  1. Really good instrumentation going on here John. Love the horns. I always like your lyrics, no exception here. The voc has some high notes and then some pretty low notes. Maybe keep the pitches within the same range. Just a suggestion. -Bjorn
  2. Simple but quite a catchy melody. Could you post the lyrics please? I only picked up a few words which is probably due to my hearing loss. Thanks -Bjorn

    A Musical?

That's AI? The last time I checked on vocal AI it was terrible. But this sounds pretty decent. So you can download Synthesizer V and use it on your own computer? -Bjorn
  4. Nothin' cheesy about this song (ha ha) I don't understand guitar speak but whatever you did with the instrument, it sounds really good. Great job on this one. -Bjorn
  5. Really well developed song. Sounds great! -Bjorn

    Asha - video

Thanks every one. I appreciate the comments. Wookie - I'd love to hear what you come up with in an Eastern tone and scale. Johnbee - The vocal were not part of NI India library but from Loopmasters. If you want some really nice female vocal phrases I'd suggest the Vocalise libraries from Heavyocity. Best ones out there IMO.
  7. Treesha I like the unprocessed sound of your voice (at least that's how it comes across to me). But I think it could do with more treatment, bit more reverb or doubling, something like that. Very nice cadence to the lyrics - fits the music well. I kept hearing a reggae marching band in the background which actually works for me. Nice job. I like it. -Bjorn

    Asha - video

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Always appreciated! tom - I was wondering if anyone would notice Ravi Shankar's missing finger! -Bjorn
  9. One of those songs that sticks in your head for a while and that's a good thing. So, just an opinion from a casual listener here but I think the piano follows the melody a bit too much, like it's competing with the vocal. The voc might stand out better if the piano weren't as prominent. -Bjorn
  10. Good question. Shouldn't have done this, could have done that. Stuff that eats at you until you realize again there's nothing you can do about it. Good song Jack. Bit repetitive in spots but that's ok. -Bjorn
  11. Still sounds very good. You're lucky to have a video of the performance (great performance btw}. Nowadays it's so easy to record everything, but back then not so much. -Bjorn
  12. Sounds pretty darn good to me Kevin! A+ -Bjorn
  13. John, great lyrics as always, not just the words but how they're constructed too. And I always enjoy how the accompanying instruments in your songs respond to those lyrics. Wonderful job. -Bjorn

Old Joad and KS Thank you!
  15. Nigel, Great production as usual but something didn't work for me. I think the disturbing visuals didn't quite match the more upbeat sound of the music, something like that. Just my opinion though. -Bjorn

Rik, beautiful song beautifully played. Very nice! -Bjorn

    Trust

Larry, to my mind the drums stood out a bit too much at the beginning. I didn't think the bass was all that distorted, but the level could be turned down. The note bending strings around 1:25 is really cool. I think you could develop that section more. I agree with RikF - more harmonica! Seems like my mood always improves after listening to your songs! -Bjorn
  18. The way a guitar should sound. Very nice! -Bjorn
  19. Not my Life A showcase for your excellent guitar work, not just the mechanics of it but the emotion behind the playing. Don't know what else I could add - it's a professional production all around. -Bjorn

    Asha - video

Asha I've always liked the mystical sound of Indian music so here's another attempt to sound like a sitar. I used midjourney to create the still images in the video. If you don't know, midjourney is an AI site where you type in some text and it returns an image. Not bad except for the occasional results of people with 3 arms and weird fingers. Indian instruments from NI India library. Indignus Renegade Falcon Thanks for listening/comments. -Bjorn
  21. Has to be Windows if you build the computer yourself. I'm comfortable with Windows, unlike Mac where I'm totally lost. -Bjorn
  22. Thanks Wookie Thanks Steve. I thought about making a video but a new computer got in the way. So much stuff (and time) to move everything over to the new computer! -Bjorn

    Just Bones

Love that accompaniment bit in the background! The vocal track comes across really well. Not too much treatment on it so it sounds unpretentious and honest. Great job. -Bjorn
  24. Hi John Great lyrics as usual. Not a "down" sound at all. Well done orchestration. Don't have any suggestions Sounds very good as is. -Bjorn
  25. Rex I really like your voice (as always) That oooo bgv at the beginning and elsewhere worked well. I think a more consistent theme throughout would work better, but that's purely subjective. ~2:00 and 5:07 Best part of the song but only there for a few measures. Moody Blues-y. 2:25 Kind of a jarring change IMO ~3:00 Creaking door? Oh, opening it with a key as in the title? Always enjoy listening to your well-produced and well-performed songs. -Bjorn
