  1. LOL. So happens the small text is blue. Maybe the "new" vector based GUI will address things like small text.
  2. Looks like SI Suite has option to hide the Pattern Browser or has removed it:
  3. They may offer one, but Noel's quote above indicates there will be options.
  4. Which means you can use it long after. It won't stop working once the year is up. You just won't get any updates. It will be just like it is now - older versions of Sonar can be installed and used without any outside interaction - as long as you have the serials & registration codes. Just as they did with Sonar, people are confusing "subscriptions" with this.
  5. rgc sfz & sfz+ will both load soundfont sf2 files and wav files. They both came with Sonar but if you don't have them you can download sfz here. It will install the plugin and standalone. The difference between them is sfz+ won't load sfz files. Should have called it sfz- or sf2+. EDIT: Converting sf2 to sfz isn't always straight forward and sometimes yields poor results, so a good sf2 player is nice to have.
  6. Yeah, you can also (with the right buttons lit in the Selection Module) grab a section in the main window and drag it around... or delete the whole section with one click. I use that one to create an End Of Song section to delete any rogue data floating beyond the song end. Pretty cool stuff. Then there's multiple Arranger Tracks...
  7. and 5. Rearrange & duplicate sections as desired (in the Inspector) That's actually what I linked to in my post. The Arranger Track is one of the best additions to CbB that isn't too complex to use. Articulations on the other hand...
  8. I could be wrong but I thought the Arranger had a way to create different "arrangements" that can do this already.
  9. Today copy & pasting the above image decided to work, confirming it's intermittent. Then I copied an image of 240x19 and it failed to allow pasting. Then I copied an image of 240x18 and I was able to paste it over the 240x19 image -- something not supposed to happen. Definitely something weird going on.
  10. Boost 11 value text is almost unreadable on 1080p screens. I can't see them. Even magnified, some #s are undiscernible.
  11. No. But it will report your new song to the copyright infringment police if it's even the slightest bit similar to a famous song, or rewrite/recompose/remix your song so it's closer to what it thinks you meant it to be. Think of it as the "talent knob" feature we've been asking for. ?
  12. FWIW, Ctrl+Space is used to re-set the Now Time Marker when stopping transport. Preferences lists Ctrl+Space as "Stop with Now Marker" but not "Start" so I wonder if using it to start playback is simply ignoring the Ctrl key and only responding to the Space key. https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Playback.07.html
  13. Will the already available Yamaha XG Drum Maps work?
  14. I don't think you can have it the old way. Regardless of settings, clicking somewhere other than where Now Time Line is during playback will jump playback to that position. Current settings only determine where the Now Time Line will be when transport is stopped.
  15. Sometime logging out of Windows or rebooting the computer is necessary to clear it.
  16. I've been hitting the global echo button 2x to get the "always on" one to go off with the rest.
  17. Actually just had this happen yesterday after loading it 2x in a simple project.
  18. 1.2.0.14. I think it's the latest. You can actually see it in the lower righthand corner of the screenshot. Click image to zoom. Some of the tools don't appear until you click on an item. Thanks for asking. Just noticed the screenshot shows the 2nd T.E.'s Paste function on the Tool Ribbon is also grayed out like the right-click menu.
  19. Sorry. Sometimes I omit step x steps if it seems obvious, so I will amend my OP.
  20. LOL Not so smart alec answer: To test why it's not working. If 2 images are identical then copy&paste should work. But, for me it only works 50% if the time. So it appears to be a bug. And bugs bug me. When they bug me, I reports them. You can be sure I test them well, before reporting.
  21. If your interface only has a stereo pair to record from, you can: 1. Solo the outboard synth's MIDI track and set an audio track's Input to the interface's Main or only output and record the synth real-time to the audio track. You can then use Menu > Tracks > Bounce to Track(s) to mix down everything onto another track. or 2. Record the whole mix the same way with no tracks soloed to a stereo mix audio track. There'll be no outboard synth audio track in the project but it's sound will be in the mixdown track. If you have a multi-channel interface, you can record directly from the outboard synth's mixer channel so nothing else gets recorded to that track while listening to the whole mix.
  22. This was unclear to me so I rendered comment from my own experience which is from Home Studio 9 - 1999. His (now we know) 1990 .wrk's are probably different than mine. "Anyway, the question is how to make the audio work? Before I laboriously reconstruct it by dragging the right external audio clip into new audio tracks... I'm hoping there is a way to "fix" it automagically." If the old .wrk files are "embedding" audio into MIDI tracks then it's doubtful CbB will know what to do with them. Unless msmcleod's way solves that (drag in the .wrk file), you'll most likely need to import them into the new project as their own audio tracks - then Save-As the new project. Yeah, this'll be fun if the file naming convention was "f1gj43hn.wav" like it was with CWPA9 & HS9. No need to create audio tracks before doing that. Just drag the files to the blank area below the last track and tracks will be automatically made for them. Interesting link
  23. FWIW, .wrk & .cwp files don't contain wave files, but .bun & .cwb files do. Unless you have the original wave files associated with the .wrk file, you won't have any audio. .wrk & .cwp files will look for wave files in the original folder they were saved in (probably the global audio folder). Otherwise they will ask you to locate or skip them. If they've been moved from their original location, you may have to re-import them back into the project.
  24. Alternative to re-recording a pitchbend or hammer-on. 1. Highlight note area you want pitched up or down 2. Go to Menu > Process > Transpose 3. Enter Amount, check Transpose Audio, and select Type 4. Click OK
