It's official: CbB will not continue for long.
Bristol_Jonesey replied to John Vere's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Nobody can say for sure what will happen with YOUR system. Every user case is different to the next. But I updated to the EA on the first day it was available and haven't noticed a single thing wrong with it. You WILL need to update it at some point because the existing servers which CbB use to refresh your activation will no longer be online. The way I see it, you have a choice of 4 courses of action: Update to the final release and use that. This will mean no more updates or bug fixes Upgrade to Sonar when it becomes available Revert to using X2/X3/Platinum Don't do any of the above and stop using it after a period of (max) 6 months. -

Yes we can, but you can't assume the same about the bean counters at Bandlab. They could well be getting twitchy about CbB being an endless drain on their resources. -
question regarding the new update coming up
Bristol_Jonesey replied to greg54's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
What are "release approaches"? I've read all the release notes that accompany every update, and they always list the bugs which have been fixed. Are you saying they list the ones that haven't been fixed? If not your post and general stance on this matter is nonsensical -

I was using the Sat Nav to guide me to a location I'd not been to before. It took me somewhere completely different to the UK post code I'd (accurately) typed in. -

Do you have a list of these "numerous bugs"? -
Apparently I said something funny. Care to elaborate?

Not if either side contains information not present in the other side

Is it possible to have nested Track Folders?

This is a relatively recent addition. Upgrade to the latest version and you'll be fine. If not, please report back -

Bristol_Jonesey replied to Harley Dear's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Not sure what's being said here. I'm reading it that once their authorization period has expired you're basically stuffed. Upgrade to the paid version or do without? This can't be the case surely -

Hit 'H'. See if those tracks have been de-selected -
extra encoding options for Wav
Bristol_Jonesey replied to charles kasler's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
This is interesting, certainly something I only just found out. The Dithering option in the Export dialog will automatically pick up whatever the user has set under Preferences > Audio > Playback & Recording. -

You can prevent unwanted editing on a clip by right clicking it and select Clip Lock. You can lock the data, position or both -
Clip moved back on freezing a track

At that level of resolution, it begs the question - is this anomaly even audible? -
extra encoding options for Wav
Bristol_Jonesey replied to charles kasler's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
The only time to use dither is when you're exporting to a lower word length - i.e. from 24 to 16 If you're not doing this then leave it unchecked -
I'd like to know what "Proper EQ settings" are?

Thanks everyone. I might have found a company local to me in the UK who offer this type of service, but I will need to check if they can bake the tapes beforehand

Hi Guys I recently came across a couple of old master tapes that we recorded back in about 1984 on 7" tape I haven't a clue about getting this transferred to digital, or even if it's possible I don't know what speed they were recorded at or anything. Anyone have any suggestions? I'd love to be able to get these into Cakewalk and have a play with them

I would suggest there is something seriously wrong if you cannot even play a 47 track project. My old XP machine with 4Gb RAM would and did play back 75 track projects, complete with all manner of FX plugins, unrendered V-Vocal clips, un-bounced VSTi's
