You've gotten good advice here on the mix, but, overall, this song has the potential to be a gem. The lyrics are quite good, and if you make the vocal shine, this will be stellar. Well done!

This is a nice way to start my day. Your unpredictability is one of your greatest talents.

I love the sound of this, and especially the Iridium. Superb production all the way!

A beautiful song sung in a lovely setting just adds to the depth of the message. Thanks for sharing this with us!

Thank you, Paul, for your time and kind words! Cheers to you, as well!

Another classic from you! The words made me nostalgic, so close to events that I've been through. I really like the chord progression in this, as well as the arrangement, which is quite sophisticated and unpredictable. All in all, very inspirational.

Everything about this is top notch! These lyrics really speak to me, so kudos there. Keep it up!

Makke, thanks for taking the time to listen and respond! Glad you liked it.

Just what I said about turning the vocal up. All else is clear and well panned.

2 tunes, & the new Bats Brew album out : "Elemental"
Lynn Wilson replied to bats brew's topic in Songs
Classic! A cut above, etc., etc. Time for a video of you playing? -
Jack, you have such a unique approach to songwriting that makes it interesting to listen to even if the mix is a little off. In this case, my only crit is that the lead vocal could be louder so that the words can be understood better. Overall, your voice is well recorded and clear, just not quite loud enough for my old ears. You write interesting songs, and I can hear the time and thought that goes into each one, so let those lyrics shine!

Wow, I really like this song! Your vocal is very strong and convincing and well performed. This has a retro vibe, yet a modern sound. A little less reverb would make this sound closer to the listener and more intimate, but I like reverb, so it belongs regardless. Good songwriting!

I never get tired of hearing a Fender guitar played like this. I might bring the background instruments up in the mix, but it works quite well, as is. Good job, Makke!

Hi Tom, thanks so much for your kind words! The overly colorized f/x clips are using a stock video f/x in Vegas 12 called "unsharp mask", and the light beams are an f/x called "rays". I fiddled with them a bit and ended up with what you see. I have much to learn when it comes to making videos, but I hope to catch up a bit this year, as I want to make more videos. Cheers to you!

We've come a long way since camp Granada (hello mother, hello father). I used to live in Portland in 1986 and hung out at Apple music. I wonder if we ever ran into each other. Anyway, if I ever go camping again, I'll remember this! Nice job, David.

OK, I'll pay the ransom! The dead can dance (I've seen them). I love the sounds and textures that you've created in this. Another inspirational piece for synth fans like me.

This is the kind of music that I like to listen to when I've had a hard day. It makes me want to get my acoustic out and play it, but I never get the results that I want. Maybe all it takes is something inspirational like this.

Rex, you made Audio-Technica very happy, I suspect. I've used the AT-4033 for years and have been very happy with it. This song is beautiful, and sounds very pleasant over all my playback systems. I hope that it gets the airplay that it deserves.

Wookie, thanks for your furry ears! You may have heard this song several years ago before I made the video. If it sounds OK on your Adams, then I'm happy.

Mark, thank you for taking the time to listen and reply. I like your idea about using the ending for a new song. I'll get to work on that as soon as it warms up a bit in my basement. It's cold here in Kansas City. Thanks a million, Bjorn! Hopefully, we keep getting better along the way! I'm just trying to keep up with the rest of you talented songwriters.

Track Export: No FX if they're applied on a bus!
Lynn Wilson replied to Barry Seymour's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Make sure the bus f/x box is enabled in the export menu, and make sure your bus is selected, too. -
Thank you so much! I'm happy to please. You've said it all. Thank you for taking the time to listen and comment! Douglas, this means a lot, coming from you! Keep up your good work! Tom, I hope my tongue didn't completely come through my cheek Thank you for your time!

I merely raised a glass at the bar Thank you very much, Steve! I was thinking of you when I made this video. Jack, thank you for your time and nice comment, especially in regards to the DB remark. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

Nigel, thanks so much for the encouraging words. Your own videos have helped to inspire me to do more! Best of luck with your new album.

New Audio Interface and Microphone Discussion
Lynn Wilson replied to RexRed's topic in Instruments & Effects
Rex, I've heard a number of your tunes, and your vocals are among some of the best recorded vocals around, so I doubt you can blame your mic. Hopefully, the new audio interface will solve your problems. I'll be curious to hear what you have to say when it arrives.
