flows along very well....clean production and mix ????

Thanks Nigel. I've never spent as much time mixing any other song. ????
-
Thanks. Took over a month to write, arrange, record and mix. The mixing took the longest. The Drums are CbB SI Drums which I modified. ????

great song and performances with a Jobim feel....agree with the mixing suggestions above about adjustments to the lows ????
-
real good overall job....mix is good to my ears except for the percussion which i personally found annoying....i like the percussion playing but the not the tone of it, i'd bass it up a little and you know, mess around with it to see what can be and can't be done with it....just my two cents everything else sounds ready to go ????
-
Thanks Tom....i have an albums worth of ambient pop music so now i plan to do some country rock stuff....cheers!!!! ????
-
Thanks for the kind words Bjorn....yes, the change, the song seemed too short so i tried to write a coda to it.... the song's about a crooked gambling game so after listenening to the first part part which is mysterious with a sense that something isn't quite right, i tried to write some music that happens as the game progresses and the victim realizes he's being taken and i'll just leave it at that lol!!!! Thanks again ????

music: great tones, production, mix....the piece is expansive and varied.... the writing diverse, confident and nice to listen to....Lisa did a great job on the vocals....great work there!!!! ???? video: compliments the song perfectly, nice to see something with old fashioned heart and soul

good work there Andy....enjoy listening to your version....always liked this song from the first time i heard it ????
-
Thanks Jesse....yes, i played bass and all other instruments as i always do, even managed to get a good sound from the SI-Drums VST by creating aux channels and working on beefing up the tones on the snare and bass drums....i used about 30 tracks including aux outputs and spent a lot of time listening to each section and trying to determine what each musician/ instrument could play in any given section....its a lot of concentration and really mentally draining but if there's no effort there's no results....cheers!! ????
-
hi Andy....Thank You....the lead guitar is pretty smooth as it just felt like the right sound to me....cheers!! ????
-
well constructed piece from beginning to end ????
-
Thank You Michael....the bass is a mix of direct injected and one of the Arturia Analog Lab V Light bass creations, can't remember which one.... Thanks again ?? ? ? edit: i checked and the bass is actually a mix of DI and the CbB SI-Bass VST ????

great vocal on a great song....your voice, to my ears, is totally radio friendly....in fact, i'd go so far as to say your vocal is primarily what makes that song so good....good luck with it ????
