  1. I think that the Playertron Remote and Expander are "teasers" for these 2 modules, on sale now: Countdown Loop Diffuser, $5.99 https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/countdown-loop-diffuser Serial Function Oscillator, $10.99 https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/serial-function-oscillator
  2. Does the VST2 version of that plugin have the same issue?
  3. It looks to me like the picture above shows Sylenth1 VERSION 3.
  4. I suppose it's all a matter of personal preference, and/or what libraries you use. Some folks say that they want to use Kontakt exclusively, others don't want anything to do with it. I'm somewhere in the middle. My preference is to use synths rather than sample libraries if I can, but for real instruments samples are a necessary evil. If I like a library, it usually doesn't matter to me what player it uses. Except for UVI... Cannot stand their player! 🙄
  5. I grabbed these for free a while back. They show up for me as "Owned" in the Cherry Audio Store. I don't see the word "demo" in the titles here.
  6. Installed! Does pretty much the same thing as the Softube Saturation Knob. You can crank the knob on Waves a bit higher before the distortion kicks in...
  7. I had a few hardware synths from KORG and Roland in the 90's. Paging thru menus from a tiny LCD screen using a few buttons was frustrating! So I ended up with a few PC based MIDI editor librarians to ease that pain and see a graphic synth UI of my hardware that I could tweak with a mouse. MIDI Quest 9 XL by Sound Quest was my last editor. Thankfully, I am now all in-the-box with virtual synths. But I'm inclined to pass on soft synths where the object seems to be to make the GUI as complex as possible. Maybe it's just my old eyes or that I'm losing my patience now, but I know what I like when I see it (or not)! And the virtual Wavestation is cool, but using it as a ROMpler preset machine is as far as I typically get with it. Never really took the deep dive into its wave sequencing level. I was hoping that the new Wavestate Native would make it easier to explore wave sequencing. Not for me, but maybe for some! IMO the wave sequencer itself is not bad, but the multi-page edit system for a single performance preset is a whole different story!
  8. On the upside, that doesn't need to be an either/or situation with Kontakt and Unify. I have the "Unified" version of NI Noire (Kontakt library) installed in Unify. So I can load any Noire preset as a layer in Unify, without having to launch the Kontakt interface (although Kontakt is running in the background and I can open its UI to tweak something in Kontakt if I want to). Much less screen clutter, and quicker to load & audition Kontakt presets straight from the Unify patch browser. Any Kontakt preset can be saved as a Unify preset.
  9. $50 for a slightly different "shimmer" than Shimmerverb? Maybe next year...
  10. That's the main point of the EZ line. Idea generator! For example, say you started with EZkeys (but you don't have to). Any melody would do. EZbass can match a MIDI pattern in its library using "tap-to-find" to play a rhythm or record a melody, or an imported MIDI clip (via MIDI drop zone). EZdrummer 3 can match up a library MIDI pattern with any MIDI or audio clip that you import (via Bandmate using guitar, bass, keys, or other), so you can quickly have a sketch of the melody, bass, and drums playing together in minutes. I would say that it's a bit more "organic" than Band-in-a-Box.
  11. Understood! My comments on Wavestate Native... Verdict: Not for me. I thought it would be on first run, but I'm out after trying the demo and skimming the manual enough to have an overview of the synth architecture. Pros: Great sounds, including 30+ presets contributed by John "Skippy" Lehmkuhl (PlugInGuru). This is a deep synth and likely a synth tweaker's paradise! Cons: Too many pages and tabs for me. I'm a visual person who prefers to see everything on one page, or at least as few as possible. This synth has 4 layers, each with 7 different tabs/pages, so up to 28 pages required to see the main elements of what's going on in a patch. Plus the ADSR envelopes are hidden away behind 3 tabs per layer, and the LFOs are hidden behind 4 tabs per layer. So 12 ADSR views and 16 LFO views! If I want a rabbit hole, I much prefer something challenging like Voltage Modular where I can see exactly what's connected to what! My favorite synths at the moment that can be fun to program are Phase Plant and Pigments, that are much more intuitive and visual. Although Pigments has a few pages, they are kept to a minimum. But Phase Plant wins for me with the one page design where you can see all with a bit of scrolling, and all modulations are revealed at a glance.
  12. 🤣🤣🤣
  13. Thanks, but I can wait for it as v1 still works fine. Probably shouldn't take them too long. Don't want to risk cluttering up v2.
  14. Unify would make organizing and using those other 10,000 VIs a bit easier. It's actual strength is as a plug-in host and patch librarian for your other VIs.
  15. Interview from the Pro Synth Network with the Cherry Audio team on their new GX-80:
  16. I believe that KC 3 is the sweet spot! The resizable UIs plus all the latest updates to the existing instruments.
  17. Ha! They just call them instruments in v2. They were "sound sculptures" in v1.
  18. I have a couple of the Valhalla freebies, but I have always wondered about Valhalla Shimmer. Already have the Eventide Shimmerverb and wonder how they compare...? Edit: Found this video comparison by PlugInGuru. Dang! Now it seems that I will need both of them! 🤣
  19. Still waiting for Atma, Frcture, & Orakle to be updated to v2... no emails here yet...
  20. $75.18 at JRR with code "GROUP". https://www.jrrshop.com/tracktion-novum
  21. Biotek2 was recently as low as $23.88 at AudioDeluxe back in October. Will probably be available again at some point. Probably not such a great deal at the moment.
  22. OK thanks. I just assumed it was a "one-time" deal. I used it once and then the coupon prompt was gone when I returned!
  23. In the shopping cart. The coupon prompt only shows up if you haven't used it yet. Once the coupon is used you will not see it again.
  24. I grabbed EZKeys Folk MIDI for $12, but haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I am just collecting the EZKeys MIDI as they go on sale. But I'm not buying any more EZkeys instruments until they upgrade the GUI. Judging by the demo tracks EZKeys Folk MIDI sounded usable.
