Does or will Cakewalk Sonar have a perpetual license?
Bristol_Jonesey replied to GTsongwriter's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
Wait and see. Nobody here knows. This thread will self destruct in 5....4....3..... -
In that case I highly recommend you leave your installation(s) as they are. You run the risk of borking something which later proves a pain to rectify. As I said earlier, the space you reclaim would be negligible.

^^^ What Glenn said Using tempo events is a LOT more intuitive than using SMBAN I suspect you need something like this. You can get as creative as you want with different envelope shapes

MIDI question about changing a VST through Cakewalk.
Bristol_Jonesey replied to Craig Wojo's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Best way by far. Just remember to switch W off when you've finished -
Can I ask why you want to do this? The amount of disc space you'd reclaim would be pretty small. And if you're really that short of space, I'd consider getting a bigger drive

Regarding the Opacity of Bandlab and Cakewalk
Bristol_Jonesey replied to MIDInco's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
This is the only part of your post I take issue with. The vast majority of users do not find it buggy or unstable. I haven't had a crash since the days of X1 - a LONG time ago in DAW world. Maybe you could share your experience regarding what you find buggy or unstable. -
offline activation vs. help menu
Bristol_Jonesey replied to mark skinner's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Have you signed in and out from the help menu? -
Shouldn't make any difference. The sidechain inputs should still be exposed no matter what other sends are present Here I can send from Track 6 to the Comp on Track 5 even though there's a send to the Delay bus present

Bristol_Jonesey replied to Jaime Ramírez's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
No solution, but it's absolutely fine here with Win 11 and latest Sonar -
Stop working or working but with "save" disabled?

Working but with Save disabled -
Very top right of your screen, under Workspaces, set it to NONE

Why this awkward roll out of Cakewalk Sonar ?
Bristol_Jonesey replied to Mannymac's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
It's only a case of "here we go again" because you're like a bloody dog with a bone and won't let it go. -
Why this awkward roll out of Cakewalk Sonar ?

I would have the thought it's obvious. They are waiting to see how many people sign up for the current Backstage Pass before they can decide on the resulting pricing structure. That's what I would ahve done if I was in charge. -
Function wise it's practically the same. There are a few new features - Mike Enjo has done a summary of these on his Creative Sauce page. But the gui is now based on vector graphics which at the moment aren't 3D, which a lot of users don't like. I happen to like it. After a few days working with it I came to appreciate the clean lines everywhere.
