  1. I switched to storing my Waves licenses on a USB flash stick as well. Totally portable, and no iLok! And I use the iLok License Manager software, so no dongle for iLok. No Steinbug dongle either. So just the one for Waves. Just don't mess with the Waves partition on the USB stick. The Waves partition on mine is taking up a whopping 249MB. With 14.22GB unallocated on a 16GB USB stick.
  2. One must actually sign in to Google to watch that.
  3. BandLab hosts a user base of 40 million creators globally and the recently announced acquisition of artist services platform ReverbNation. https://caldecottmusic.com/press/9859-introducing-caldecott-music-group I imagine that some of those 40 million BandLab users will eventually decide to take Cakewalk by BandLab for a spin. Judging by many of the questions posted in the Cakewalk forums by new users these days, the wave has already begun.
  4. I bought one WUP to bring my Waves plugs up to the resizable GUI version. But other than that, I'm fine with being WUP-less...
  5. "Sonar X3 Power!" on Amazon, $90-$135, various sellers. https://www.amazon.com/SONAR-X3-Power-Comprehensive-Guide/dp/1305090195/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
  6. "Sonar X3 Power!" $146 on Ebay - Mint condition! https://www.ebay.com/itm/185147669978?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1l43CYbR2SLefRmQM8HkwLw28&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-213727-13078-0&mkcid=2&itemid=185147669978&targetid=4580702890871448&device=c&mktype=&googleloc=&poi=&campaignid=418640321&mkgroupid=1233652283797640&rlsatarget=pla-4580702890871448&abcId=9300602&merchantid=51291&msclkid=7aa5d2b8a21816f3f306b3076835f561
  7. Waves plug don't ever "expire", you just won't get new versions or fixes to the old ones.
  8. I have Scheps Omni Channel and can confirm that is is very well behaved in regards to system resources. Even on my old PC.
  9. I saw a video comparing the features of Scheps and CLA, as they are a bit similar. It might be handy to have both!
  10. Windows 10 will be supported by Microsoft until Oct. 14, 2025. That's the scheduled retirement date, so there's no reason to rush into Windows 11, LOL!!! https://www.pcmag.com/news/microsoft-is-retiring-windows-10-home-and-pro-in-2025
  11. I would suggest taking a good look at Scheps Omni Channel! It's very versatile, and makes anything I have put it on sound better!
  12. Grabbed 'em today! Fuse Audio. Great vintage plugs without any preset options, so that you know they are true vintage, LOL!
  13. OK, well I was thinking of one of the smaller bundles that completes a minor collection with some that you already have. I don't think I would spend that much on Waves. I've always been a bottom fisher at Waves, with the exception of the Abbey Roads Collection, LOL! Love me some free plugs and $29 deals! Or bundle upgrades that are only slightly higher! I have all but 2 of the One Knob series that I acquired one at a time for free!
  14. Good point! And to add to that, Craig's books will always offer a discount for new editions of books that you already own. Although it appears that Sweetwater hasn't sorted that bit yet... Head to PreSonus for the latest edition if you already own the book.
  15. @huskerLook in your Waves account for your bundle upgrade deals. The coupon should be good for those as well in the shopping cart. The upgrades are custom discounted based upon Waves products that you already own. Also, as Larry has pointed out, you can add multiple coupons in your cart, such as "YNY23" for an extra 10% off!
  16. And for those who might be new to Cakewalk, Craig used to work for Gibson and was a frequent Cakewalk forum regular, who provided many useful tips and tricks for using Cakewalk Sonar. He even published a "Big Book of Sonar Tips" back in the day. http://legacy.gibson.com/News-Lifestyle/News/en-us/Download-Cakewalk-Big-Book-of-SONAR-Tips.aspx His departure from Gibson coincided with the great Cakewalk shutdown. He always mentioned that he used several DAWs, including Sonar and Studio One, and his latest book is a compilation of his tips for Studio One users.
  17. And I forgot to mention that I also have the Sonar X3 Power in the Adobe Digital Editions formatted E-Book. Much prefer that to the paper books! Easier to find topics with the direct linked TOC and index. However doesn't look quite as cool as sitting on the bookshelf...
  18. Hey, @Scott R. Garrigus have you seen the new E-book publishing arrangement that Craig Anderton has established with Sweetwater? They might be seeking more music tech authors!
  19. The Huge Book of Studio One Tips & Tricks, by Craig Anderton. $19.95 from Sweetwater Publishing, available in PDF E-book format only. With 171 tips, 492 pages, 477 four-color images, and over 114,000 words, this easy-to-understand book is essential reading for anyone who makes music with Studio One. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AndertonS1-e--sweetwater-publishing-the-huge-book-of-studio-one-tips-and-tricks-e-book-by-craig-anderton
  20. SONiVOX Orchestral Companions. Several articulations, *but no mod wheel expression control. SONiVOX Big Bang Cinematic Percussion. Lots of presets but no drum maps. The samples are good, but the user interfaces? Yikes! https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/sonivox-film-score-companion
  21. That's how AAS gets you, LOL! ?
  22. I was pretty much just into Chromophone, and I originally wasn't going to buy VA3, except that I had already collected quite a few of the AAS player soundbanks for it. Thanks to freebies and bundles. Although I had quite a few other VA synths, I was still intrigued by some of the sounds in the AAS banks, so I jumped! I think it was Daniel Stawczyk's patches that pushed me over the fence!
