This is them most plausible method by far. Be interesting to start the re-install with your internet switched off, see how far it gets.

You will find that many plugins have a "Sweet Spot" where they only function properly over a narrow range of inputs Drive it too hot and it distorts. Don't drive it hard enough and it sounds wimpy and prone to noise Using the input gain is a good way (and for those plugins without their own input gain, the only way) to get the plugin to respond in a "musical" way This is part of a larger topic known as gain staging, where the gain of your signal is controlled tightly from input all the way through to your monitors Read up on gain staging and it will invariably start by talking about input gain

The best advice I would give is to uninstall everything Then install Splat including all the goodies ,then install CbB Splat will take a LOT longer for the full installation compared to CbB

So...... I've got all my Splat installs ready to go from the CCC. No problem there I do not have X2 in CCC, but I *do* have the original installer .exe I only need X2 for a handful of plugins + V-Vocal Is it necessary to install the updates to X2 (was it X2A?) or will the base installation suffice I do not intend to use X2 for any project related work Thanks

Are you actually saving it as a template? Have you set Workspaces to "None"?

Think I'm going to do this: VST 2 32 Bit C:\Program Files (X86)\Common Files\VST2 VST 2 64 Bit C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST2 VST 3 32 Bit C:\Program Files (X86)\Common Files\VST3 VST 3 64 Bit C:\Program Files\VST3 That's if either of the 32 bit paths are needed - I'll find out when I install

Hi all I have a dual boot Win7 / Win 10 system Currently no software installed on the Win 10 partition but I'm about to take the plunge and install all my software & plugins going right back to Sonar 8 (selective install of various plugins) So... what's the current thinking regarding installation paths? I'm thinking I'll need separate paths for VST2 & VST3 but what about 32bit/64 bit? Does CbB even recognise 32 bit? Thanks

You can't mix & match using a pan envelope (or any other envelopes) and use the pan setting at the same time. Use one or the other. You can only truly pan mono tracks - panning stereo tracks works much the same way as a balance control on your hi-fi

The only things I can think of to make a track volume unresponsive is if you have volume automation on the track, Offset Mode engaged or you're tweaking the Midi velocity, not volume

One final option, lasso the notes you want altered then right and select Insert Fx > Midi Fx > Velocity This will open a dedicated plugin where you can do all sorts of things with velocities
