Overall I'm in at 1/2 a ?. I've mentioned on the forum before when I see a tune this long I'm looking for ways to shorten it up. I noticed you tagged it "Instrumentals - Film Music" so I can see it playing under the credits as I exit the auditorium. And at the 5ish minute mark things changed... But that's my 1/2 a ? rationalization. Which kit in Superior? Maybe shoulda asked that first ?? MODO sounds pretty damn good. Won't ask which fuzz, frankly I don't miss my Arbiter atall. You did certainly get usable tones, that I must admit. tom

Regi is some pretty big shoes to fill and not just vocally. I was kinda thinking the vocal should come up a bit, but a quick listen to the original... Listen, I struggle with the keys myself, but that hard quantize can suck the life out of it; just sayin'. t

No Longer Blind- Scandalous Grace- New Version
DeeringAmps replied to michaelhanson's topic in Songs
Second today for me in the "worship" genre. Well crafted song I stay; but I'll be honest, a lot of the time I just tune out. This is a well crafted tune so I "hung" around. One crit, (hope you don't mind) the kick is dominating the tune here on my Bose cans. Tonally its great (the kick), its just the loudest element in the mix. If its "right" on your monitors, leave it alone; but I'd check the "translation" on a few systems. Overall ?, dropped a like there at SoundCloud, didn't subscribe; 'cause as I said "worship" is not my genre. But I do "get", and applaud, your efforts... t -
Huge crunchy guitars, busy kick (I love me some busy kick I must say), perfect vocal for this genre. What more can I say. Left a like there at youtube, it don't cost extra ya know gents. t

I think I've mentioned this before, for some reason some of your pieces remind me of the soundtrack to Yellow Submarine. I hope you'll take that as a compliment. As to Kafka, I guess all my taste is in my mouth. Some of the "great" 20th century novelists leave me cold. Salinger, Perfect Day for Banana Fish, really? He wrote ***** in Catcher, BFD. Maybe I've been cooped up to long? Ya think? tom off to curl up on the couch with some good 'ol pulp fiction; I won't have to think...

Tom's suggestions are spot on! There's one note on that acoustic that "buzzes", and I hear it pretty much throughout the song. The eq is probably exacerbating it, but sounds like a setup issue to me (low nut or high fret). Is the acoustic miced or direct to the board? Could be an issue there; resonance or piezo? Love the tune, fine vocal. David Cassidy? I don't think you have any worries there... ? ? t

Another hit Mark! Bass is fine on the Bose cans here, but they do tend to hype the low end. ? t ?

Once Was Love - Original by Without Focus
DeeringAmps replied to steve@baselines.com's topic in Songs
She's a gem. And well done on all levels by Without Focus. ? tom -
As always Jerry, you define what can be done orchestrally, (spell check tells me that's not a word) within a DAW electronically. Thanks once again for sharing. t

As always first class, but that's what we've learned to expect! For some reason it made me think Hot Rats, don't know why, haven't listened in many a year (only Zappa that I have the vinyl, but not the CD). Anyway, big thumbs here from me! t

Just a little fun... Remixed track from the late 90's - Replaced Gtrs with Kemper
DeeringAmps replied to PJH's topic in Songs
Yeah? Jon Anderson maybe? Very impressed Peter, top to bottom excellent in every way. Tone to die for, no doubt; doesn't hurt that it was well played. t I don't need a Kemper, I don't need a Kemper; maybe if I repeat this over and over I'll convince myself... Lucky You! -
Well done, but not sure that you have the tempos intense enough at times maybe. Scoring to film is way above my pay grade, so take that with a grain of salt. I did enjoy the listen and good luck with your entry. tom

I think I get it. Being of a "certain age" I think I get the whole thing. Well done Bjorn! Glad you brought it "up to date" and are happy with the results (and why wouldn't you be!) ? t

<whispered> Your secret is safe with us Jesse. Great to have you back! </whispered> ? t tomorrow in the stars is a good one too. Yikes, I forgot to whisper!

<character flaw> When I see a 5 minute track I just can't help myself, I put on my "producer's" hat, and start planning my edits. </character flaw> But I have to say by the end of the track I'd pitched the hat and just listened. Well done mates! Print it. ? t

I totally agree with you, but evidently not all VST3's are created equal... t

Great job! good luck there, I just didn't "bond" with any of the others DAWS I tried. But to be honest, once a workflow is ingrained. well you get the picture... tom

Yeah, and its great! (But I hear just a tiny wink and nod to Bang A Gong in that intro; intentional or not? its cool!) Well done Barry! tom +1 for "I miss that part" the outro is grrreat!
