Lucky you. You don't need to use a 3rd party driver written for Windows XP anymore. See tutorial #1 for Audio set up in Cakewalk.

Scrolling the Track View with Arrow Keys
John Vere replied to jimlynch22's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
What I’ve found myself using to navigate the track view is the ALT mouse scroll wheel. I zoom out to see whole project place now time on the place I was looking for and zoom back in. But then I seem to always use a mouse for as much as possible and not keyboard shortcuts. -
The levels are always set at the audio interface before heading off through the USB connection. The DAW has no control over this level but one can most certainly check it by arming the tracks and observing the DAW’s track meters. Some interfaces do have a software mixer in line which you also need to check. The good news is because it’s digital it should not matter and all you need to do is apply gain or normalization to the tracks. I’ve had plenty of low level tracks from live quick mixes and what was easiest was highlight the whole project and apply Normalization at -8.0db.

@User 905133 Good to know, My Tascam 1641 was made in 2008 , last driver was issued in 2016 and says W10. Tascam make good Windows drivers. I'd say that my 1641 driver outperforms my brand new Motu M4 driver in some ways. My reason for mentioning the Tascam was when I saw it didn't support W10 I was wondering if the OP was still on W7 ?. I tried Googling " Does Windows 7 support VST3" and came up with no answers.
-
Thinking about other info that might be related to issues. Here's some more things to chew on. In the OP signature they list their Audio interface. A quick trip to the Tascam support page finds we are dealing with a very obsolete device. We actually don't know if the OP is running W10. Do VST3's run on W7? I google the question and there was no immediate answers.
-
Yes lots of unanswered question from the OP. That ALL VST3's are crashing has never been actually verified even though it was a question asked by scook early on. Looking at the list it would seem Sample Tank, Syntronik and Iris2 would also be crashing? I also noticed the duplication of all VST3 and VST 2 instruments. The OP might want to check the boxes in Preferences to prevent this.

When I read this the first thing came to mind is the fact that even my $40 version of Vegas supports multi track audio. My thinking is if faced with this problem I’d somehow be using those audio tracks to export samples of different audio synced to the video. I drag and drop audio clips into Vegas all the time seems pretty easy to me.

Actually looks like he joined in 2019. Just glad I didn’t say anything dumb like is my habit sometimes. Specially when someone repost what you had said and now it’s in fixable

I tried a bunch of different widening tools and the most transparent was Izotope Imager which just happens to be free. https://www.izotope.com/en/products/ozone-imager.html

@Billy86 Thanks for the kind words about the tutorials. If you use 44.1 then you would use 44.1/32. I use 32 because Cakewalk is working internally at 32 floating point. Then no dithering is required. The benefit might be very small but hard drive space is no longer an issue for me so might as well use it.
-
Like I said in your other post, your issue is not Cakewalk, your issue is with the vendor of the plug in. Your obsessing over the plug in icons?? that is just plain weird. We have all told you that is what they look like, that is nothing to do with a plug in not working. E mail support for the plug ins that are not working it takes a lot less time than you are spending posting here. I am honestly sorry we really can't help. All those VST 3 plug ins work just fine for the rest of us. I use as many VST 3 plug ins as available from vendors. They are all working great.
-
Different types of plug ins are different colours. Not at my DAW, but VST 2 and VST 3 and DX are each different colours and then I think 32 bit are Green So what I see is you have the VST 3 and VST 2 versions available

Cakewalk doesn't record the auido from the plugin correctly
John Vere replied to Despaircito's topic in Instruments & Effects
Seems this is a issue you need to talk to Ample about. -
I've said it before and I'll say it again. The forum should lock all threads after around 1 month of inactivity. It would most certainly make it much harder for trolls to find food. I someone wants to reference a locked thread it's easy to just post the link to it in your new thread. This is about the 3rd Zombie thread un earthed by a troll in the last few days. Edit: I see the moderators removed the troll/ I guess that's the best thing to do, don't respond, just report them.

