  1. I wish I'd learned this stuff back when I was just 1F... ?
  2. I think a "What's your favorite reference album/songs?" thread might be useful! I like Steely Dan's Aja (usually for live setup) and No Doubt's Return of Saturn (for loud, but well separated stuff). Others come and go.
  3. I think the Parr song is closer than the Communards (or anything by Bronski Beat), but it's still not what I'm trying to find... If I can ever figure it out, it will be shocking how much it sounds like the OP's song! I'm sure I have the song, but just trying to wade through the 5,500+ artists I have (3,300+ in my media player, with about 2,200 still to be imported - over 350,000 tracks in total) takes a lot of time!
  4. Just looking for a little clarification, the headphone amps being discussed are mainly to help you mix wearing headphones, right? I used to have Behringer's headphone amp (see below), but that was used so that each of my friends that came over at lunch-time could have a "personal" mix with more of them in it if they so wished. Worked great except for all the cords (this was before decent cordless headphones - I bet those might work great now for the purpose I was using them for)!
  5. {Notes for Notes: AC/DC -> Electricity! ?]
  6. Never heard of them, but those plug-ins look right up my alley!
  7. *ZZZZZZzzzzz....* *Must remember to tell Paulo that JonBouy has all my money already...* *Ooo, ooo, eee, eee, aaa, aaa!* *Flaps arms and then drags knuckles on floor before looking for a banana...* *Finds out that I already have Audacity on my computer and had completely forgotten about it - probably needs a serious update...* *Must remember to thank Paulo; maybe he'll want a banana too?" ??
  8. There even used to be a preset on my Korg N5 called "Film Drama" - sounded exactly like it!
  9. These threads make me miss Jan (Old55). He was so good at this type of stuff! I'll eventually find the song I've been looking for and will then have to try and find this thread so my reply makes sense! LOL.
  10. This may not help much, but I literally call that "Film" music! (Really!)
  11. Hey! That looks just like... Er, nevermind! ?
  12. Dirty water to dirty laundry (with Sweet thrown in for good measure!). Love her voice. ?
  13. True, but it's not on my home or work computers... It's still stuck on a server I have buried in storage.
  14. My quick counter to Joad's selection!
  15. Or not! Hehe... Joad snuck one in while I was making my post! LOL.
  16. Ah, a perfect time to include the first video on MTV!
  17. Ok, I've got some audio that I'd like to cut up and append parts together. We're talking very crude stuff here (no, not "that" kind of crude S.L.I.P.!?). These are mostly spoken hypnosis scripts, so precise wave matching is not necessary. It's been so long since I've done this type of quick work, that the tools I used back then are very old. I figured I'd see what some of you have found that works well and is more recent. If nobody has a recommendation, then I'll go my normal route of researching the so-called "best" tools using Google searches, but I'm guessing that SOMEONE here has needed this ability without having to resort to using Bandlab which would be complete overkill. TIA! ??
  18. By my count, Fame owes Kenny another 14 minutes and 56 seconds! ?
  19. I don't need his "talent," but I would LOVE to have the amount of free time he obviously has! ?
  20. [Song Association For Notes?] - The singer is driving a truck similar to the ones pictured in the last two offerings, for hours on end. If that doesn't work, then try this one: ?
  21. How about the Greys and Magenta (one of three different ones that I can think of!)?
  22. What's really funny, is the guy with the tambourine thinks he's a kick-butt|musician! ?
  23. My buddy Walter covering Jimi! (All we need now is Pink Floyd, Deep Purple and Agent Orange, ya?)
