  1. I tried out the new Swatches, and agree on the Guiro!!! ?
  2. The CZ1000 was my first synth, back in the mid-80's... ? I still have it. Cost me a paycheck, a bit over $500. I think this virtual version is a very good emulation! I also have the Arturia CZ V, which I think has a more user friendly interface. Better patch browser and live envelope curves. But for the price of the VirtualCZ, that's a better buy. Unless you already have the Arturia Collection, or plan to get it.
  3. I guess my poor man's path to Abbey Road strings will have to be dropping my Waves Abbey Road signal chain onto a string ensemble that I already own.
  4. I just watched the Matrix trilogy for the 2nd time. Funny thing is that I barely remembered a few scenes and had forgotten most of the plot. Thanks to 2 decades gone by... ?
  5. I like Humanized! Funny thing is that I thought it was new, so I listened to all the demos and said "gotta get that one". Then I discovered that I already had it, LOL!!! ?
  6. I believe those products are all end of life since Cakewalk & Co fell, but BandLab still offers password reset and account support, etc.
  7. I use VirtualBox (free) from Oracle as a VM hypervisor host to run Virtual Machine (VM) guests on my PC. It should work fine as long as your CPU has hardware virtualization capability, and that is enabled in your BIOS. A VM host such as VirtualBox running on Windows allows you to install another OS as a VM guest inside the VirtualBox environment. VirtualBox supports USB passthrough so that you can attach hardware via USB to your host PC that the VM can use. The virtualized hardware available to the guest OS is fairly generic and not high performance, but if your PC has plenty of RAM you should be fine. You will have to allocate a portion of your hard drive to install the VM hard drive file for the guest OS. For example, I did this for grins with an old version of Sonar (8.5) running on a WinXP VM. I was able to use my external USB MIDI controller with that instance of Sonar to play a virtual instrument. The latency was garbage, and nobody in their right mind should ever really attempt to actually use a DAW running in a VM. ? VirtualBox allows you to run the VM OS concurrently with your host Windows. You can go full screen with either using your monitor, keyboard, and mouse. And hot key back and forth full-screen, or run the VM in windowed mode on your Windows desktop. So switching back to the Win 10 side is as fast as clicking. Better than dual booting, IMO! Testing trial software in a VM is a safe way to not mess up your main OS. It should also be a good way to avoid malware getting into your main OS as well. Running another copy of activated Windows as a guest OS requires another Windows license. If you run Linux as the VM, that would be free.
  8. But if you count the Groove3 pass, the iZotope upgrade is actually only $20. ?
  9. So it looks like the $49 upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1 is a great way to get another year of Groove3 for half price.
  10. Can anyone that has upgraded from 4.0 to 4.1 confirm that a new 1 yr activation code is received for Groove3?
  11. Same here. Verified that my username in my BandLab profile is the same as my forum name here. Have never seen the name switcheroo happen to me, as BandLab does not have my real name yet.
  12. I listened to the demos of AAS Analog Orchestra, and I'm not sold yet. Some organic instruments sound good when emulated on an analog synth, such as the synth flute, and maybe some synth strings. But others don't sound all that musical to me. Kind of a throwback to the early synth days, pre-sampler. Thank goodness for the high quality sample libraries of organic instruments available to us today! I think this is where advanced physical modeling of organic instruments has a better chance for making a musical sound. It would have been interesting to see how this would turn out if the sounds were designed in Chromaphone. IMO Ultra Analog VA-3 was developed to physically model an analog synth, not organic instruments. YMMV.
  13. 1.5 showed up here today. Still going to wait to update.
  14. That's actually where I got on deal on Chromaphone 2 a while back!
  15. It's all fun and games until someone seriously breaks the rules. Then threads mysteriously get locked by those invisible mods.
  16. Good luck! For some examples of what others have tried, you might try searching the forum for other discussions of 'DPC latency' and/or 'LatencyMon. You are not the first to run into this issue. It my not be Windows 11 related. Since you do not have a LatencyMon report from your PC running on Windows 10 it's hard to say.
  17. I may have to check after the holidays to see if I still have $49 to spend. Never mind. My loyalty offer expires on Dec 14th...
  18. Humanized is listed for C3. but is player compatible. Edit: I just checked my Chromaphone 2 install. It seems that 2 Chromaphone packs are missing (unavailable) from my C2 install. They are Humanized and Transmution. All the other packs are present in C2. All the packs say they are for Chromaphone 3, so it's hard to tell just by going with what the website says. I have both C2 and C3.
  19. Yep, dat's a good wun! I already Humanized somehow. It's still marked as new on the website, but I bought the "complete your collection" of Chromaphone packs a while back. So now I have all of them! ?
  20. So please let us know if it's any good! ?
  21. Workflow for sketching in a chord progression using a chord track.
  22. That's why most hit recordings are made with Pro Tools! ?
  23. I may need to the same thing this upcoming year to avoid further temptation, as I took advantage of too many sales and group buys all year long. It may take me a year to digest my 2021 acquisitions, LOL!!! Thanks Larry and Family!!! ?
