  1. I followed the instructions on the website (which stony posted) and it was a breeze!! The only thing extra I had to do was a vst scan. That's between step 3 and 4. To clarify: In my case, the authorizer self-populated the code. I assume it did so because I had logged in to my Overloud account at some point.
  2. WOW! I never knew this. I always thought it used MIDI gear. Gonna boot Cakewalk and some gear to test. I hope "they" didn't remove that. UPDATE: PHEW!!!!! You had me worried there, John . Please don't do that. We can still use external gear for the MIDI Metronome.
  3. removed (the info is at the link above)
  4. Withdrawn. The message I used to get in SONAR was the one for MIDI Sync.
  5. Some people don't like to use the word "MASTER."
  6. Removed because it sounded like I was being judgmental.
  7. Did you try sending CCs as listed in the Reference Guide? If they work, you could try creating an *.ins file. I did that with a couple of Roland "Intelligent Arranger" sound modules [CA-30 & RA-30]. It worked. Your Korg has much more to switch, but it looks like the process of using a bank switch + a program change should do it. It might also have sysex options, but I didn't find a sysex manual. Did you try any tests by inserting bank switches + program changes using the event list as suggested above? I seem to remember that's what I did before creating an *.ins file. That was a long time ago, but I probably started with the midi commands on the control track pointed to my gear at the rate of one style change per measure and watched the front panel to see if the changes happened.
  8. Someone mentioned the series of giveaways and I watched the first one, then forgot about it. So thanks for the reminder!
  9. Just a guess: perhaps Output 1 + is really a stereo pair of audio outputs as in Output 1 + Output 2 and the OP is not using a Master Bus?
  10. Thanks for the info. I was (and still am) logged in. But I see MODO DRUM CS in my user area. So, maybe I clicked on that thinking that like Syntronik 2 CS it would add something; not sure. If so, maybe having the CS version wiped out my $79 offer. Not a big deal for me, though. I have plenty of other drums. Hope IKM can get their act together for the sake of others.
  11. This is consistent with my experience. I was offered the $79 upgrade. My GB25 entry was MODO Drum. PS: My version of TS2 MAX (purchased October 2020) had MODO BASS, not MODO DRUM. Never mind. I just checked the store. It is now $199 for me to get MODO DRUM 1.5. Its $149 to get MODO DRUM SE. MODO DRUM CS is free, but since I already have MODO DRUM 1, I am passing. I also have the ability to download the Studio Kit separately for free. Perhaps the $79 offer was only good for a very limited time--perhaps the time it took for IKM to get the individual kits available for separate purchase. I saw the $79 offer before the individual kits were listed.
  12. Heads up re: Syntronik 2 SE. According to the ad and other places on the IKM website (including the versions comparison table) the SE version has approx. 1000 presets: However, in my experience (1) the presets included are for the Syntronik 1 Instruments (some regular, some deluxe) and (2) the 1000 presets are split between Syntronik 1 Generation (not editable in the Syntronik 2 Edit Panel) and Syntronik 2 Generation (editable in the Syntronik 2 Edit Panel). For example, the comparison for Blau is listed on the comparison table as having 100 presets, but based on my experiences 67 are generation 1 (not in the Syntronik 2 Edit Panel) and 31 are generation 2 (editable). Yes, I know that's only 98, not 100.** Several days ago I wrote Customer Support for a list of all the presets it is supposed to have to try to verify that my observations are based on what the product offers, and not user error. If I hear from them, I will update this "Heads up." For the sale price,*** it might be worth it to some IKM users to have some editable Syntronik 1 presets in addition to the Syntronik 2 CS presets. Note: So far I only looked at several of the instruments. **More Info: The IKM Comparison table says Syntronik 2 SE should have 100 presets for Modulum (a Syntronik 1 Deluxe Instrument). I counted 84 Generation 1 presets (not editable in Syntronic 2 SE's Edit Panel) and 35 Generation 2 presets (editable). Yes, I know that adds up to 119, not 100. ***2022-03-04: At the time of the original post, the sale price was $39.99 (with up to $12 off with jam points). Not sure what the current sale price is.
  13. I went to My Products (logged in, of course), then Dimension Pro 1.5. It was under Downloads. Didn't need to use Command Center. PS: While I was looking, I downloaded the latest/last version (1.5.5.13). Then I checked what I had on my current PC (1.5.0.11, which seems to work fine). @scook Any thoughts on whether or not I should install 1.5.5.13?
