I am so tired of this NI Native Access version 2.
90% of the time it will not load.
The problem appears to be a service NTKDeamon or something.
I have learned in the past if I manually start it the program install its dependencies and loads.
But that doesn't always work. Then I uninstall reboot and install to get updates.
Can't this mega company get things right anymore?
I finally opened a ticket with NI because I was having horrendous issue with load times for both NA and Kontakt.
They suggested the following which vastly improved things.QuoteReset the Service Center .XML files manually
1. Navigate to C:/Program Files/Common Files/Native instruments/Service Center
2. Move the .xml files in this folder to the trash.
3. After this is done, launch Native Access to create a new set of .xmls and restart your computer.
4. Try opening KONTAKT again to see if the issue has been resolved.
Reinitialize the KONTAKT Database
1. Click the Windows start button at the bottom left of your screen.
2. Type "%localappdata%" and click the option that appears.
3. Navigate to the Native Instruments folder.
4. Then delete the following folder:
KONTAKT 7: "Kontakt 7"5. Start KONTAKT 7 in standalone mode (not in your DAW). If KONTAKT still crashes, proceed with the next chapter.
Note that once the XMLs and Database has been reset, please be sure to open the Kontakt standalone app first. The first load time may take longer, but once the database has been rebuilt, the load times should be much faster going forward.~~~~~~~~~~
If the issue persists, first please delete the User Registry entries of Native Access and the NTKDaemon:
1. Click the Windows Start button at the bottom left side of your screen.2. Type "regedit" into the search field, then press Enter to open the Windows Registry Editor.
3. In the Registry Editor, navigate the folder structure to this location and locate the folder for the NI product that is crashing:
4. HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Native Instruments >
5. Delete the "Native Access" and the "NTK" entries
Then please clear the Native Access cache by deleting the following folders:
1. Click the Windows Start Button on the bottom left of your screen.2. Type %localappdata% and press Enter.
3. This will open the following folder location: C: > Users > *Your User Name* > AppData > Local
4. go into the Native Instruments directory and delete the "Native Access" and the "NTK" folders
I only ended up doing the first half (prior to ~~~~~) but now they load in around a minute instead of 5 to 10 minutes.

Yes, seems interesting, but the price that @Walter Cruz shared ($ 17.02) has changed... ?
3 hours ago, Vernon Barnes said:It is, but it seems very good for highly effected parts, it will have its uses! I managed to pick it up for$17.02 +VAT, less some loyally points from Best Service.
I suspected the pricing was a glitch (either that or they were allocated a limited number to sell at that price) and that all of these sales will sooner than later evaporate.
Some of the voicings/patches are crap but I like a couple (like the steel string acoustic strumming) enough that I thought it was worth picking up and so I grabbed a copy after seeing Walter's post.@PavlovsCat raises some good points though I strongly disagree with at least couple of his choices.
But as they say YMMV, what works for me may not work as well for you.-

Must have been one of those mispricing flash in the pan deals - price now $79
Shame, the demo videos sound decent.-

You get one each time you buy something ?
They do expire if you don't use them though.
I did not get one (another $25 coupon) for my $14 purchase of DBX 160...
Let me know how UA responses.

Already spent my $25 voucher on the DBX160, so unless they do PA style coupon reactivation I'm sitting on the sidelines for this one.

All of pending* updates on my system already required Kontact 7.6 - so that not new for me.
The only new change is Support for NKS2 navigation.*Noire, Stradivari Cello, Stradivari Violin

This any better that the GForce String Machine?
I took a look at my GForce SM and remembered why I never use it.
It's so incredibly meeeehhh. The GUI sucks, the presets suck, there's no easy way to audition the individual voices or presets that do exist.
The final release feels like an Alpha that got pushed into final release because they didn't want to spend more money on development.
If I knew what every component synth sounded like where I could approach things as a chef - this tune needs a dash of 30% Roma tomatoes / 70% Campari tomatoes, I'd be more impressed.
Of course YMMV (but I doubt it).-

The vocal samples sound familiar... anyone know the original source?

I was having issues with posting on the forum, but as of the last couple of days no issues with Edge or FireFox.

Yeah, I contacted them. Their recommendation? Buy the new version as the one I have is long defunct and no records of purchases that old exist.
LOL I still that 2012 'relic' on my system. When I fire it up it requires re-activation - and IIRC it won't.
Probably should delete it as I can't/don't use it.
At one point I had a number of MiniMoog freebies but never used them so at some point I stopped moving them from computer to computer as I upgraded hardware.
Nowadays I do have the newer Arturia version and couple of other substitutes but
If I'm looking for a Minimoog type sound I usually just use my old LinPlug /Rob Papen Albino 3 - still love that plugin.

New plugins are quite disk friendly. I wish Drum Empire was split into several packages so I could install parts of it. I can't carry it around on my laptop as things are.
100% agree. I was referring to the MSF library, perhaps I should have been more clear.
But it really wasn't a real complaint, I appreciate Melda's continued push to enhance existing products.
Currently I don't have any of the MSF stuff installed due to disk space constraints, but at some point that will change. -

As much as I'm not a Waves advocate, they extended on the original design/hardware quite well with this plugin in that regard. It just gives people choice.. keep it simple like the original, or use the extra stuff it it helps and works with the particular track.
Nice example with PA too. They do that well on their plugins.
I love Overloud and how the add more controls to their originals also.
Arturia is handy for some of their addional controls as well.
Another good example is PSP Audio, when doing hardware emulations - for example with their PSP FETpressor
Currently my favorite 1176 plugin.-

I really wish plugin manufacturers would add modern settings like M/S, Dry/Wet Mix, Input/Output, etc. to every plugin these days. Much like Plugin Alliance does with their Toolbar thing. There's really no excuse, especially with these big manufacturers. A plugin of modeled hardware is great, but why not modernize it with features that every plugin should have available now?? I mean, come on, they obviously know how to do these things.

100% agree. It's sad that UA a company once known for its innovation in the audio field has shown such a lack of it when it comes to their software products.

Julius II and Michelangelo, on his work on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel:
Pope Julius II : When will you make an end?
Michelangelo : When I am finished! It'll be ready when it's done, regardless of how much you want it now.
In the meantime if there is a killer sale on an upgrade buy it and sit on it.
Steinberg licenses become effective upon registration not when purchased.
