I can accept that they want to protect their products, but still they could provide an offline installation + activation (as many do)! But lately I've spent most of my money with plugin providers that support user-friendly activation (none/offline key/offline file). And I will be going on to give them my preference! It's not only better for users with offline systems, but it's also much easier to migrate the system/hardware! 😉

Yeah, I have the same impression! But if you are using an offline computer, then this is sad news! Player installation => online! 😞

Thanks! I had seen the default and changed it, but doing the test I forgot to do it again. But still it is 5 times the cpu consumption of the former version! But I agree it's more acceptable.

I checked Cosmos in Reaper: It consumes about 25 times the cpu as before! Sad!

Though I like that they updated these products, I have to mention those aspects: The plugins are now about 10 times the old size. I hope this has no effect to the performance, because I liked that the Nomad plugins have been very light on resource consumption. Nowadays online documentations drive me crazy! I prefer pdf documents, that's why I investigated a lot of time to convert online manuals to pdf. But there are so many obstacles! And their online manual creates new problems! It seems the future is more and more regress IMHO (somehow back to stoneage)! The new looks are somehow unemotional compared to their predecessors, but YMMV. Positive: I really like that it is now possible to input values (double click)! This is sometimes much easier than screw with the mouse!

This is exactly the reason why I hate Install Managers (NA...)! 😆 Furthermore this is why I like full Kontakt libraries! With them I skip to use NA. I rarely use NA and that's fine, avoids a lot of trouble! Most of the updates are anyway of no avail to me, they just consume time and sometimes only introduce new problems! 😉

As far as I can see it's only the loading and changes in the GUI that are stressing the CPU, for the rest I see it's lighter than most other channel strips (checked in Reaper where you can see the CPU hit for each plugin alone). Generally I have the impression that the GUI loading of Softube plugins has worsened in the last couple of years! I'm quite sure that it's caused by a "modern" GUI library!

Or if you rename the folder "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core" before you start the download!

Frankly, did I need another synth? - No, I have too many! did I need another compressor? - No, I'm strewn of compressors! did I need another channel strip? - You already know the answer! I had owned Tape and Wasted Space before! But the deal had been soooo tempting! 😁 Especially because there was no other appealing deal for me!

The problem in many DAWs is that most people neither use nor know the huge amount of default short cuts. Thus something weird happens sometimes and you don't know how you caused it! IMHO it would be better to enable the shortcuts one by one with your growing knowledge, i.e. they all would be off in the beginning! But YMMV!

IMHO there is a worse issue for deletion in Cakewalk: If you select a clip(s) with drag right mouse button and press the "Del" key, then it can happen occasionally that a selected plugin is accidentally deleted, even if it is out of view. This happened to me several times until I understood that the "nothing is happening" when I have pressed the delete key, was a misunderstanding and it caused a severe problem: A plugin with its settings was deleted from any track in the project.

Just be aware that they have this awful "CodeMeter" authorization! That's the reason why I never will be a customer of them again! Even iLok was so much better!

PSP FETpressor? Yes, I know, it's totally awful, if a developer changes the authorization system! But for me it was worse, that some companies changed it away from iLok to online only machine activation! So no offline activation anymore! This should be forbidden, because it suddenly sets new requirements!

An intensive usage of cpu and memory can reveal hardware and software issues that maybe not visible with low processing. This can be caused by processings that are running in parallel and interrupt themselves or by stressing hardware resources.

But not for a long time on the surface of the water! Somehow it was converted to a submarine. 😆

The real waste is, if your language does not support strict rules for pronunciation to writing! 😉 The Swedes were tired of having words written either by W or V and it was pronounced the same. There were more improvements, too. Since then writing and reading has been much easier! 👍 It's something that the English speaking people should have done long ago! It's a waste to learn the spelling of each word separately, just because there are no clear rules (chaos)! 😜

In nowadays Swedish there exists no letter W anymore (it has been decided in a language reform 100 years ago), except for some foreign words. So maybe we should call it VUP (Vågor = Waves)!

I've looked at the page and reading the instructions my hair stood on end, really! I'll avoid such plugin developers (even for free)! I maybe a plugin hoarder, but God forbid, I am really no Installation Manager hoarder! 😉

The same here! I catch me wasting hours to download, install, backup plugins and libraries instead of making music. But collecting gets tougher and tougher, because many plugin developers don't understand that people like me avoid online-only activations and installation manager only setups. There are some companies that missed hundreds of $ of me because of this! This is no joke, really!
