  1. Question of Clarification: Is the IK BX-3 being used in standalone mode? If so, use it as a plug-in within Cakewalk. As others have said, more details are needed so others can better point you in the direction of making it happen with your setup and workflow.
  2. Interesting. FZ had conceptual continuity references to Laurel Canyon but I knew very little about it. Thanks for the link to this video. UPDATE (after Episode 1 finished): JMO: Would be nice if Peace and Love would finally surpass Divisiveness and Hate in the Court of Public Opinion. The hour is late. We might never see it happen. But perhaps Hope and Dreams are not dead.
  3. FYI, in case some one stumbles onto this request for the ability to replace FX and doesn't keep track of ongoing updates: As of November 2022 there have been several recent Releases, Early Access Releases, and Updates which give us some additional FX bin options, including: Improvements Replace audio effect You can now replace audio effects from track or bus effect bins. To do so, right-click an effect and select Replace Audio FX, then select the desired effect. Enhancements: Quick group support for track effect bin Delete command Delete All now available in effect bin menus Thanks to everyone who requested and re-requested the replace audio FX feature over the years, to @msmcleod for following up on this, to those who suggested enhancements, and to all who made it happen. BTW, do users who make FRs mark them "Implemented" (maybe with the date of the release) on the Topic line like when problems are marked "SOLVED"? See
  4. NOTE: Voltage Modular has been updated (not a deal, except maybe for Mac users who have been waiting for support for the new Mac OS) .
  5. According to PG Music's chat desk its SynthMaster Player version 2.9 with 800 presets.
  6. https://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/TRS https://www.acronymfinder.com/TRS.html OH!!! TRS Cables, not Midi TRS world. LOLOLOLOLOL. End of LOL 😜
  7. I see SynthMaster 2 was free until November 1 and that Plug-in Boutique currently has it for $5.00. (1) For a lower price (free), you would have to check with KV331 or third-party resellers. (2) Also, keep an eye on the "Deals" sub-forum here. https://www.synthmaster.com/synthmasterplayer.aspx If it were me, I'd ask KV331 Audio if they will be having the free promotion again
  8. OK. I just looked at your first post and the discussion that followed. I remember my reaction and the reason I gave it a "Confused" emoji. On the one hand it looked like you were asking an honest question seeking information about CbB as compared with other DAWs. At the time I sensed your frustration but wasn't entirely clear on a number of things about what you wrote. So I gave the "Confused" emoji as I have done with others in hopes that you would re-read your post and try to clarify it. I remember not even knowing how to respond in a helpful way. Not 100% sure, but I seem to recall being one of the first to reply (by virtue of the emoji). After that, others chimed in and addressed what seemed to be an "attitude." At that point I decided to try to (1) acknowledge the "attitude" and (2) cast a positive tone by moving in the direction of seeking specific clarifications: You will notice that I ended on a positive note with an attempt to smooth out the tone of the thread: That was a sincere expression of hope which I remember struggling with to try to get you to acknowledge your combativeness and at the same time to try to help turn the tone of the thread around. As much as I'd like to take credit for all the positive, well-meaning comments and suggestions that followed, I can't. The people who chimed in to help probably didn't even read my post!!! However, my initial reply back then (a) acknowledged the hostility and (b) was intended to be helpful in a positive way. My use of the "Confused" emoji was a sincere expression of confusion. And I remember being glad when others chimed in as I predicted by "helpfully offering serious suggestions." As for the current thread, I still think you were wrong when said I was trying to make you look like a fool. Now that I re-read the first thread, I can understand the basis for your attitude. As I wrote above, our workflows are different and if the box I mentioned had been checked, unchecking it could have helped. That was and is the extent of my ability to help with this issue and I still defer to others for additional diagnostic and workflow suggestions. Peace!
  9. Sorry if you thought I was being toxic because of some disagreement you had with someone previously. I will look that up and if that was me, I will apologize. I will admit that if you honestly misunderstood my good intentions in my original reply based on your prior experience, that is unfortunate.
  10. Correction to my previous post: I added the word "of" between "expression" and "optimism."
  11. I was going to add, "I hope this helps" to my last post that supported your possible misunderstanding of Bradley Magee's comment, but after I posted it, I saw you had given me a thumbs down to a well-intentioned, well-meaning, positive attempt to help you problem solve. Because you accused me of trying to make you looks like a fool alleging that I edited my post to make you look like a fool, I thought to myself, "Don't edit the post." I hope you can see that I was being supportive of your misinterpretation. And if I edited the post to add some optimism ("I hope this helps.") you would probably think I added that line to make you look like a fool. To be honest, at the time I wanted to add the expression optimism to the support for your misinterpretation, it was sincere, but now I am really annoyed that you accused me of trying to make you out to be a fool.
  12. (1) I didn't imply you were. If you thought I was saying you were a fool, that's unfortunate. (2) In the full version version of the post, I had the word, "If" before "Allow Only One Open Project at a Time" is checked, uncheck it." (3) I added the line, "Maybe this will help." (4) There was a first version before that which got submitted because I accidentally hit "Submit."
  13. Yup; that's why I said "If 'Allow Only One Open Project at a Time' is checked, uncheck it." As a test, I just unchecked it on my PC and was able to load three different projects and switch among them. I always just work with one project open at a time. Since this is not working for you, I will defer to others for additional diagnostic and workflow suggestions.
