  1. Can't you just change that folder's permissions? I do this all the time.
  2. Sounds OK here on my Mackie Onyx.
  3. It's been a bit sketchy for me, but if you have Melodyne already you can just drag the wav clip to a MIDI track and it should convert to MIDI. Just depends on how complex the part is if editing will be needed. Go to Help>Documentation>Using Regional FX>Melodyne>Using Melodyne>See:To convert audio to MIDI.
  4. I kinda surmised that, although I think it was just called Guitar Rig LE with no version number. My last 2 systems had Sonar 8 installers run only for the plugins, but GR3 LE is nowhere to be found on them so you're probably right. Either that or they configured GR4 LE to overwrite it when X1 came out. I've since upgraded to v4 & 5 so I'm not necessarily looking to use 3 again. Funny thing about plugins engineered to only run in the host DAW they were registered with - some are able to slip by that protocol. I have one that won't run in any version of Sonar except Home 7XL - but it will run in other DAWs.
  5. It would still be nice if both options were in the Help menu so I can choose on the fly. Maybe even a link to the PDF there too.
  6. Deselecting this helps: But it can be tedious at times.
  7. Just found this: http://dimension.technetos.com/ May be some useful info there tho many links are now dead.
  8. I wonder if installing as Administrator would help, as in the case of Dimension. Cool thing about Sonar 8 install disc are the included videos.
  9. If you deselect Preferences>Playback and Recording>Use Multiprocessing Engine, it will only show 1 fat core. Not as impressive to onlookers but leaves more room for other CB modules. And I've never had the need for Multiprocessors anyway.
  10. What was it bundled with? I don't have GT3 (I searched) but just loaded GT4 into an FX bin which asked to transfer GT3 presents. Not sure where it got them but how cool if all plugins asked that.
  11. Me 2. It's quite the orchestration for me to get over 100 tracks. Then again, not sure I ever did. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  12. If there isn't already a way to turn on & off or bypass a MIDI track's controller lane, it would be nice to add it. Prefer individual CC lanes but even all lanes at once, so we can make quick A/B checks. A time consuming Convert to Envelopes could be a work-a-round, but not very efficient.
  13. Must have happened when they "improved" SPlat's PRV Track view list format. Not an issue in Sonar X3 and before. The Add Track button dialog also has a limitation of 99.
  14. All that does is take up Control Bar space.
  15. This is what I deal with daily, and have concluded is the reason for 95% of project/track corruptions. Especially when the original project was created with an earlier version of Sonar AND/OR on a different system. But even when not, the more versions are saved, the more bugs crop up. Often the only way to end the corruption is start a new project and carry over the data or find an earlier version that's bug free. This also helps weed out a wayward track.
  16. Can this be done? Ability to move entire selected area freely. Also, stretch corners independent of each other like Photoshop Transform>Distort.
  17. Did you check the Tutorial forum?
  18. Sometimes A=B. While it helps having MIDI interface & controllers on 1st, I sometimes have to reboot the PC a couple times before Sonar/CbB communicates with them properly.
  19. You can by using the Clips button dropdown if the plugin allows. In this example, choose Enabled where 100%=ON & 0%=OFF:
  20. Hi, I can't reproduce this so it may be specific to your system or the clip.
  21. You can also Ctrl+Shift+Drag the end of a clip to stretch it to desired length in Track View. You can also lasso select (right click & drag) notes in PRV and do the same. Set Snap for precision.
  22. Right click the new clip and select Unlink Step Sequencer Clips then edit.
  23. Probably a free teaser for their Music Cour$e$$$. https://online.berklee.edu/courses
