  1. Watch tutorial #1. And # 20 It will get you fixed up. You might want to watch a few more if you’re new to Cakewalk it’s a complete series that will take the guesswork out of working with Cakewalk
  2. John Vere

    Too Much

Possibly Joe Walsh vibe to the vocal? Great track.
  3. No but the Cakewalk team does appreciate it if you submit a crash dump report so they can fix it.
  4. This- I really don’t think you can synchronize a bunch of GIFs. But I will vote for a “ Rude”. Ripple edit button. Wasn’t that Mackie that used that term for the Solo light on their mixers?
  5. I’ve created a series of tutorials and many of them cover using midi tracks as well as export, copy freeze bounce etc.
  6. The other solution which is what I do is turn the track gain down by 3db. I do this with creating stems but I would think it would also work for clips too.
  7. You need a audio interface with a Loopback feature. This is the best solution. You need an audio interface anyway if you plan on using Cakewalk to its full potential Some sound cards support using “What you hear” It would be in the Windows sound settings. I think Audacity can select desktop audio as a input source. OBS does for sure would be easier just to record using any thing but Cakewalk and import the audio. But just this one situation is why having a loop back built in to your interface is cool. That way you’re working with ASIO drivers
  8. And I did note you had 64 bit engine engaged in preferences so turn that off. The consensus around here has been if you don’t understand what it’s for don’t use it as it is not necessary.
  9. Are you meaning midi CC 12? Or midi channel 12? I’ll assume you have the pedal connected to a midi keyboard controller. And you don’t mention what the situation is. Is this a fresh project or an old project? Is this a template? A download midi file? Have you made changes to the midi or instruments input filters in the advanced midi settings?
  10. I hate posting before I finish my first coffee thanks
  11. Are you rendering your Melodyne clips before you export? You should always render after editing with Melodyne. Watch video 27 and you might also benefit from watching # 28, 29 and 24 which explains setting up a proper export
  12. If you click in the track header you can choose “ Replace Synth “.
  13. I got a free copy of Home Studio back then. I posted in the old forum to tell everyone about the deal. A while ago I found that thread and you could still click on the links and it would take you all the way to the old Cakewalk site where of course the download link no longer works. But the Magazine link was still available which just shows you how many abandoned web sites get left active out there.
  14. Sorry I missed your reply. I could send it no problem but I made a few major changes including I deleted the original mix recall that caused the crash. So I don't think it would help much. I also overwrote my working back up copy. I have an older backup but it didn't have any Mix recalls saved. So hopefully the crash dump is of some use to you.
  15. Anybody remember the Dr Synth and The Dr Rhythm? They might have been sold under Rolands Boss lable. I used both of those for my Midi Backing tracks for a short while. I didn't like the Dr Rhythm much as it was sort of wierd to program and didn't have a footswitch, The first signs of Roland no longer making stuff for live performers. The Dr Synth had great sounds but a Keyboard player friend of mine talked me into selling it to him. He still uses it. I keep telling him I'll buy it back but he claims it's still the best thing going for Organ and pop synth sounds used in top 40's gigs.
  16. The whole Roland Cloud thing is a big disapointment for me, a long time Roland fan. There's really nothing there that you can't find for free somewhere. And I still have my GR 50 which has some classic Roland sounds. Oh, and my trusty 505 drum machine.
  17. That sound real good but it is so far removed from sounding like a real Martin it's not funny! It makes you realize what the OP is up against. They sort of sound tinny and way to bright. I have Ample and Strum Session and as I say, they have a good "sound" but it's not a really an acoustic guitar sound as we know it from recording the real deal. There's always sort of a Harpsicord attack like the strings were hit with somthing and not picked.
  18. Definatly the mainstay of traditional Bluegrass was the Martin D 28 so you'd be looking at anyone who has sampled that guitar. Sorry I havn't yet dabbled in using guitars as a VST but the day will come as my arthritis gets worse. I sometimes cheat a little and slow the song down to record fast parts and then speed it back up. It would be interesting to do this and use Melodyne to create midi from it.
  19. First, seems there's no such animal as a xv8080 but Roland makes a xv 5080 which a quick trip to their web site tells me it is a 1 Part synth.
  20. Upgrade your laptops hard drive Purchase a new SSD drive 250 is minimum size. Also purchase a USB to SATA adapter cable that will be used to transfer your old files from the original drive later. Go to Microsoft website and follow instructions to create a Windows 10 or 11 media DVD or USB stick. unplug and remove battery for laptop Flip over swap out drive Replace battery and power cord Turn on and follow prompts Always run Windows updates a few time it takes a few reboot etc until it will be done Now you can re install your software and connect the old drive to transfer you files. Don’t leave that drive connected when you boot up .
  21. It wasn’t confusing you did a good job of labeling the pictures it’s just the way people tend to see things differently. As I said you issue is probably deep with in the BIOS of that machine. I sort of doubt little tweaks will change that much. If I was in your situation I would try putting a fresh SDD drive in and re install Windows. The drives are under $100 and even if your not a tech savvy person the process is pretty simple these days.
  22. It's seems to be just one project that crashes. I did exact same moves in 2 different projects and I can recall the original mix. Interesting fact is that the Synth I swapped out stays in the project but the effects I had swapped out revert back to originals. I submitted a crash report The crash goes as follows. Make change to the synth and a few settings and save as Mix 2 Save project Click on Mix 1 and it trys to load but after about 5 seconds screen flashes and Cakewalk disapears without any toast messages.
