  1. In order to do things in a plugin like search for a preset or save or rename a preset, you have to be able to type that in. Unfortunately Cakewalk seems to impose an extra step on the user, that you need to first click on the keyboard icon in the plugin window to send keystrokes to the plugin. Wouldn't it make sense to have Cakewalk assume that if you have just clicked your cursor in a text box, that you want your text going to the plugin?
  2. Their Play-along series is great for the artists that they cover. One chapter covering the main parts of the song, one part a play through where you can see the instructor playing along with the tab, and one part full "Music Minus One" mode. Groove 3 is owned by Hal Leonard Publishing, so you have a huge collection of their instructional materials for a variety of instruments as well as songbooks. Every week they add more.
  3. Echo thief has some unusual impulses. You can use 7 zip to extract them from the exe to use in your favorite convo verb.
  4. I definitely agree that it still is a bargain to get the update for $99 as opposed to just Kontakt for $49. There is an awful lot that is included that I have already used. However, I think the Play series tends towards filler. I also think the expansions are as much trouble as they are worth if you don't have Maschine. It's nice that they throw in presets for Battery, Massive, and whichever, but they don't install them in a directory where any of those programs normally look for presets.
  5. I don't know if they have updated this, but earlier versions of the manual left out how to do Tap Tempo.
  6. All I want from them is two things 1. Ability to rout midi input in browser to tracks. Right now, if I try to audition a midi drum track in BW, it just plays a bunch of discordant sine wave tones. It's not like this is rocket science, in fact Project 5 figured this out over 20 years ago. 2. Support audio input on the WASAPI drivers.
  7. Oh, look, new icons for Kontakt and Native Access!
  8. It's also in Guitar Rig and FM8 (including the FX version)
  9. Hopefully just a week or two.
  10. You may have heard that Super 8 is being discontinued as a VST and is going back to being a Reaktor ensemble. The Reaktor version is now available from within Native Access for all owners of Super 8 or Komplete. https://community.native-instruments.com/discussion/8294/m1-update-status-of-fm8-super8/p4

    NI Feel It!

I highly doubt that the algorithms were written to determine if any loop comes from a royalty free library. Even if they were, google would have to invest in a lot of libraries to figure out that. I would also guess that the algorithms are focused more on melodic content because otherwise they would have a ridiculous amount of claims generated.
  12. It seems that many of the impulses in 80s spaces are taken from the same reverbs used in the Rematrix Studio Sessions series of reverb libraries (which I happen to have).
  13. Which does better Phil Collins drums, 80s Spaces or the IK Farm Room?
  14. One of the things I like is the piano roll image in the pattern browser. It's great because when you can see what the pattern looks like, you waste less time cycling through the patterns that don't look like what you want.
  15. If so then it is too late. It is 12:40 in Moscow as I post this.
  16. Moments? Is it coming out at midnight in Sweden?
  17. Waves has their own proprietary format but not all IR providers do. I think Melda uses standard wav files. EchoThief does use some unique standard wav files but you need to use something like 7zip to extract them from the executable. All the impulses in Reflektor are also standard wav.
  18. It's pretty much what you would expect it to be and has been pretty stable for me. If I am remembering correctly, the impulses are proprietary, but they are not alone in that. Also it would be nice if they had better preset organization. It would be nice to be able to tag these with attributes such as the general type (hall, plate, special, etc) as well as which instruments to use. Finally, once you purchase the full version you get a 20% discount going forward on all Rematrix preset packs. This stacks with sales, so you will probably end up tempted to buy presets during Black Friday. They also tend to throw in a few nice free packs every once in a while.
  19. I make whatever comes together when I sit at the computer. That does include lofi but not so much hip hop. For my lofi though I mostly put XLN's RC-20 on it. I'm really only asking about these tape sims because if I go with the 5 plugin bundle to get the 3 I want, that leaves two of the TEAC bundle for me to decide on.
  20. Other than the PortaStudio model sounds a little harsh and tinny on the cymbals and hats, I am not hearing a huge difference between the dry and processed sounds. Am I missing something or are these really that subtle?
  21. Don't forget that this isn't a NI sale, but a sale on their stuff through Best Service.
  22. It seems like all the regulars here are in that boat. Too bad there is no 7-pack.
  23. The point is that EZKeys is a unique tool that will help you generate MIDI keyboard parts that you might not have thought of or might not have been able to play. There are not a lot of other products out there that will do that. For people like myself who are working on their keyboard chops, it saves a lot of time and makes it possible to create things we might not have been able to play. I can't speak for how useful these compositional features are to a competent keyboard player, but if you have a guy named @abacab touting them...
  24. If you were to get five out of these products, which ones would you get? The Farm Stone Room Studio Reverb Joe Chiccarelli Vocal Strip FAME Studio Reverb TASCAM 388 TASCAM Porta ONE TEAC A-3340S TEAC A-6100 MKII
