Then you would probably enjoy this new VM900 collection. https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/vm900-collection It includes 26 Moog modules to drop into Voltage Modular. It's also available in the Year 3 collection, along with the Oberheim SEM and ARP 2500 modules. https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/cherry-audio-year-three-collection -
Don't forget to search your drive for all those pesky "aax" plugins that you do not need unless you also run Pro Tools. I always find them in an "Avid" folder, and end up dumping the whole thing. There were multiple manufacturers in sub-folders, but I don't remember the datails as I recently cleaned them up. Another folder to watch out for is Steinberg. That seems to be a default location where some manufacturers drop their VST2's . Since I always install my VST2's elsewhere, that is another folder which I regularly dump.

And the Softube Modular virtual Eurorack synth is $49.

ADSR Exclusive - $30 off Cherry Audio Voltage Modular Ignite

That would keep you busy for a very long time! I have the Voltage Modular Core + Electro drums, a few of their standalone synths, and a few modular bundles including the Year 2 Collection, so it will take me a while to digest all of that. The good thing about Cherry is their loyalty to customers. If you buy something that is part of a bundle, they will discount that bundle for you in the future. For instance the Synth Stack 2 upgrade for me is $74.41. So there's really no rush to buy the bundles, as you can go ala carte for a while, then bundle up later! -

ADSR Exclusive - $30 off Cherry Audio Voltage Modular Ignite

I have the Voltage Modular Core + Electro Drums bundle. I started with the free Nucleus package, but was impressed with the workflow and intuitive interface. The Core Plus Electro bundle is only $50 at Cherry right now, with 105+ modules and 600 presets! Voltage wins for ease of use. Cherry also has a lot of additional modules and module bundles, at their traditionally low prices. I had tried VCV Rack and Softube Modular in the past, but Voltage was much easier to get my head around. Softube for $49 probably has a slight edge on overall sound quality, but it could get spendy if you want more modules. One advantage with Softube is that it comes with component-modeled versions of seven analog hardware modules from Doepfer, plus 50 stock modules, from utilities like mixers and multipliers to sequencers and performance panels. And premium modules from other renowned hardware brands are available to expand your collection. VCV Rack was originally only available as a standalone, no plugin. VCV has a huge library of premium, free, and open source modules. VCV just released VCV Rack 2.0, and I gave the new free standalone a spin. Still in RTFM territory for me, I'm afraid. But the new version has a Pro edition with a VST plugin version included for $50. VCV fans will probably be excited! But $20 for Voltage Ignite? No brainer! -
Well RX 8 and RX 9 Standard can do a nifty trick similar to this example from Spectral Layers Pro... separate a mixed audio track into stems for export and processing as independent audio files for vocals, bass, percussion, and other...

Why did you install an obsolete plugin on a new M1 Mac? That plug-in was discontinued a few years ago when Cakewalk went out of business, so there is no way it will ever be M1 compatible. I'm not a Mac user, but it sounds like you may need some Mac tech support to help you clean it up.

You can do a similar process using the "Music Rebalance" module in iZotope RX 8 Standard or Advanced. https://s3.amazonaws.com/izotopedownloads/docs/rx8/en/music-rebalance/index.html

This ^^^ The Arturia version is an improvement in this regard...
-
Well then, buckle your seatbelt, Mr Anderson!!!
-
I tried out the new Swatches, and agree on the Guiro!!! ?

The CZ1000 was my first synth, back in the mid-80's... ? I still have it. Cost me a paycheck, a bit over $500. I think this virtual version is a very good emulation! I also have the Arturia CZ V, which I think has a more user friendly interface. Better patch browser and live envelope curves. But for the price of the VirtualCZ, that's a better buy. Unless you already have the Arturia Collection, or plan to get it.

Something NEW Abbey Road arrives from Spitfire Today!
abacab replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
I guess my poor man's path to Abbey Road strings will have to be dropping my Waves Abbey Road signal chain onto a string ensemble that I already own. -
I just watched the Matrix trilogy for the 2nd time. Funny thing is that I barely remembered a few scenes and had forgotten most of the plot. Thanks to 2 decades gone by... ?
-
I like Humanized! Funny thing is that I thought it was new, so I listened to all the demos and said "gotta get that one". Then I discovered that I already had it, LOL!!! ?

I believe those products are all end of life since Cakewalk & Co fell, but BandLab still offers password reset and account support, etc.

I use VirtualBox (free) from Oracle as a VM hypervisor host to run Virtual Machine (VM) guests on my PC. It should work fine as long as your CPU has hardware virtualization capability, and that is enabled in your BIOS. A VM host such as VirtualBox running on Windows allows you to install another OS as a VM guest inside the VirtualBox environment. VirtualBox supports USB passthrough so that you can attach hardware via USB to your host PC that the VM can use. The virtualized hardware available to the guest OS is fairly generic and not high performance, but if your PC has plenty of RAM you should be fine. You will have to allocate a portion of your hard drive to install the VM hard drive file for the guest OS. For example, I did this for grins with an old version of Sonar (8.5) running on a WinXP VM. I was able to use my external USB MIDI controller with that instance of Sonar to play a virtual instrument. The latency was garbage, and nobody in their right mind should ever really attempt to actually use a DAW running in a VM. ? VirtualBox allows you to run the VM OS concurrently with your host Windows. You can go full screen with either using your monitor, keyboard, and mouse. And hot key back and forth full-screen, or run the VM in windowed mode on your Windows desktop. So switching back to the Win 10 side is as fast as clicking. Better than dual booting, IMO! Testing trial software in a VM is a safe way to not mess up your main OS. It should also be a good way to avoid malware getting into your main OS as well. Running another copy of activated Windows as a guest OS requires another Windows license. If you run Linux as the VM, that would be free.

But if you count the Groove3 pass, the iZotope upgrade is actually only $20. ?
-
So it looks like the $49 upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1 is a great way to get another year of Groove3 for half price.
-
Can anyone that has upgraded from 4.0 to 4.1 confirm that a new 1 yr activation code is received for Groove3?

Same here. Verified that my username in my BandLab profile is the same as my forum name here. Have never seen the name switcheroo happen to me, as BandLab does not have my real name yet.
