Live To Tell - Enough | Dealing with Anxiety During a Pandemic
DeeringAmps replied to Martin Barret's topic in Songs
Nice piece of songwriting here, and an uplifting message behind the bleak reality we are facing. I'll echo that the mix is quite good. Now the crit, and a tiny little one at that; I almost let it pass. But, if I'm "behind the glass" on this one I hurt and I ache I'm aching, the world's being shaken I know, probably should have kept that one to myself. ? ✌️ tom the only reason to stay with Cakewalk Sonar - Platinum, is if you are running an x86 system. If you are running an x64 system; jump on in, the water's fine...- 7 replies

A shit kicking romp fer sure; I love it! (I wasn't "censored" today! ?) Well done. t Is that "clicking" on the right side guitar intentional? Pick attack? Overs on the input?

First of all, Welcome to the forum Dennis. I'm going to echo all the comments above, lots of good advice there. You have a "solid" foundation in the tune. Technically, its a bit "rough". Lather, rinse, repeat; meaning record, record, record, you'll get there. As mark said: tom

I’m not seeing that in the office (2020.4) Win 10 Home up to date, or in the studio (2020.1) Win 10 Pro not up to date. “If it ain’t broke...” Sounds like something else is wrong. tom

Before CA2A, lK’s White was a goto. Now, not so much... t

While this definitely has a "British Invasion" vibe about it, to my ears, Doug has his own very unique style. He could post as L'Angelo Misterioso and I'm convinced I would nail it every time! Much like the first time I heard You're So Vain, when Jagger comes in on the chorus; who else could it be? As every one knows I'm a fan; thumbs, Thumbs Doug! t

As soon as a work is fixed in a tangible medium of expression, a federal statutory copyright belongs to the author. And although it is not required to register or use a notice of copyright to be valid, it is often very helpful in case of infringement. This is basically what we (my wife, Terri, and I) were told when we had a case of infringement (we were the "injured" party). It was about artwork, not music, but same thing applies. We spent $400 to "threaten" legal action; that would have cost way more that the infringement was "worth". It was the "principle" of the thing. I now apply for copyrights on every piece of artwork we create for her business. I have copyrights on numerous of my tunes, but at today's fees, Hidden's advice is the "best" way to approach it if you feel you need to "protect" your work. It all boils down to money, if you have none, you will lose the legal battle to protect and/or recoup any losses. In answer to the question: For the most part, I very much doubt it. My advice: Post your tunes, if they are truly great, and worthy of commercial exploitation; some one will buy it... HTH, tom Good article here

Presonus HP-60 here. Actually one at the console and another in the booth; everyone always wants more me. ("go ahead, turn you up as load as you can stand it!"). (Tried a Mackie in the booth, way tooooo noisy.) That coupled with TotalMix; lots of versatility. Mix A and Mix B plus a stereo input on each of 6 outs. works for me.... t

Yikes! That was disturbing. But, in a "good" way. Keep it up... t

Some mad chops from both of you! Many thanks for sharing t I've mentioned this in the past. My wife's uncle was the "principle" clarinetist for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra for many years. According to uncle Dick; the "principle" clarinetist is the stud lead guitar player of the Symphony. I'm sure Symphony politics is the same as Band politics; every one thinks they are the band. He also liked the word legit musicians, I read that as: not a card caring union member; not legit. FZ, he sure loved legit musicians... why am i writing this? why am I asking you? I guess that's what we get with 10:43, too much idle time to muse (amuse?). all done, well done! sorry

Another to lower the blood pressure today. Thanks for that! Well done... tom

Now this seems to have the "big box" guitar tone; am I right? As always, very sexy sax, man we gotta keep him away form my wife! many thumbs from here! t
-
Yes indeed, yes indeed! Very well done, thank you for putting them up. You're sax man hires out? t

Marie O'Conor* is tapping her toes to this! There's been a couple of stutters on my end almost like its out of time for a moment. Internet traffic I'm betting... Likewise maybe the "quick" end to the fadeout, iTunes tends to "chop" things off below a certain level; SoundCloud do the same? t *Marie O'Conor; me wee maternal Irish **seanmháthair iontach ** my long deceased great grand mother

+ a bunch to that. I'll echo the comments so far. Reverb isn't an issue here, would something else be different; yes. Better; well, like many, I own way too many..... t

Bjorn pretty well sums it up. Not my genre, but props my man. Pretty loud now, don't over squish it; just my nickel98 as far as advice goes... props indeed! t

The Muse tapped me on the shoulder Friday Morning... COCKYWOMBLE Just a note of warning: may contain what some might consider Leftanista sentiments. If you are easily offended, maybe take a pass. This was "quick and dirty", but all crits are welcomed and much appreciated. tom

Yep! Came thru on my wife's facebook feed (I don't "book"), so I had seen it already. Ray Stevens with a message... t Actually there is a very interesting documentary on how the royalties on Lion were stolen. Kind of like Richard Berry giving away ownership of Louie Louie; well he did get $750 - that was a "steal". I'll post a link if I can find it.

For me the distraction is that first kick, it hits pretty hard. I don't know, keeps the song building... BTW, Very nicely done! ? t

I'm liking that bass! A little more "grind" on that B3 and we'd be in Jon Lord territory! Oh yeah, now I'm getting a "Purple" vibe here for sure! You've covered a lot ground in three minutes; my kinda track! Big Thumbs from me.... tom