  14. Your workflow is different from mine, so I cannot suggest good methods to do what you want. I will leave that to others who have more experience doing the kinds of things you do. I am only chiming in related to the quotes I cited above. 1. Check [ P ]references > File > Advanced. 2. If "Allow Only One Open Project at a Time" is checked, uncheck it. Maybe this will help.
  15. Finally!!!! I have been waiting a long time for more people to agree. Thank you, Sir.
  16. I got the "its in stock" e-mail that says "Special price: $125.00." So the $62.50 must be with the 50% off discount. I need to check to see if they will be giving me it for the price I paid before they corrected the error ($4.99), if they have given me a credit for the ($4.99), or if they took an additional $121.01 from me without my permission. I doubt they made a mistake and gave me back $499. Since it says the order was completed but I was never sent the actual serial number from I might just be out the $4.99.
  17. If you mean Cherry Audio's Instruments (such as those in the SynthStack, no, but if you have the Plug-In Host and Mini Plug-In Host modules in Voltage Modular, VM can host those and many other 64-bit VST/VST3 Synths. These host modules are not in the free version of VM (Nucleus); they are in VM Core. See the comparison chart for what's included with each version of VM. If you mean the the Voltage Modular modules, yes, if you have an internet connection. When I boot VM, it does a server sync which updates my modules. If I purchase a module (including demos) and they don't get added immediately,** I press the update button on the top of the Library UI. **Under Settings > Account, there's a checkbox option to "Ask Before Updating Modules." I think that just for updated modules, not new purchases demos.
  18. For those that don't know, the CA Store Sort by Price: Low to High is not necessarily based on the current sale price (or your customized discounted price for bundles). For example, once the $10 level modules are reached, there will be modules on sale for $5, $7.99, $3.99, etc. interspersed among other $10 modules.
  19. You're welcome. BTW, I added about 8-10 more then accidentally hit Back in my browser and lost the Edit Reply Buffer. I will try again either later or tomorrow. For now, a few changes from the above list:
  20. Semantics? Absolutely!!!! 🙂 Whatever floats your plug-in window! 😜 On a serious note, there are some genuinely free VM modules that actually function--and not just blank panels (partial list). Bundles: https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/guitar-gig-bag-freebies https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/nonlinear-circuits-collection https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/r-ware-x-airwindows https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/dome-music-technologies-freebie-collection Modules: https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/patch-bay-10-poly https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/patch-bay-10-mono https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/mute https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/xy-to-polar https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/simple-amplifier https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/pb-midi-all-notes-off https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/fixed-dc-voltages https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/eyecandy https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/parallel-logic-gate-array https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/third-rail https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/116a-poly-stereo-output-amp https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/divide-and-conquer https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/cv-pitch-scaler https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/pitch-cv-octaver [others, too - I know I have picked up some other free modules (to be added as I find them)] I picked up a delay I really like; not sure if that was just free for a limited time or is still free I know I picked up a MIDI panic button for free; not sure if its still free. I seem to remember some others that might have been free when introduced. I have not listed a couple of distortion FX modules. I have not listed Blank Panels (those are easy enough to find). I have not listed some graphic things that I find use more PC power than most of the audio modules. WARNING: Some of these will tease you!!! 😉 Apologies if I accidentally listed some that either (1) aren't free and (2) cannot be used with modules you already own. I will double check on my older PC to verify that these are all currently free. Caveat: Don't blame me if you really like some of these module makers and spend more money than you would have if I hadn't posted it. BTW, I have no financial interest in CA, VM, or any of the third party module makers listed above.
  21. You might be right about them being intended as teasers, but my impression has been that they are intended as perks for those who already own the respective paid modules. I also wouldn't call free preset or free tutorials teasers. To me demos with limits (such as time and/or feature limits) are teasers because those give people a taste for what a full version does. I'd say that videos posted in forums, in YouTube, etc. which show the modules at work are also promotional teasers. As I understand it, the free modules are breakout boxes, remote access points, expansion boxes that don't do anything by themselves or in combination with modules other than the ones they are expanding. Not 100% sure, so I downloaded one and will try to make time to see if it can be used with anything else. Update: I tried the Serial Function Oscillator Expander. While it can take various non-playertron modules as inputs, so far as I can tell, the only place where the expander can be used is with the Serial Function Oscillator module. Of course, having a free module with a lot of connection points might inspire someone to purchase the base module or even other modules from the developer.
  22. Some of the Playertron freebies are designed for other Playertron modules. I just assumed that those are not really useful to people who don't own the modules for which they were designed. If you find otherwise, please let us know.
  23. This is another reason for me not to get Windows 11. With XP I used to have toolbars on all 4 sides of a single monitor. It worked for ages. But then some people with issues complained when they accidentally moved docked toolbars and they floated on the desktop and they had no idea how it happened and how to redock it. So MS called it a rogue feature created by some random developer and Windows 10 only allows docking on one edge of a monitor. So, since my monitor is wider than it is tall, ever since I have had Win 10, I use the height for content and the left edge for the taskbar. It seems a waste of valuable real estate to have it on the bottom. If you create a movement to get MS to stop deciding what is best for customers and getting rid of customer choices, let me know. How about a change.org petition?