  14. I am glad that I cut my losses, killed Cosmos, and uninstalled it (2/16/2022). The first warning sign I had was that over a span of twenty minutes the installation process added several (5) older Microsoft Visual C++ files (200-2013) that no other program previously needed. The second warning sign was that the program seemed to be doing almost nothing for about forty minutes.
  15. You need to understand how the audio devices work on your computer. For example, I configured my Windows 10 parameters/devices so that Cakewalk communicates through my audio/MIDI device's ASIO driver while at the same time, I send the audio from other software (such as a web browser) through the motherboard audio codec (as controlled by Windows' Audio/Sound) to the front audio output of my PC. I could plug in a pair of headphones, but for my needs I chose to connect it to my audio/MIDI interface. If I want Cakewalk to send the audio to the headphone jack on the front of my PC, or the output jack on the back of my PC, or even the built-in speaker, I change some basic settings in using Cakewalk's [P]references. Specifically, (1) I change the Driver Mode from ASIO to Windows Audio (shared) [aka WASAPI (shared)] and then (2) change my Audio > Device Output to whichever output I want to use. Normally, P is the shortcut for Preferences. From the Preferences panel, (1) Audio > Playback and Recording > Driver Mode lets users select/change the Driver Mode. (2) Audio > Devices > Output Drivers lets users choose which outputs Cakewalk uses. In addition the track control [O]utput widget lets users decide where to send the audio output from each audio track.
  16. You can open the *.ins file in notepad, create a list, and save it as a *.txt file.
  17. 0xBF,32,15 It looks like you are mixing hex and dec here. CC#0 and CC#32 for bank switching control are decimal values.
  18. OK. I figured it out. You and I are talking about different things. Never mind.
  19. Maybe I misunderstood, but based on the previously thread I thought you were going to download and install the ASIO drivers for your interface, but I don't see that you mentioned doing that and what the results were. The screen shot above doesn't show that you selected ASIO. See [P]references > Audio > Playback and Recording > Driver Mode. It looks like you are using WDM/KS for the Driver Mode. Oh . . . . When you say you installed the bundled software, does that include the current drivers? It looks like the profiler is profiling the Realtek audio.
  20. Glad to hear you are having some progress with recording the MIDI and the audio. As to the new question of how to use Cakewalk so it is in sync (and can be used by others), I have seen it discussed, but I will defer to others for advice on that. I know there is a time offset parameter in the Inspector but I am not sure that is the best solution for your needs.
  21. I was curious about this because I have seen waveform displays that are lopsided (e.g., higher % below zero than above) but never took the time to dissect them. So, I looked at patch in realtime using Melda's MOscilloscope. Sure enough, except for a very tiny portion of the wave, it is almost exclusively below the line. The normalize display settings change that but very slightly. For the most part the underlying sample for the prog is fm 01.flac. I looked at the sample and I'd say the 1st fifth of the cycle is above 0 and the remainder is below, except for a smidgeon at the very end.
  22. I was just looking at the TD-27 Quick Start Manual/Guide. It looks like you can use the TD-27's usb port to get audio into the PC: I am guessing that you would would get better audio from that than using the analog audio jacks. I just started looking at the manual, though. I have not looked at the TD-27's Reference Guide, but that and the Quick Start Guide should be required reading for you. Looks like a nice setup! Enjoy !!
  23. MIDI is digital data which you can use to send note data, sound parameter control data, etc. to devices such as hardware synths and software synths. To record the audio from hardware synths (including drum synths) you need to take the audio output of the synth and route it as audio into your PC. For example, (1) PC sends midi data to synth, (2) synth sends audio into PC. If you want to use a soft synth to play the MIDI data you captured from a hardware drum kit, you can do that, too. There are various ways to insert a soft synth into cakewalk. If you already recorded the MIDI data on a MIDI track, one option is to insert a soft synth / instrument and point the output of the MIDI track to the soft synth using the Output "Widget" / Track Control. There are other options depending on your workflow. For example, you can first insert an Instrument Track and record the MIDI to that. But the basic idea is that you need to have either a hardware or software synth seeing the MIDI data.
  24. Quick thanks for the initial question, the follow-up questions and for the abundance of details and limitations presented in the discussion. I had a different task--how to send MIDI data from a usb keyboard to both (1) a soft synth in an Instrument Track (note data and CCs) and at the same time to (2) Audio FX in the Instrument Track's FX bin. I realize this is not the same as the goal of this thread, but the information was very helpful nevertheless. I ended up going old school and using a strategy from a number of years ago (insert a MIDI track to route the CCs), but all the details in the discussion helped me to think through many of the settings I needed consider. If I ever get around to doing a MIDI signal flow chart, I will include details from this thread. Very helpful stuff here!!!
