Feature Request - About the Controller Lane Pane
Promidi replied to sergedaigno's topic in Feedback Loop
That is a separate issue and should be started as a new thread. (note: I think this is by design. For now, If you want the lanes to remain, add some events.) -
Feature Request - About the Controller Lane Pane
Promidi replied to sergedaigno's topic in Feedback Loop
You can do this. Open up Preferences - MIDI - Instruments Then click “Define”. In the “Define Instruments and Names” Window, in the right pane, click + to open “Controller Names” In that list, you should see “Standard”. Click + to open “Standard” The names that are listed there are what will appear in the controller lane names for controllers. These are global for those Hardware MIDI ports where there are no controller names defined in any loaded instrument definition file. What would be handy is if you could define Controller names on a per VSTi basis. (I have feature requested this, but I am not holding my breath). -
Channel Number for Non-note MIDI Events
Promidi replied to Keith Wilby's topic in Instruments & Effects
Yes, Just checked the docs and you are right. (I am ok with this as I have another method of rechanneliing MIDI events on a track) I am wondering if the “Event Inspector” should be renamed to “Note Inspector”. It is very likely that any newcomer to Cakewalk, would probably expect an “Event” Inspector to operate on all MIDI Events, regardless of whether those events are note, CC, RPN, NRPN , etc. vents. Though, I can forsee a feature request coming up to enable the Event Inspector to change the MIDI Channel of all selected MIDI events that can have a Channel assigned. -
Channel Number for Non-note MIDI Events

Just tried it with Splat...... Event Inspector only changes the MIDI Channels of Note Events there as well..... -
Channel Number for Non-note MIDI Events
Promidi replied to Keith Wilby's topic in Instruments & Effects
Just did a test. I created multiple MIDI events (notes, CCs, NRPNs) with different MIDI channels in the same MIDI track I then selected the track. I then used the Event Inspector to change the MIDI channels to the same channel - it only changed the Notes - even though the CCs, NRPNs events were also selected. In all this time I never noted this - probably because I don't use the Event Inspector to change MIDI channels. The reason I don't use the Event Inspector to change MIDI channels is because I do a lot of bouncing of MIDI clips. Because of my configuration that always rechannels all events in all selected tracks to match the channel of the MIDI track that the events are in. If changing MIDI channels via the Event Inspector is important to you then lodge a ticket with CW support. -
Yes..... I use the following. Either use keybindings to standard functions (via measure, markers, or arrangement section) Or, in the case of specific amounts quarter notes, half notes, etc, I write a CAL script and then create a keybindings to that CAL script.

Nomad Factory plugins from Sonar Platinum?
Promidi replied to Bill C's topic in Instruments & Effects
Maybe open up the Cakewalk Command Centre and reinstall the “Studio Mixing FX Suite” (which contains the Cakewalk specific Nomad Bundle. -
Channel Number for Non-note MIDI Events
Promidi replied to Keith Wilby's topic in Instruments & Effects
What I do is create a MIDI track and set its MIDI channel to a specific channel. Also in Preferences - File - Initialisation File (Advanced), I add the option to RechannelMIDI to 1. Then when I bounce MIDI clips in that track to a single MIDI clip, it changes the channel of all events in the resultant MIDI clip to the MIDI track’s MIDI channel. You can also use the Event Inspector to change the MIDI channels of all selected MIDI events to a single MIDI channel. -
Nomad Factory plugins from Sonar Platinum?
Promidi replied to Bill C's topic in Instruments & Effects
I have the Nomad Plugins that came with Sonar Platinum. I have always been able to open them in Cakewalk by Bandlab without them asking for a licence key. Did you leave Sonar Platinum installed on your PC? The Nomad Plugins that came with Sonar Platinum require Sonar Platinum to be installed to open and be usable in Cakewalk by Bandlab. -
Use the VI61 Editor for Windows to assign the mod wheel on Alesis VI61 to CC7

Was ripple edit enabled at the time?

I just tried writing pan automation using Meldaproduction MStereoProcessor. The automation remained (and played back) when I paused or stopped. So it works fine here. Any chance of a video screen grab showing the issue. Also, mention when your version of Cakewalk.

Yeah. GUI Fonts still way too small.....

I would expect for an MSRP of $AU599.00 that NI could at least make an effort in this area....
-
I have just checked out Kontakt Player 6. Man those a small fonts. How do you folks cope on anything bigger than a 1080p screen? I hope 7 improves on that. I guess we can ask those who pulled the trigger on Komplete 14 on the 27th for a unscaled screenshot.....

Nomad Factory - Delete a preset from menu?
Promidi replied to Steve_Karl's topic in Instruments & Effects
Have a look under %USERPROFILE%\documents\Nomad Factory\Plug-in Settings for *.prg files -
I also tried to grab Embertone's Arcane to quality for the €124.00 cross-grade to Kontact 6...... but the “invoices” were not containing the serial numbers to register with NI to confirm the eligibility criteria. Maybe Embertone ran out of serial numbers.

Hi folks, I hope you’re well I know I am probably late to the game, but I may be in a position to pull the trigger on Kontakt 7 Full Since it looks like being released in October, I am holding off acquiring Kontakt 6 Full. I do not have any projects that use any version of Kontakt. I am thinking, why buy 6 now (even though it's on sale at the time of this post) and then pay the upgrade price to 7, when I can just buy 7 after its release date (when it's on sale of course - BF coming up) My question is this. When a new version of Kontakt Full is days away from release, has Native Instruments ever let one buy the current version and then let one update to the next version as part of the package? (Kind of like what Izotope does with RX and Ozone)

Not really a lot to go on here. Can you give us some info about your setup (see my signatuire for some of the info we need). Is Decent Sampler 32bit or 64bit. VST2 or VST3. If VST3, can you try VST2, or vice wersa To open the project without the plugin, With a fresh Cakewalk open, Hold shift while opening a project. Then you can bypass plugins. Are you running Cakewalk by Bandlab 2022.6 Build 34? (The latest) I am assuming you are using the latest version of Decent Sampler, your hardware drivers. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling your hardware drivers (Not just for your Audio interface). Do this using manufacturer's websites rather than Windows updates. While you’re at it, you might as well check you are using the latest versions.

plug-ins is it possible that we can add plugins into cake walk
Promidi replied to the m0nkey's question in Q&A
Plugins - Absolutely! VST2 and VST3. For the highest stability, choose 64bit plugins. If VST3 gives you issues, choose VST2 (if available for given plugin) Soundfonts - depends on the format. These need a plugin. Plogue sforzando comes to mind. https://www.plogue.com/downloads.html#sforzando -
Transform Tool does not respect MIDI event selection.
Promidi replied to Promidi's topic in Feedback Loop
Just tried a transform with the transform rectangle surrounding selected and unselected CC events. Both selected and unselected events transform when changing the transform rectangle. -
As per title. Transform tool adjusts events even if they are not selected. Not sure if this is by design or an oversight.....
-
My mistake. Yes it is version 2. Title corrected

Help please. Windows and CbB crashing after updates of both
Promidi replied to Billy86's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
You have just replied to a two year old thread. You would be better off starting a new thread. Mention your PC configuration and what you have tried so far. -
I might be wrong on this, but I think the reason UVI make us download the whole thing is that UFS files are like image files that contains an entire disk structure - complete with folder and files. It's a bit like changing the content of a zip file or a RAR file, or even a VMWare image file. A program would have open the complete archive, make the change, then re-save the entire archive. Probably not ideal..... but it is what it is. Maybe drop an note to UVI to see if they are open to doing it another way that does not involve downloading humongous files.
