We often overlook the plugins in our DAWs. What is also overlooked is now there will be an increase of piracy. Hackers like challenges. Small developers are where it's at. See Boz, TGR, Melda, and of course Fab Filter.
  3. Photoshop/Lightroom was $10. There are probably more people in your neighborhood who use that than a DAW. Stuffed shirts thought "hey let's try that". I could see if Waves did a $29 a month sub to access everything some would go for it. Who knows maybe the rent to own is the nest frontier. BTW that's done with our credit cards anyway. Splice offered rent to own.
  4. On sale as well. A developer worthy of plugin hoarding. BTW how many developers would spend time to fix a plugin to work in Bandlab.
  5. You don't know the meaning until you've heard me play a violin.
  6. I like Riffer. I can't complete the Suite for this price direct. BTW their products have lifetime free updates.
  7. This is really a bad habit many have. There are free/affordable plugins out there that rival the best. See Waves, PA, TDL and of course people use Bandlab as their main DAW. I don't think this was created to rival VSL and Cinebrass. I call these template savers. You could load 20 instances of brass libraries or choose this. On a side note I really need to lay off this forum for at least a week. I just bought this.
  8. My dream is that there's a critical review channel for games. It brings out all of the negatives. I often wonder if our expectations are too demanding from sample libraries. Then there are some real duds.
  9. I guess a vendor gave out false info. Unfortunately I think some vendors will suffer whose main sales are Waves like EveryPlugin.
  10. Unfortunately stuffed shirts make decisions by looking at a spread sheet. They are rarely users or knowledgeable of their products. This is nothing new under the sun. This also helps smaller developers gain more market if they avoid such nonsense. If the sub model becomes a norm there will also be those who go against it. I remember the iLok craze at the turn of the century which developers used to lock down their stuff. It didn't take IK long to ditch that. We fail to see that many developers have a sub model and it's been around for a long time. They don't throw it your face. Some may like a Waves sub since they have a zillion plugins and if the price is right. What worked for Adobe is the price of PhotoShop and Lightroom were affordable to the average consumer and more people like to edit photos than use DAWs. This is what the stuffed shirts don't get. The DAW market is far more competitive then it ever was. Plus DAW developers are also making top notch plugins that come in their DAWs. This will take the hobbyist out of the picture.
  11. That's splitting hairs. Developers never do that. If I bought a loaf of bread for $4 and it's $3 next week I don't demand a refund. You'd be surprised the price drop of PC games after 3 months. If Waves and PA did that they'd go broke.
  12. I stopped buying from this developer since you couldn't put the samples on another drive. It may have changed on some products.
  13. Wait to see the 4TB SSD prices drop some more. Kontakt version there is no machine limit while Soundpaint there's two.
  14. https://www.lootaudio.com/category/kontakt-instruments/Klang These were once free instruments. I like this one but I have it. https://www.lootaudio.com/category/kontakt-instruments/Klang/symphonic-black-wood-flow

  16. The new one is just under 1TB. They got away from editions with new products. Many times they are on sale.
  17. If you want to hoard this one might be useful https://www.lootaudio.com/category/kontakt-instruments/divergent-audio-group/chordscape-kontakt
