  1. Ah, ok! I'll go back and edit my OP!
  2. Well, I've heard of C bass. I wonder if there's such a thing as Am bass? ?
  3. Strings??! I thought they just had scales! ?
  4. (*Psst!* Hey Bill! Becan could be passed under a door too! Too bad it would probably get eaten long before you saw it though... ? ) Good to see you're keeping your spirits up though! ?
  5. You should consider playing bass then Ed! ?
  6. Heh, pretty much the same (both sentences!). I also wanted to add that, after listening all the way up, when I went back to lower frequencies to retest areas, I would still hear a tone even with the video paused as if the ramp up was causing a bit of tinnitus. I thought that was interesting!
  7. I have a friend that gets so high I doubt he's hearing anything... ? But, seriously, I appeared to top out at exactly the same spot that you did and that just seems a bit too coincidental to me. Oh well...
  8. Not sure if that's the Universal Dream, but nice none-the-less! ?
  9. What? No PL1 Ed? ? Actually, that was only on IBM machines (we had an IBM mini-mainframe in college named Kermit). PL1 was really just a combination Fortran and COBOL. In addition to the ones you listed, we had to learn Assembler, C and RPG3 too! More languages came along once I was working at a defense contractor (CSC) back in 1984 (ADA, Lisp, DCL, etc.)... The guidance system for the Tomahawk cruise missiles was written in... *Oops!* I'm still not allowed to tell, sorry! ?
  10. I still remember how both the Timex Sinclair and the PET were introduced with all of 1K of RAM! When the Radio Shaft Trash-80's came out with 16K we thought we were swimming in memory! (Note that it's 1K and 16K, not 1KB and 16KB!) I still was able to code a nice Worm War and a mean Space Invaders on the Trash-80... ?
  11. This is close to what I started on in 1970 (a teletype machine with an acoustic coupler to a HP-2000 timeshare). Except the ones I had access to (through my school district) were wider and used the normal green-bar paper. It would default to 110 BAUD (the communication speed) but, if you whistled at just the right pitch, you could get it to connect at 300 BAUD! *Woot!* Note that a BAUD is one bit per second and my current download rate as I type this is over a million times faster (312+ Mbps)! For comparison, at 300 BAUD, it would take over 219 years to download the current 4 GB Windows 10 install .iso file! (Which would then require an additional 2,000 years of updates... ? )
  12. A most enlightening post Kenny! Definitely worthy of reflection. ??
  13. I still believe Slartabarfast is a lawyer or was one in a prior life! ?
  14. Ya, sure Bill. We know that's really a private fetish of yours, but it's ok. Your secret's safe with us. ?
  15. So, staring at that is what happened to his eye? ? ?
  16. The lockdown is obviously harder on cartoonists, ya? ?
