  1. Is the USB port shutting down? Go into Control Panel and check that. Tom
  2. J.R. Hit the link icon, the chain looking thing, and insert as a link; people are lazy... Hip Hop is not my genre, but all good. A bit abrupt at the end, doubt that's what you had in mind. Like the piano part; that yours, or a loop? Welcome to the forum! tom
  3. Yes, it does. Anything you add becomes a "derivative" work. US Copyright law is very clear on this. The original copyright holder is also the copyright holder of the derivative work; simples! Don't use the tracks, if you don't like the terms... Best advice! t
  4. @Steev KUDOS to the Baker's of Cakewalk! No doubt about it, CbB is an amazing bit of kit! So TTS-1, Studio Instruments, etc for the backing track? t
  5. I find the sophisticated melodies (or is still correct to say sophisticated harmony?) far more interesting than the choice of instrument, but I get you're "demonstrating" that the "modeled" piano can be just as "convincing" as a heavily sampled one. Hell, in the context of a dense rock mix, the TTS-1 works fine for my old (and somewhat compromised) ears. Hearing your "chops" on Clarinet and Piano, I assume you "played" this in? Maybe some "light fixing" of the midi? As always, a big thank you for showing us what can be accomplished with our DAW of choice... tom
  6. "MIDI RECORDING IS EARLY IN DAW CAKEWALK BANDLAB I CANNOT SOLVE" @Delson Azevedo, not the right forum for this question, I use quite a bit of midi and do not have this issue. What interface are you using? You'll need to list some system specifications, and as I said; this is not the correct forum for this... tom thought I put this up over the weekend. fortunately the software hangs on to things you forget to "submit"

    Hobo boots

Giving me a little Top thrill, and I mean that with due respect. A sudden stop at the end, more than I would call a "button tight" ending. (that probably won't translate right) Seeing the Seafoam Green Strat I thought we were going surfing again. Yeah! tom hey guys jump over to YouseTube and give the man a "like", and subscribe it helps in the ratings. Do a brother a favour....
  8. veshung, highlight the string, hit the "link" icon, looks like a piece of chain, and add the link. I think you'll get more action that way. Even I'm a bit lazy, what can I say... Not my genre, but you held me to the end. Good advice above; your tune, your production. tom
  9. oh yeah, and the very special "backfield in motion" Wooks!

    Losing Hope

A+ on the guitar tone, the kick is hitting me. Like that change up in the chorus, yeah man. Piano solo in a metal setting, wowser! tom all ready used my "backfield in motion" for the day, but ? from me...
  11. very Pinkish indeed! Well done, good on ya Wookiee! AAA++++ here... t I'd add two snaps and a backfield in motion but don't stop there!
  12. You need to create a "link" Edey, like this: No Escape Well done, although a little abrupt at the end. Welcome to the forum. tom
  13. I'm going to echo Bjorn's comments as they are "spot on". I get just how much effort goes into making a video, I just spent a ton of time making one, and that's exactly what I ended up with! Yes you did, trust me; I get it! Lather, rinse, repeat; that's what it takes to "get there". So a big "E" for effort from me! Keep 'em coming.... t
  14. Had to look that one up! I've seen the "night shades" in action, that's not pretty. Not sure how the video "relates" to the Witch Trials, but well done, so a thumb there for sure. My one "crit"; this is metal right? The mix is not giving your drummer his due. Where's the kick? That should be "kicking" me in the chest/*****... Overall A+, but I'd like more drums in general, especially that kick. Like another mule been kickin' in my stall tom
  15. I'll echo that! But if I'm honest David, your "country romp" Simple Sam was a little more in my wheelhouse... t
  16. One big "crit" here! Dude, you gotta get the finish off that Casino! I suggest some 80 grit... Oh man! You pulled it off, thumbs to ya! "B" side of Paperback Writer; another great one, have always loved them both... tom
  17. Thanks Hidden, means a lot. You made my day Wooks! You are too kind Rooooooo I consider myself a "principled conservative"! It turns out I did NOT coin the term ? Thank you David That's what music is for, self expression. Sad to hear of your situation; stay strong, stay safe! No way! means a lot Doug, thanks Just finished the video, now I can take a breather. Thanks for the kind words Mark. Then a BIG double thanks to ya Lynn!! Your comments mean a lot Starise, thank you. Yes sometimes we all get a little too riled up. Best to take a deep breath and a step back. We far more in common than we have differences... Thanks one and all for being so generous with your time and ears. Actually Tuesday was the 68th anniversary of my birth (I hate "birthday") Your kind comments and support made it one I will never forget. Please all stay safe, drop your hands one time and any good heavyweight will put you on the canvas. We are all fighting "way above" our weight... Luv ya all, t but that don't mean I want to take long hot showers with ya!

You slay me... If I was a composer/orchestrater; I would harbour a tremendous professional jealousy. t I kid, I kidd... or not
  19. hit the "share" at YouTube, click copy, now ctrl-c that into your post. Don't type in the link, took me "forever' to learn this... t Oh and one more thing; Welcome to the forum! Please share more...
  20. Nice piece of songwriting here, and an uplifting message behind the bleak reality we are facing. I'll echo that the mix is quite good. Now the crit, and a tiny little one at that; I almost let it pass. But, if I'm "behind the glass" on this one I hurt and I ache I'm aching, the world's being shaken I know, probably should have kept that one to myself. ? ✌️ tom the only reason to stay with Cakewalk Sonar - Platinum, is if you are running an x86 system. If you are running an x64 system; jump on in, the water's fine...
  21. A shit kicking romp fer sure; I love it! (I wasn't "censored" today! ?) Well done. t Is that "clicking" on the right side guitar intentional? Pick attack? Overs on the input?
  22. First of all, Welcome to the forum Dennis. I'm going to echo all the comments above, lots of good advice there. You have a "solid" foundation in the tune. Technically, its a bit "rough". Lather, rinse, repeat; meaning record, record, record, you'll get there. As mark said: tom
  23. Before CA2A, lK’s White was a goto. Now, not so much... t

While this definitely has a "British Invasion" vibe about it, to my ears, Doug has his own very unique style. He could post as L'Angelo Misterioso and I'm convinced I would nail it every time! Much like the first time I heard You're So Vain, when Jagger comes in on the chorus; who else could it be? As every one knows I'm a fan; thumbs, Thumbs Doug! t

    Song Copyright

As soon as a work is fixed in a tangible medium of expression, a federal statutory copyright belongs to the author. And although it is not required to register or use a notice of copyright to be valid, it is often very helpful in case of infringement. This is basically what we (my wife, Terri, and I) were told when we had a case of infringement (we were the "injured" party). It was about artwork, not music, but same thing applies. We spent $400 to "threaten" legal action; that would have cost way more that the infringement was "worth". It was the "principle" of the thing. I now apply for copyrights on every piece of artwork we create for her business. I have copyrights on numerous of my tunes, but at today's fees, Hidden's advice is the "best" way to approach it if you feel you need to "protect" your work. It all boils down to money, if you have none, you will lose the legal battle to protect and/or recoup any losses. In answer to the question: For the most part, I very much doubt it. My advice: Post your tunes, if they are truly great, and worthy of commercial exploitation; some one will buy it... HTH, tom Good article here
