  1. Now you got me thinking and actually a bit concerned about this. I’ve been converting all my old projects over from 44.1 to 48. I wasn’t at all concerned about the midi tracks and instruments. But one thing I’m hearing is Ample P bass lite is all of a sudden sounding grainy if you solo it. I’m going to try a listen to it at 44.1 again!
  2. I feature the LoudMax in a few of my videos. I even use it in my video editing software so my You Tubes are under control. Did you watch #101? https://youtu.be/w24ZQIkY4fw It a very simple overview of using it. If it makes your mix sound bad then you are over compressed and might need to lower your overall output using the master bus gain control or lower all your sub buses. I have a few other videos that explain basic mastering. #15, 22&24 as examples https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/topic/36057-cakewalk-2022-owners-manual-tutorials/ If you have any questions please ask glad to help
  3. This one is about Importing a midi file into Cakewalk but it's title should be " How to OPEN a Midi file" How to Import a Midi file into Cakewalk and play it with TTS-1 - https://youtu.be/lKDfq-hTb7U You can then simply change the midi tracks to Instrument tracks of your choice. Here is the rest of my tutorials and Tutorials # 12, 13 & 14 also go into details of managing Midi tracks.
  4. FYI my videos are short and to the point. I don’t even have intros and I don’t beg for subscriptions. That would waist time. People just need the facts. I made them per topic. If you do watch the ones I listed you will be miles ahead in understanding how to produce a top quality master. There’s much more to understand about Mastering than what I cover, but for most new comers this is a great starting point. I can totally understand not wanting to waist time on yet more videos but mine are different. I only made them because I got tired of typing the same answers over and over in this forum So the sort answer is it seems you have not set your Master bus section up properly. Only the Master needs to be at Unity. It's all about understanding Cakewalks signal flow. All this is covered in detail in the ones you didn't watch. The Video's about Exporting is NOT about mastering. It assumes you've got that under control. You shouldn't be messing with Windows volume setting either, unless you don't have an audio interface. We normally adjust monitoring levels with Hardware. You also might benefit from Tutorial # 1 about setting up your audio system correctly.
  5. In the steps in my video-- once you have deleted all the audio at the old sample rate you have to use SAVE AS and to a new location. You still check copy all audio with project even though there is none so Cakewalk will create a new per project folder with a empty audio folder in it. THEN you drag and drop the exported audio track back to the clean project. Otherwise the old sample rate audio will be all mixed in with the new sample rate audio. Please watch the video again and carefully follow the steps.
  6. I always pay attention to the file size of the sample if available. Like in Dim Pro. I assume that the larger files might be better quality but then ?
  7. The Juno with that midi adapter box was the very first synth I used. It belonged to the music program teacher. He later bought the one with midi built in. I got him set up with an Atari ST and the kids learned a bit about midi , synths and sequencers. I still have some recordings we made with the kids ( now in their 40,s) and that Juno is a big part of the sound.
  8. All volume settings need to be at unity if that is the source for your export. I have tutorials on exporting and mastering projects that will clarify what you are trying to do. #15, 22, 24 and 28,29.
  9. It wasn't a big stretch for me to sort it out when first introduced years ago. I had been recalling Mixes on my Yamaha 01V since 1996. I most certainly wouldn't have expected it to know if I had unplugged or added a new input. I used to store Masking tape Channel naming strips of bands and 8 track recording projects stuck to the bottom and sides. Just recall the mix and stick the matching tape strip on the front. Most mixers now have a little name window per channel. So saving a snapshot of a mix has been around along time. Digital mixing desks all do this. That's why the big shows can travel the world and ask for a certain FOH and monitor desk and just show up, load their show from a USB stick and go. I think it's great Cakewalk adapted this same workflow. I'm not sure how other many DAW's do? One of the most brilliant uses of mix recall is for live multitrack recordings. Say you have recorded a whole night and have 30 CWP project files of audio tracks. They will all probably be mixed about the same. Get song #1 dialed in and save the mix recall. Now from the browser, drag that mix recall from song #1's mix recall folder and drop it on the other projects. Bingo and Cool.
  10. Yes mix recall has its place for trying out different options for mixing a final version of a finished project but it needs the tracks to keep same numbers etc. You can swap out effects and VST instruments but it will freak out if you delete a track. There are many options for saving alternative versions of projects. “Save as “with a change to the name is easiest and will share the audio folder if you “save as “in to the same project folder.
  11. You should either read the documentation articles about PVR or watch the many tutorial videos on the topic. That’s how we all learned how to use advanced features of Cakewalk. The hard way is to blindly poke at buttons. Go to the tutorials here https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/forum/35-tutorials/ I have my ow series as well https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/topic/36057-cakewalk-2022-owners-manual-tutorials/
  12. No Rx is not a regional effect so is not on the list. Not sure what is involved but it is something to do with the ARA integration that Melodyne uses that allows it to work in any DAW that supports ARA. An option is to open the wave file directly in RX and save it when done. The project would need to be closed. And then another idea would depend on if RX is considered a wave editor, if it is then one could add it to the Tools menu. @scook wrote some software for making this easier. Example I added Wave lab to my tools menu so I can highlight any audio clip and open it, edit and save the changes. I close the file in Wave lab and return focus to Cakewalk which asks me if I want to save the change made to the clip. So it’s different than an regional effect but the process is the same as you should render Melodyne too which is the same as saving.

