It would depend on your plugins. If they specifically mention that they can use the GPU for their GUIs, then yes, a dedicated video card can help. Meldaproduction plugins com to mind. I did a “GPU enabled/disabled” on Mpowersynth 14.05 and the motion graphics in the GUI were a lot smoother with GPU enabled. Anything to take the load of your main CPU would benefit. Yes, fan noise can be an issue. However, fans usually are more audible while you are gaming (which you won't be doing). When you are using your DAW, they might not even be noticeable (or picked up with any mics) Some graphic cards do not even run the fan while not gaming so these will be completely quiet. I have an Nvidia GTX960 and I have modified the firmware to run that fan at 15% while idling or when using my DAW. Even in the wee hours, I can hardly hear it. Though modifying dedicated video card firmware is not for the faint hearted.

I notice that Windows 10 is not listed among the supported operating systems (with Windows 7 being the latest) See: https://www.casio-intl.com/asia/en/emi/products/ctk3200/ You may need to run compatibility trouble-shooter and have Windows treat the driver as if it were installed on an older version. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/how-to-install-and-update-hardware-drivers-in/a97bbbd1-9973-4d66-9a5b-291300006293

I mean what is your version of windows?

What is your operating system?
-
Well, you need to install the driver in Windows if Cakewalk is to see it. What happened when you tried to install the driver?
-
Did you install the driver for the CTK-3200 and have you confirmed that the CTK-3200 is visible in the Windows device manager under “Sound, video and game controllers”?

How to separate two instruments in the same track?
Promidi replied to Rykken's topic in Instruments & Effects
Yes. Track menu > Bounce to tracks. Under “Channel Format”, select “Split Mono” Don’t forget, you may have to adjust panning on the resultant tracks. -

AmpleSound virtual guitar users: Midi delay compensation??
Promidi replied to Billy86's topic in Instruments & Effects
If you press i to open the inspector for your MIDI track that is routed to AS Taylor, there is a setting right at the bottom where you can add this negative time value. Look for a field named “Time +” and enter a negative value. Granted it’s in ticks, rather than milliseconds, so you will have to to experiment to get this value right. You would want to set your project’s tempo before settling on a value for this “Time +”. This is because the actual delay in milliseconds that a given value gives you will change if you change the project’s tempo. There have been some feature requests to be able to enter an absolute time in milliseconds in the “Time +” field rather than ticks. On a default install of Cakewalk by Bandlab, there are 960 ticks per quarter note. Note: I also change this “Time +” value for MIDI tracks routed to presets where the transient of note sound actually occurs after the note’s trigger time. -
Yes, I always set MIDI track’s MIDI channel to a specific channel rather than “none”. I even have RechannelMIDI=1 added in Preferences - File - Initialization File (Advanced).

I use all 16 MIDI channels from Cakewalk to my external 16 part (16 MIDI channel) multitimbral SW1000XG. It's worked that way for the last 21 years using many iterations of Cakewalk (including CbB 2022.11 Build 21) So Cakewalk definitely sends MIDI events on all 16 MIDI channels.

Kontakt 5.5 Full or later is required.

There are many ways to edit CC events in Cakewalk. My preferred method is to use the Piano Roll View to edit CC64 events. On most synths, CC64 > 0 to 63 is the sustain pedal lifted, CC64 > 64 to 127 is the sustain pedal Pressed. I usually have a CC64 > 0 event at the start of any MIDI track.

I had a $US50 discount - which reduced the price of Percussion factory to $US49.00. In my case, I suspect it was World Suite 2 -

Confirmed. Moving any clip (MIDI or Audio) clears the clipboard. (PC as per sig) This is intended. See:

I just copied an Audio clip to the clipboard. Then I pasted it multiple times to multiple random times and tracks. It worked fine here. At no time did the clipboard empty. At no time did I have to recopy the source.
