  1. Please share with the class when it rolls around again. Thank you!
  2. Pardon my thread intrusion, but your comment conjured a memory of an early family boating adventure many years ago. I was at the helm sliding diagonally into the slip just as pretty as you please and my wife had the mooring rope and hopped up on the dock.... kept on going right into Bellingham Bay on the other side. Glad you got your Mixer BTW. We get all our FedEx out of Burlington too, so I was looking for it.
  3. Wow- I didn't recall that Hyperion went that low. That was a steal. I paid $66 in Nov 2021 and I guess that was probably 40% off at the time (- JRR code too). I don't imagine it will be $11.25 very soon It is kind of a different beast, but I found it easier to tweak presets with it than with most synths. I guess my brain is a jumble of stomp boxes and cables. What appeals to me, I think, is that you don't see every used AND unused module spread over a few screens. If there is only one LFO in use, that is all you see, and you can generally see "the whole picture" at once. Sound wise I generally prefer edgier sounding synths like Spire and Hive 2, but this has a lot of variety and some nice soundscape type stuff.
  4. Just a heads up if anyone is interested in Hyperion Synth- I scanned the dev's Discord channel and there will soon be a "player" version of Hyperion called Theia, which will offer all the patches with macros but not the deep patch editing of Hyperion. No info on price yet. He has also indicated that a version update for Hyperion is in the works. Source: https://discord.gg/SwXuffYq6c
  5. What a great dev. Bought this almost two years ago and the amazing free updates keep rolling in.
  6. Audiomodern is great. I can't really find a use for Chordjam vs Scaler and other chord tools, but their other goodies, including Riffer, make up for that. Maybe a future free update to 'Jam will lift the veil for me.
  7. Yep the free version was nice. I think ADSR Sample Manager a good (free) alternative since the early versions of Loopcloud are hard to find. Here is the Loopcloud 7.2 blog page: https://www.loopcloud.com/cloud/blog/5123-Your-Guide-to-Producing-with-Loopcloud-7-2
  8. I finally took the plunge, and I am VERY happy with OTS. I own several fantastic guitars, but started developing osteoarthritis in my fingers 25 years ago. I still try to play now and then, and I can't part with my instruments. Anyway- I am a poor keyboardist, but I can fumble away on the midi keyboard painlessly for hours. I went with the guitar bundle and I am VERY happy with it. I have only played three of the 21 instruments so far because I just marvel at the realistic sound and responsiveness, and want to keep playing. These are models I have hanging on the wall, so I am quite familiar. I foresee a lot of joyful exploration.
  9. Good news then, because that is where I ordered mine from. On paper the WD will be faster than my existing Intel M2 which is only PCIe 3.0 I am hesitant to move my boot drive though, because of all the copy protected software thinking I am on a new PC. Went through that before. Even changing data drives will screw some of them up. I was thinking of just utilizing it for data, but I will wait until I get the new part and test the speed difference.
  10. Yeah- I posted a Baby Audio deal that I just got an email about. Larry posted the deal TWO WEEKS ago and I only looked back a week because I thought it was "fresh". I had a couple hits in the past week and got cocky. I should know better ?. I threw the Hornet deal in my edit out of fear of eating my post again!
  11. Oops!!? I am just going to slip this one below as an apology, because I know Larry is typing faster than I am ? https://www.hornetplugins.com/plugins/hornet-thirtyone-mk2/ HoRNet ThirtyOne MK2 90% off The deal expires on July 13th at 23:59 (Italian time) The HoRNet ThirtyOne MK2 is a classic combo of a spectrum analyzer and thirty one bands graphic equalizer but with a very peculiar characteristic: the "Auto EQ" function. When turned on the Auto EQ automatically sets the level of each band to reduce frequency masking and setting the correct balance across the spectrum.
  12. Dang- I am having a little panic attack here. I can't find any issues mentioned with my 3 year old MSI mobo (PCIe4). That would be a bummer.
  13. YES. I am finally going to populate that second M2 slot and move a bunch of stuff off the "slow" SSD.

  15. https://www.lootaudio.com/category/plugins/united-plugins/orbitron AND get United Plugins Autoformer FREE ( I got it free in May somewhere). Price looks pretty good. I have been waiting for this one. There was a sale at WA in Feb for $29 <edit> It looks like you would also qualify for Melda MDynamicEQ (free with $32.10 or more purchase) Info: https://unitedplugins.com/Orbitron/ https://unitedplugins.com/Autoformer/

  17. I am pretty sure Melody Sauce goes for $29 fairly often (I think I got version 1 for @20 and don't recall the upgrade. Maybe not such low prices with Stepic though. Feel Your Sound is very good too- God have have a lot of MIDI gens... Rapid Composer too, but it is just so deep I feel like you have to "live" in it for a long time to really get the benefit, and I can't stick with it long enough before I get frustrated and go to the simpler tools. I use Scaler primarily for chords, so I do the entire sections in scaler (inversions, etc) and drag them over one at a time. Maybe I just don't know it well enough, but I don't think you can build in rhythms to the chord sets at the bottom of the Scaler window- they are all equal lengths.
  18. I think I have an old version of Loop Engine and didn't look too closely at the latest. I will have to do that. As far as chord inspiration, I always go back to Scaler. It is pretty unbeatable IMO, but I am always game for a change of pace. Every couple months I load up Chordjam and try to figure out how the hell to get what I want from it. For Arp-Sequencers, Stepic is amazing (but really deep- tutorials required). I have also just rediscovered Stochas, which is free. What sets these two apart from the crowd is probability settings per note and MIDI CC sequencing. They will turn your 8 bar loop into 64 bars of uniqueness with minimal effort ?. A surprise contender for idea generation is Melody Sauce 2. V1 was a dud, but V2 was a major upgrade, adding a lot of variety and tweaking.
  19. v1 was interesting but I set it aside pretty quickly. There were some quirks in operation and I just felt it was "too random" and the parameter tweaks to change the generators were unpredictable and un-intuitive. I tried the demo of v2 and frankly found it much the same. The demo is very limited though, allowing only two tracks among other things (like it was for v1). Even though I am a sucker for midi generators, I am not getting the $10 upgrade.
  20. I was installing something new *cough* and discovered there was an update. Notes stolen from Evil Dragon over on VI. Use Native Access to update. 7.4.2 - 2023-07-05 Bug fix. 23. I am very curious where they will price new effects in the future. Arturia does a good job of hitting the price point that I go for to keep up the collection.
