Great song! You're going to have to write a song every anniversary from now on you know.? -Bjorn

Starfield - an intergalactic space voyage. I'm declaring this one finished after way too many changes and versions. Thanks for listening/comments. -Bjorn

Lynn, Great title. In parts of the song, the orchestral instruments brought to mind a soundtrack from a 40s movie with an actor telling a story over flashbacks from the past. Probably not what you intended and just my off the wall point of view. I thought the orchestral instruments worked well (that bit around 1:50 ?) and the vocal track is up to your usual high standards. The repeated lyrics near the end would work better if just the last word or two in the phrase were used. IMO. -Bjorn

The flute stands out really well, one of the better sampled instruments I've heard. Very nice melody on top of a jazzy score. Bonus: The birder that I am had to ID the bird in the picture. It's an Eastern Yellow Robin that lives in Australia. -Bjorn

Steve, Well I guess you've expressed your feelings pretty well here and I totally understand what you're saying. I was one of those people once and I'll regret it forever. Very nice guitar work and a clear voc delivery. Great video too! I'm amazed you were able to get so many images that fit the lyrics. BTW I don't think you needed to put the warning on the vid. -Bjorn

Good story, great music and video. I appreciate how the lyrics stand out so well. Terrific work on this. -Bjorn

Thanks all. Appreciate the comments. Larry T - I was going to extend the ending, but I forgot. What else is new. Thx for pointing that out. Treesha - yep, there's something almost mystical about the landscape in that area. -Bjorn

Hi Kevin, I don't believe I've ever seen that effect in a video before. Kind of mesmerizing. The soundtrack meshes really well with the story and I like the lyrics text popping up the way you did it. Great job! -Bjorn
-
Professional level production. Sounds great! I could hear the orchestra bits and they fit in well with the band. -Bjorn

Treesha , the picture and music make me imagine a pagan gathering at Stonehenge at summer solstice. Nice choice of instruments and melody lines that bring out mysterious doings. Wasn't sure at first about the percussive hits which seemed too metronome-like but they would work well as a soundtrack IMO. I'm still thinking of pagans dancing around a fire at Stonehenge here. Well done. -Bjorn

Rex, you really don't need to doubt your abilities. You always put out some great songs and this one might be my favorite of yours. Seems to me it doesn't really need any tweaks except maybe on the low end? Wasn't sure I heard anything in the bass range, not that there needs to be anything there. -Bjorn

Thanks. I appreciate the comments. -Bjorn

I'm not familiar with the Malevolent synth (great name) but I have a couple of software MS-20's that I really like. Been thinking of getting a mini like you have. Nice demo. -Bjorn

Makke, you do a nice job with your arrangements and playing of traditional folk songs. Great job. -Bjorn

The Open Road Just a nice melody to listen to while driving down a lonely highway in Utah and Arizona. NI Sunburst NI Strum Ilya Efimov guitar Trillian AD

Well what can I say? Another well polished and professional production from Devine Lie. Well done, Nigel -Bjorn

Impressive performance and well produced. Mix is really good except IMO the voc needs to come up a bit more. Nice job -Bjorn
-
Great mix that hits you from the very 1st measure! Love the prechorus to chorus transition. Excellent all around. -Bjorn
-
Nice backing track and chord changes. Vocal needs to be more forward in the mix. I never understand all the lyrics (but could be due to my hearing loss) Well done. -Bjorn

Actually I liked the long intro. There's a drum hit (eg 1:37) that's a little distracting. The horns work really well Abrupt end. As always I like the upbeat feel of your lyrics Freddy. Nicely done. -Bjorn
-
Larry, Very nice and well mixed but it didn't sound particularly tropical to me. Maybe slow down the tempo a bit? Add in some ocean surf sounds and Hawaiian guitars and there you go. ? -Bjorn
-
Thanks everyone for the comments Steve - yeah, lots of women bashing back then, supposedly in a humorous way Steve @baselines - they had Cocaine Candy back then - I think I was born too late freddy - it's always the profits Nigel - my wife was a little put off when I ran the video past her. Old Joad - I used OBS studio to capture the videos off YouTube and GreenShot to capture the still images. Then DaVinci Resolve for the vid. John - I still can't believe that Winston ad! -Bjorn
-
I like the historic audio and the song certainly has a strong beat. After a while I kind of wanted to hear more variation in the beat and maybe another lead synth on top. Well, just my opinion. Enjoyed the listen. -Bjorn

Inappropriate Ads While browsing I came across some TV and magazine advertisements from the past that would definitely not be okay today. I put a few of them in a short video and added a tune I wrote about 20 years ago for the soundtrack. Can't believe some of the drug ads! -Bjorn