    I need ASIO4ALL

Please start a new thread with new questions this is 4 pages long nobody will make it to the end.
  14. Same for me, Tascam , Focusrite and Motu all seem to share as long as the sample rate matches. That’s why I now use 48 because most Videos are 48. I will often open Cakewalk to grab screen shots while using both Chrome and Movie Studio ( Vegas) without issues. I also might have Paint open. Lots going on never a problem. It’s most always been like that for me. I’ve never had to use my on board audio like some people report is their solution to the sharing issue. So possibly that is an alternative for the OP. Use on board for Windows stuff.
  15. I do believe only the budget Behringer interfaces use asio4all. The rest have proper ASIO drivers like all interfaces. I just looked and there’s a driver download https://www.behringer.com/product.html?modelCode=P0B2J

    I need ASIO4ALL

Thanks for the reminder not sure why that was changed as I usually set it on the date. No matter I have nothing to add. Some people get it some people don’t. That’s what makes this world so interesting.
  17. Tutorial # 4 explains how to back up your projects tutorials # 28, 29& 30 are also relevant to this topic

    I need ASIO4ALL

Ok ✅ this is a Zombie thread from 2021 ? and on my phone I see the last post is from 2021 by @usalabs I’ve never seen a weirder posting than this? Is Q&A scrambling posts??
  19. So what exactly are you using for audio equipment, that might narrow it down. Are you using an audio interface or a USB mike etc?? It almost sounded like an ambient recording of traffic in a city? Is there a start and end of a clip at that point?
  20. I have a tutorial that shows you what to do to change the sample rate of a project if you want to revert back to 48. # 104 https://youtu.be/ZVBNf-jyuzI There's very little if none at all benefit to using super high sample rates in a home studio. I'm a big fan of 48hz these days so if I open an older 44.1 project I convert it right away. But that said, if you created the project at 96 all the audio files should be stored with that as their sample rate. It's not possible to have 2 sample rates in any project. When you open a new project it will be set to the rate you chose in Preferences for new projects. Your audio interface will be set to match too. Any audio recorded will be at that rate. If audio is imported into a project will be automatically converted to that rate. If there are any audio files that are not at that sample rate that's an unusual situation that I'm not quite sure how it could happen. I found when researching how to change sample rates that it it is not possible if there are any active audio tracks in a project. All audio tracks have to be removed before you can change sample rates. So in theory it is not possible to have any audio tracks showing in a project that are wrong. Midi tracks and instruments don't care. You can change sample rate of a huge project if it is just Midi. As long as none of the instruments have been frozen. Those are now considered audio tracks so the same rules apply and the project cannot be converted.
  21. Did you check your Master bus? Edit- Just looked a little closer at the screen shot I see the Audio engine is off. Are you using an interface or just the computer sound card?
  22. My old Roland GR50 guitar synth has patches in it that are very convincing lead guitar sounds. I could record them as midi and play them back into the Module and it sounded more or less exactly the same. I think one was called Metalizer
  23. Totally agree If you suck at guitar either compose music that doesn’t use it or by a cheep guitar and make some noise with it and fix it with Melodyne ?
