Map CC64 to VST plugin control? SOLVED
scook replied to Colin Nicholls's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Use remote control to automate the parameter (right-click near the fader in the automation lane) and, if necessary, the Event Filter MFX in the MIDI FX Rack to block the CC64 data from going to the synth. -

How do I make these channel strips in the console normal?
scook replied to Marco Ortega's question in Q&A
Once everything is bounced down Archive the drum audio and MIDI tracks. This will preserve the data (just in case) and release the resources used by them,- 12 replies

Select track 2 (Old/Kick1) and the audio track (track 1) run "Bounce to Track(s)" from the Tracks menu in the Track View Select track 3 (Kick 3) and the audio track (track 1) run "Bounce to Track(s)" from the Tracks menu in the Track View Repeat with the rest of the MIDI tracks Each MIDI track will be rendered using the same audio track into new audio tracks.- 12 replies

iLok errors - Lexicon PCM Effects ERRORS out again
scook replied to Max Arwood's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
A related question is - why do all your other iLok plug-ins work in Cakewalk? The logic of "something works in one DAW but not another is somehow the DAW's fault" has been demonstrated false too many times to be reliable. -
It could be the workspace setting Cakewalk by BandLab 2020.08 (CbB for short calling it SONAR is confusing) has some updates to workspaces.
-
If there is no 64bit DX plug-in (I am pretty sure it is 32bit only) then you will need to install a 32bit version of SONAR too. 32bit DX plug-ins do not load into 64bit hosts.

Please do not discuss or provide links to stolen software on this site Thanks.

I have never read where Roland gave away this plug-in. Do you have a link for this? There are cracked versions of the plug-in on the internet.
-
I was using 32bit SONAR when Live Synth Pro was popular and have no experience with early versions of 64bit SONAR. I am not sure there was a 64bit version of LSP. My guess is the first 2 entries in the synth rack refer to 32bit DX plug-ins. If this is the case, they are not usable in 64bit hosts.

¿Why plugins from Sound Forge appears inside of my cakewalk by Band Lab?
scook replied to Jose Guadalupe Garcia Garcia's question in Q&A
The action simply causes the program to exclude the plug-ins from the plug-in lists. The plug-ins still exists and will show up in projects that reference them. -

scook replied to Jose Guadalupe Garcia Garcia's question in Q&A
AFAIK, the SoundFoge plug-ins are DX format. Cakewalk reads DX plug-in names from the registry regardless of which program registered them. Use the plug-in manager to prevent plug-ins from showing up in the browser and menus Cakewalk. To hide the Sound Forge plug-ins open the plug-in manager and follow these steps: click on the DirectX Audio Effects (DX) in Plug-in Categories column click on a plug-in to hide in the Registered Plug-ins column click the Exclude Plug-in button -
Another item added after SONAR is the ability to change the bar color in the performance module. You may like the default but I thought it was worth a mention.

There are more than pallete changes. The three views I mentioned need button image changes as well

It's a good start One of the challenging things with themes is working with all the views and elements that are not part of your workflow. Looks like the PRV, audiosnap pallette and the maxtrix view are not consistent with the rest of the theme. The interleave and phase buttons on the tracks amd buses in the Track view need work too. May want to update the properties page for the theme. It is an option on the theme editor menu.

The main problem is updating everything but a few pieces of software. This is not a reasonable approach for computer-based solutions. Software is developed on contemporary hardware and operating systems. As the hardware and operating systems change over time, the software needs to change with it. When software stops being supported by the manufacturer it shifts from being an asset to a liability for the user. Software developed in the Windows XP era relied on how XP worked. There were some changes made in Vista leaving manufacturers with a choice: update the software or leave it to the users to figure out how to deal with the changes. This is when "run as administrator" became a popular workaround. By running software as administrator users are bypassing Windows security. While an easy workaround it is less than ideal. Better solutions require knowledge about how the OS and software interact. This is not something most users are likely to research. FWIW, this is not just a Windows problem. This is how software works regardless of the OS.

The ASIO device names are supplied by the driver. I have never seen names exactly like the ones in the image but have seen quite a few that list only the odd numbered channels. By default, the input and outputs listed in preferences are stereo pairs. It appears the even numbered channels are not part of the name supplied to the DAW. Check the input drop down of a audio track. There should be a left, right and stereo option for each item listed in the audio device input preferences.

PCs with 16GB of RAM typically come installed with a 64bit OS. There is no requirement to install 32bit software in a particular folder. Have not seen much discussion about the Edirol Orchestral library in years. IIRC, it has not been available for purchase in over a decade. Might be time to retire the plug-in and look for a manufacturer supported 64bit replacement.

The forum supports uploading files. There is a per-user upload quota of 50 MB Rather than mess with managing the quota, I use google drive for shared files and imgur for images.