newbie Loops audible, but recorded audio (suddenly) inaudible?
John Vere replied to T2M's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Everything is correct, the Focusrite ASIO input 1 is just how a 2 channel device will show up. but possibly you are not choosing the correct input in the track header. In your screen shot looks like you using Stereo instead of choosing the correct mono input. It's a bit confusing at first because of the way they are labeled. Input L is 1 and Input R is 2. -

RESYNC AUDIO IN PROJECT / TAKE POSITION LISTING IN TIME
John Vere replied to Milton Sica's question in Q&A
Because bouncing creates a new track. I want to bring them back and place them in the tracks they came from so there’s no change to the signal path effects and all that stuff. As always there’s more than one way to do the same things in Cakewalk The OP still didn’t answer my questions. -
RESYNC AUDIO IN PROJECT / TAKE POSITION LISTING IN TIME
John Vere replied to Milton Sica's question in Q&A
The above statement doesn't really explain what you are facing . It could imply a few different scenarios. I realize there is possibly a small language barrier here so I have a few questions I need answered clearly so I actually know what has happened. I asked you this question earlier. You answered but you might not have understood the question. I think what you meant was the audio is still in the folder which we understand as you have stated this. But if you read my question you'll see I wanted to actually know what you where seeing when you open the project. Therefore- are you saying that when you opened a project the project opened and all the audio tracks and the audio clips were missing, Or all the tracks were there but just the audio was missing? ( see track #4 below) Or you tried to open a project and a received a warning that there were missing audio files and the project opened but the audio tracks are all blank? By Audio tracks I am asking are there tracks like in the screen shot 1,2 & 3 have audio data, #4 does not have data. FYI saving versions of a project does not make back ups of the audio. It is just a new CWP data container with different information as explained nicely by @David Baay Proper back ups require using "Save As" with the "copy all Audio with projects" checked and then save to a different location. A good way to loose audio from a project would be to use "Save as" and NOT check that box. It will make a new copy of the project but the audio I do believe stays in the original folder. Move something later on and the project looses the audio. -
And as @David Baay said it depends on zoom level. Normal view Zoom out Zoom way out to see whole song and more

import fx from one project to another?
John Vere replied to charles kasler's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Most all Plug ins have a "save as preset" built in. I generally name mine after a song I used it in, that way I will know it's suitable for similar projects. I do a lot of re mixing old projects and my workflow has changed a lot over time. It doesn't take that long to bring old projects up to speed. But I defiantly use different effects and instruments now, and using those pre sets I custom made is certainly a big time saver. -
RESYNC AUDIO IN PROJECT / TAKE POSITION LISTING IN TIME
John Vere replied to Milton Sica's question in Q&A
Question? are the original audio tracks all there? As in there are tracks for the missing audio but they contain no data. Or are the complete tracks totally missing? If the tracks are still there but empty of data my approach would be to open the audio folder in the browser and using the audio file track names drag them into a lane for that track. Use as many lanes as needed. I would guess that using the numbers assigned and the time stamp as shown in my screen shot would tell me what order they were originally in. Then soloing each lane along with the rest of the music to slowly figure out were they belong in time. -
RESYNC AUDIO IN PROJECT / TAKE POSITION LISTING IN TIME
John Vere replied to Milton Sica's question in Q&A
Well Cakewalk would naturally know all that information otherwise the audio would not play in sync. But that information will be imbedded in the CWP files data code as zero's and ones. One would have to somehow read the data inside the CWP files. The scary mess found in an audio folder is one reason I have taken to exporting all my broken up audio tracks as stems and then bring them back in as one whole track that always starts at zero. At first I did this to convert projects from 44.1 to 48hz but then I also found that this was the best way to have audio for doing other things like slowing down or speeding up a song. I use save as to have a fresh copy and when done you look in my audio folder and there is only 1 file per track now. -
RESYNC AUDIO IN PROJECT / TAKE POSITION LISTING IN TIME
John Vere replied to Milton Sica's question in Q&A
Not that I'm aware of. Cakewalk seems to use incremental numbering but it's never been very logical. One thing that might help is to open the audio folder and using windows column list choose the dates created or modified column and see if that helps. I will assume you don't have a back up copy of the project?
