  1. Works for Psyn II but not RXP. This works for RXP Groove Browser & Pentagon I DX: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\rgc:audio Software\Dxi\Pentagon I In other news... Pentagon I VST = "Cakewalk Sonar has stopped working" (crash) If a plugin supports it, the setting will be listed under the new top bar icon. Turning it OFF in Preferences to display some plugins won't help those that need it.
  2. RXP (32 bit) opens in 64 bit new Sonar, CbB, and SPlat but the Groove Browser is empty. Groove Browser works in all 32 bit Sonars and 64 bit X1-X3.
  3. Select all and drag up & down, or CAL script Scale Velocity to lower or raise by a %, or Piano Roll View > Transform Tool - .
  4. Since when did that matter... here. I've recorded acoustic guitar with a piezo bridge p/u, a LANCE humbucker p/u, and a diaphragm mic at the same time all routed to separate tracks for a nice blended sound.
  5. Good catch. Probably my issue too but will check later. EDIT: My mouse was set to 3 which was causing the blurry cursors. At 1 the cursors are too small to see on a 17" 4K screen so larger mouse cursor sizes are sometimes needed.
  6. Thanks for clarifying Promidi. It makes more sense now. Tho articulations are still too complex for me to get into.
  7. Not sure but it sounds like I got 2 different answers??
  8. Try different scale settings. I find only a few display cursor icons clearly when using 4K (3840x2160) res's. 100% = clear 125% = clear 150% = blurry 175% = blurry [This scale gives the best overall view for me on a 17" screen] 200% = clear 225% = clear 250% (Recommended) = clear 300% = blurry 350% = blurry
  9. Does this translate to exported MID files that can be played with another sound source or does it remain exclusive to the Cakewalk project?
  10. Unfortunately. I have a 4K but it's too small for DAW use at those res's. At standard res's, new Sonar is somewhat less readable than CbB for more than one reason. Properly scalable vector based UI's should be crisp at all res's. My main DAW screen is 2K so it's somewhat of an issue.
  11. True. The smaller they get, the hotter they get, the more delicate they get, the more likely something goes wrong. I miss(ed) the good ol' days:
  12. I typically use the legacy login site for downloads because CCC doesn't have all my stuff for some reason.
  13. I've grappled with this since X1 so it's not you. When things go sideways I restart the computer and try again with a new project to reproduce the issue. Usually it takes a day or 2 before things go back to normal. Maybe the PC is having a bad day. They're only human too.
  14. The image then becomes embedded into the template file and you can delete the image. Of course, this will be a moot point in short order unless you use Sonar Platinum.
  15. I noticed the Preferences header text right off the bat. In some, if not all, areas they've changed font faces, size, and the way fonts are displayed. At 1920x1080 @100% zoom, CbB Header text is much more readable. Sonar Header text looks like it's having trouble adjusting to standard resolutions. At 4K 3840x2160 @150% zoom on a 17" laptop, Sonar text looks cleaner than CbB text but would be easier to read if it wasn't bold. Even tho the views below look bigger than the views above, they're much smaller on the 4K 17" screen. At 4K 3840x2160 @100% zoom, Sonar text still looks cleaner than CbB text but tends to become misaligned, or the boxes aren't resizing to fit it causing it to be shorter in height. Again the views are smaller on the laptop.
  16. Is it a true update? Do I need it if I already have SD3 from X1?
  17. Nice. Actually... all 4 corners are beveled on a groove clip.
  18. When I signed in thru CbB, I checked the Bandlab websites and neither one said I was logged in there. Does that mean they are separate or unrelated sign ins? I don't know.
  19. 1 & 2. My settings were maintained. No issue here. 3. I've noted the CV text in another thread.
  20. Logging into BandLab is straight forward when done thru CbB's menu. Seems people here either have this issue or don't and won't be able to help. Only other thing that may not have been mentioned yet is to run CbB as administrator before logging into BL. Otherwise I would contact BandLab https://help.bandlab.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404926548121-How-do-I-contact-BandLab
  21. Options: 1. Right-click the clip and select Groove-Clip Looping (this also checks the Inspector box shown in Glenn's post). Once you see the corners turn beveled you can drag the clip out as far as you want. 2. Click the Draw Tool dropdown and select Pattern. Now left-click the clip to select it and hold the cursor at the end of the clip until it turns into a paint roller. Now click and drag as far as you want.
  22. Changing text and line colors can add a lot to the readability and contrast of a UI. This should be fairly easy to do with Sonar as was done in the pre-X series Sonar 4 thru 8.5... (edit): in Preferences>Customization>Colors.
  23. Exactly. It just came on that day and didn't happen the day before or since... so far. But when I said: "without loading a thing" I mean no template, no plugins, no nuthin', so I'm inclined to think there is/was something else going on under the OS hood that Sonar/Cakewalk is sensitive to. Since I have been using the same plugin set forever, I'm not so inclined to blame one of them each time it happens, especially when none are involved. Before re-installing Windows, older Dimension versions (1.2 & 1.3) were notorious for crashing Sonar/Cakewalk for no understandable reason. After reinstalling Windows and everything else, the projects will open but Dimension gets listed as "missing" when in fact it is available. (Maybe because the registry is misreporting the dll's actual location - I hope I can fix that) Older BREVERB also used to crash CbB instantly. After a fresh Windows reinstall for some reason it just creates a repeating beep like it's in demo mode. This IS understandable as Overloud disabled it and released a different version when Gibson pulled the plug (pun?), then rereleased another one when BandLab took over. Using the latest versions of these plugins solves the problem.
