  1. Then go to that folder in Windows Explorer and see if a new folder got added there. If not (probably not, or the scan would have seen it) you will have to search for it, find it, and move it there. My Free Angels folder got added into the 1928 Piano folder, regardless of the path I selected in the installer.
  2. Not really. Even though SoundPaint plays samples, it's not a pure sample playback engine. As such, it's not intended to replace the 8Dio sample libraries for the Kontakt platform. It's an engine that lets you layer, morph, and mangle up to 4 sampled parts.
  3. What were your results from LatencyMon?
  4. If they would just add the X-pedal emulations as T-RackS modules, then wish granted! You can run the T-RackS processors as individual plugins...

    Stargate DAW

This would probably be really useful to someone with a really old computer. It even runs on a Raspberry Pi.

    Stargate DAW

Saw this discussion about Stargate over on KVR in the Hosts forum. https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=572887 No VST support. The dev has implemented a setup with an approach similar to that used by Reason in the old days, pre-RE, and pre-VST. The dev isn't trying to implement yet another VST host, and competing with the big boys. Rather its intended use is as a light, fast, cross platform DAW where the projects are self contained. And it's open source, GPL3. https://stargateaudio.github.io/ Downloads: https://github.com/stargateaudio/stargate/releases/tag/release-21.11.2
  7. The answer to that would be yes, if Win 11 lowered the performance of your PC. Imagine if maybe you were running close to the limit before and everything was fine. Then after the upgrade your performance might have slipped a few percent? Anyway it only takes a few seconds to resize your buffers to find out. See the post above by Teegarden. He mentions that if Virtualization-Based Security (VBS) gets turned on, it has been known to tank gaming performance by 25%. Not sure how that would apply to audio, but it might not be good. I am reluctant to enable VBS on my DAW, even though it is an apparent security enhancement. https://www.zdnet.com/article/windows-11-has-advanced-hardware-security-heres-how-to-get-it-in-windows-10-today/
  8. Right, it doesn't make sense, but I seem to recall having to drop a few serial numbers into the IK Authorization Manager. Don't recall exactly which ones, as it's been a while...
  9. TLDR: The following new features are in the Windows version: New Skins: All SynthMaster 2 iOS skins are now working inside SynthMaster 2. That adds 4 new skins to SynthMaster 2. SynthMaster Player's skins are updated as well, they're now in line with SynthMaster. Keyboard and Velocity Zones: Each layer in SynthMaster 2 has now its own keyboard and velocity zones, letting the users to play different layers on different keyboard/velocity ranges. Pitch Quantization using Scales: The pitches of Oscillators or Modulators can now be quantized using a user selected scale. This lets the pitch to stay in tune within that specific scale. Larger Popup Windows for Arps, Sequencers and Multisegmented Envelopes: Due to the small areas allocated for Arps, Sequencers or Multisegmented Envelopes, editing those modules were challenging at times. With the introduction of popup windows, users can now press the zoom button to bring up the larger edit window(s) which take up the entire plugin window.
  10. Great suggestion! I will put that on my wish list!
  11. Did you try increasing your audio buffers? You could also run LatencyMon and see if it reports that your PC is suitable for real-time audio. Even if it passes that test, your audio buffers may be set too low.
  12. I went with Studio One Pro after I realized that the Cubase Pro demo required buying a hardware authorization dongle first! Although you can run Cubase Elements with the e-license. I liked Elements, but ...
  13. There are many folks asking "what is SoundPaint all about?", and I think that you have probably nailed it with that simple statement! Layering is probably the most effective technique to achieve new sounds and textures in sound design. Doing it in a synth rack, starting with MIDI hardware, and then with instrument tracks within a DAW has always been something that I really enjoy. But anytime one is able to do it within a single interface in a virtual instrument, it's a time saver for sure! So far I only have the Steinway and the guitar in SoundPaint, and mixing them together has been quite interesting! I already have enough other synth and sample libraries to keep me busy for the next 100 years, but I am intrigued by the possibilities for sound design within this product. I am open to getting a SoundPaint library that's something like Bioscape from Luftrum, to layer with a few conventional instruments. https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/luftrum-bioscape
  14. That's possible, and surely there will be some difference, as they are sampled from two different Rhodes models. From the SoundPaint description, they sampled an 88-key Rhodes Mark I from 1976. According to the history of the "Famous E", it is a Rhodes Mark II 73-key Suitcase, 71 vintage, the electric piano that Harold Rhodes proclaimed "the best Rhodes I have ever heard". https://www.emodelrhodes.com/history
  15. Great jam session towards the end! 👍 I also have the sampled "Famous E" Rhodes from Orange Tree Samples. I wonder how they would compare?
  16. Well you are using the VST2 version in NanoHost. You earlier had said the VST2 worked OK? In what host? Regarding the double-ended arrow in the lower right corner of NanoHost, try hovering the cursor over it until it shows a cross icon, before click-dragging to re-scale. It works here on 1920x1200 HD. You can also re-scale the SynthMaster skin by right-clicking in the GUI, and selecting "Change global skin", and then NanoHost should adapt to the new plugin scale.
  17. Bulent at KV331 Audio has been planning a SynthMaster 3 for about as long as Urs Hechmann at u-he has been planning a Zebra 3. 😂 From what I have heard, he was going to start full time work on SM3 development a couple years ago, but got sidetracked with his iOS projects. That is finished now, but I think that Mac silicon threw him a new curve ball. These more recent updates that he has been making for SM2.9 have been to enable technology compatibility with SynthMaster One. So that presets from either synth can be loaded into a SynthMaster 3 layer. So yes, SM3 should be a combination of the two existing synths, with some additional new features, improved user interface, more layers, granular synthesis, wavetable editor, etc. But these current maintenance and bug fixes to SM2 will ensure that it's still a strong synth on its own for the time being!
  18. For years I avoided full Kontakt, and stuck with Player libraries. At full list for $399, Kontakt was a bit beyond my budget! But when I learned how to crossgrade to Kontakt for $125, I went all in!!! And I have found that many many excellent commercial libraries for Kontakt, such as those from Indiginus, are very reasonably priced. If Indiginus packaged them for Player, they would have to be a lot more expensive (Native Instruments licensing). A couple of prime examples are The Resonator for $59 https://www.indiginus.com/the-resonator or Renegade Acoustic Guitar for $69. https://www.indiginus.com/renegade-acoustic-guitar I am sure glad that I now have full Kontakt, so I no longer have to pay attention to those dreaded words "full Kontakt required".
  19. Not the FAME studio, but here's Muscle Shoals Sound Studio where some famous folks recorded... This is where the rhythm section from the FAME studio came and created their own studio here
  20. It sounds like Apple broke the world with their new Mac silicon...
  21. Try running the SynthMaster plugin .dll in the free NanoHost, instead of the native standalone host. I use it for all of my synths that don't have standalone versions, and find it consistently more usable than KV331 Audio's standalone version. https://www.tone2.com/nanohost.html
  22. I would love to get that as one of my remaining group buy freebie selections! Still have 7 left at the $149 level...
