Also, if I have understood correctly, the Musio instruments are based on the Cinesamples instruments, they are not exactly the same. Musio instruments have (currently) only one mic position and at least in some cases less articulations. The Musio player is supposed to be easier to use then Kontakt, but offers less control and options.

They have a 30 day free trial, no credit card needed.   I signed up to check it out.
It uses Musio VST3, not Kontakt.   Haven't had a chance to play with it enough yet to know if I like it or not.

  2. So is Musio offering the Cinesample libaries (including the Kontakt ones)?
Or are these 'Musio' versions of Cinesample libaries?

Edit: was looking at CineBrass Horns of the Deep and that's a Kontakt 5.8.1 library and included w / Musio package.

Edit2: signed up for trial and Musio is using their own player/VST3, not Kontakt.

Is it weird that I wouldn’t even be interested at the glitch price?

On the serious side though, no.

I thought about it for a couple of minutes - it would add maybe 5 native plugins that I could live without and all the Apollo plugins provided I picked up an interface.
But I don't have the interface and I'm not ready to go running down that rabbit hole, at least for a while.
So I went and had brunch and when I came back the deal was gone.  Was kind of like when I go to the store and see that fancy $400 bottle of scotch.  Would it be nice to have it - yeah.  Am I going to go into debt or turn my life upside down to get it - no.  I give it a sigh & a wink and move on...

    It's called shock.

People experience it after horrific accidents or missing out on rare plugin deals.

In the meantime just try to remember that tomorrow is another day and another deal will eventually come along.

Yeah, Kore 1 and Kore 2 were essentially the same thing. Slight differences but amazing products!

It boggles my mind why NI got rid of them.  I remember there was an uproar amongst Kore owners when NI stopped supporting it. Owners had important Kore sound packs that they paid for… but they couldn't use them any more.  Not one of NI’s best moves.

Yeah I still have my Kore 2, it's sitting in my closet on the pile of honored dead hardware.  ?

  7. ^^ Yes, you can uninstall UA Connect and they will still run fine.

I did that after I got the 1st synth, but as I started collecting them (UAD plugins) I just left it installed.
At some point I may uninstall it again, depends on how often they update their plugins.

SInce Christian is gone they must have stopped the Monthly LABS instrument.
It's now been 4 months since the last release.

or it may have nothing to do with it...

Labs currently has 62 instruments - that's a lot of time/money spent on a freebie.
Could be that the cost of developing new freebies is no longer viewer as an effective use of capital
or maybe they're running out of good ideas for new ones and don't want to start throwing crap into the pond.

or they're just diverting talent into upcoming projects that'll generate $.

It is the silver model without a mix knob, the high frequency emphasis knob and, I would assume, less presets.

20 hours ago, @Lionel  said (from the older thread on this plugin):
    Drew [from UAD] also mentions:
It’s the silver algo with the legacy GUI. We've removed the Mix control and fixed the Emphasis control in a sweet spot.

So it's kind of an 'easy' version of the Silver and has a full preset list - slightly different presets from Silver (some but not others, and some unique presets).

I've demo PatchWork, the only major issue I have with it... is no plugin browser! Instead, it requires you manually find the plugins in the folders for your .dll or .vst3 files... Waves Audio Bundles are hard to search thru because I've got over 10 of them and each has several plugins inside!  It's a major pain to find plugins using PatchWork.   The owner says once you do load it... just save it as a preset and you'll be able to find it faster later ----->>> and I'm thinking... I've gotta make over a million or so presets???

Not as easy as it sounds.
The problem with shell plugins like Waves is that you need VST scanner (not a file browser) to access the plugin list of the contained plugins and that would take a lot of  overhead (a scanner, a database of some kind to hold the data, maintenance options i.e. when to scan, etc.) and somewhere there'd be time lag penalty when it did the scan where a lot of users would think PatchWork was broken or buggy.   So even though I have Wave's Mercury I don't blame BlueCat for not having a more elegant solution.

If your Waves WUP is up to date on all your Waves plugins you can ignore all the older pre15 (or whatever version they're on right now) WaveShell versions and that will cut down what you'll need to check out.

No offense, cclarry, but I wouldn't recommend that product myself.

Even though it advertises as a shortcut to actually doing it yourself... your better off to do it yourself as this product was in a bundle of products I bought last year on a deal... and I played with it a bit, then tossed it away down the black hole where it will never come alive again!

Similar experience. I demo'd Mirror last time it was on sale and immediately deleted it from my system.

If you're still interested do yourself a favor and try the demo:  https://unitedplugins.com/Mirror

Think I'm sticking with my Overloud Gem version.

Can't believe I'm at the point of not installing every freebie anymore ?

I don't have the GEM version but I've heard it's CPU use is lower AND it has features (Mid/Side control, parallel compression, multilevel undo-redo, etc.) not in the UAD versions.
