any tool to get the tempo of an audio clip?
DeeringAmps replied to micv's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Studio, that's the upgrade to what we got with Sonar, right? t -
@Carlos Ok I did some critical listening with the DT990's (open back) & DT770's (closed back). I felt there was no discernible difference in the HP-60 and the UFX headphone outs. Now true story, at 68 my ears are "compromised" and not just by age. I have more than "just a bit" of tinnitus; so take what I experienced with that in mind. What I was surprised by was how close the DT's were. Both are very "present" in a good way, with well defined low end. I also tried some K270's, Ultrasone 650's (very thin actually), neither were as "present", nor as balanced in the low end. I have a set of Sony MD something, these are retro fitted (can't remember the vendor) with "cuffs" that pretty much let no bleed out. I use these when tracking vocals or acoustic guitar. Better than the K270 and Ultrasones, put not near as present as the DT's. I do hope this helps in your quest. Do I remember right, we discussed the DT's in a thread before, and you, at the time, were not a fan? tom

@dantarbill Is this an average for the whole song or does it show the tempo changes? t -
@Carlos Longtime RME user here. BabyFace in the office (the original), UFX in the studio (again, the original; as I said, longtime user). The DT-990's sound great on the BabyFace in the office (headphone output). In the studio UFX outputs 1-2 drive the Adam A7's and outputs 3-4 drive a Presonus HP-60 headphone amp; all good, all around. I'll take the 990's out to the studio today and compare the HP-60 to the UFX headphone outs, then report back. In the studio everything is "closed back" for tracking, not "ideal" for critical listening... tom

Paul, It might be necessary to change the parent folder. If I’m following you right, it sounds like you are doing a “save as” but in the same folder ie: Song/song-v1.cwp then versions -v2 -v3 etc remain in the same folder? The earlier versions point to all the takes, edits etc. if you save as Song V4/song-v4.cwp only the files for that version will be saved. hope that all makes sense. t

On the Bose cans here the bass guitar is a little light (not well defined), and Bose are pretty "hyped" in the low end. Otherwise well done man! t Welcome to the forum...

Exactly, its a file size thingy; no worries! @bjornpdx pretty much said it all as far as a critique, so I will simply comment as a "listener"; WOW! This is definitely at least a Top 5er in your catalog Wooks! Furred, fuzzy goody goodness! and then some! I just got hit by the "bomb" (6ish on the counter), way kooooool... Ok, I gotta make one critical comment, and it ain't critical by any means; the sound stage is just gorgeous! Wookiee, man oh man... t thumbs just wouldn't say enough

Are you using Drum maps? If the toms aren’t in the map, no sound. t

IK Multimedia Sampletank 4.10 Crashing In Cakewalk
DeeringAmps replied to Starise's topic in Instruments & Effects
You mentioned VST3, maybe I’m late to the party but, SampleTank 3 didn’t work with the VST3, it runs fine with the VST2 dll. I didn’t upgrade to ST4. t -
Actually the correct answer is: Mars Bonfire no “?” mark. As he said, Ed lived the answer. I don’t doubt that! ?

The music plays, but just the one picture. t

You’ve got it right. I would Solo the buss, then solo each panned track to check its “position”. Assuming that you have a stereo effect on the buss, that could be the cause of a “phantom” center. Test each track with the, reverb I’m assuming, on and off. Since the introduction of aux tracks I put the common effect in an aux and send it to the Guitars buss as well. That way each guitar can have it’s own level of effect. t

Do a “save as” and the unused tracks should be “cleaned” up. t

More Doug being Kirby! A little more "dirt" on the vocal this time, eh? I've mentioned this before, A Gray Colored Sky definitely has a "sound" and a "vibe". Note: My ears are not at their much "battered" best lately (tree pollen allergies). The guitar on the left seems to "dominate" just a little too much, use your best judgement. All 'round; more thumbs to ya baby, continue to rock on! t

Welcome to the forum Dave. Not my genre, but I'm thinking this is pretty spot on for Synth-Pop. It grooves right along. First rate vocal, well done. I'm thinking a little top notch mastering and you've got a radio ready single. t

SLAMMED, Please excuse my SHOUTING, but even with your warning, Youch! As I said re: Biro, where do you want to go with this? t

Opus Obscura, I like that! Play that "funky" music, bring that funky guitar up just a bit. Oh I like that breakdown at 3:20 ish. That riff, yeah bass, horns; Yeah, Yeah, Yeah! I don't recognize the speech... Thumbs, thumbs, thumps!!! t
