  1. You might want to check, I did the same ?
  2. Those thankyou vouchers have been fantastic so far.. I snatched the Pultec just in case they get sick of us only paying $14 and change how the minimum is applied! Native is so much better. I just ignored them before that, but at $14 a pop I don't mind giving them a run ? The $14 spent dropped $48 from the Diamond bundle too, so not a bad way to reduce that either. I've seen you rate that one highly before. I haven't even given that a demo! It might need to be $14 to pique my interest now but I am curious about how good it sounds ?
  3. Grabbed it for $14 from UAD direct.. it was a little hard to refuse ?
  4. It was a site issue, nothing to do specifically with targeting any of the browsers from what I gather.
  5. So happy to see some VST3 versions being released. That's been the only thing stopping me using his plugins. Some of them are very good. This is great news ?
  6. Some stuff they seem to miss the mark pretty widely on where they're not unique, or better performing enough over the competition to warrant such inflated prices. They make a heap of great products, but so do a lot of other developers so I just pick and choose from Softube.
  7. I wasn't aware they had a NAM loader. That's pretty different.. I probably wasn't going to bother even looking, but I will definitely have to have a look at it now even just out of curiosity!
  8. I tried their FET Compressor in their InfiniStripWIND and loved it. So much so, that when they're next doing their deep discounts again, so maybe Black Friday, I'll likely pick it up just for the convenience of having it in a separate plugin.
  9. I was pleasantly surprised by their last freebie, so it was good seeing it pop up again. I have heaps of reverbs, but otherwise I reckon I'd probably look at their full version... and still might anyway ?
  10. Great price and a lot of bang for buck. I don't use it heaps, but whenever I do it's normally pretty easy to get the job done with it.
  11. As much as I'm not a Waves advocate, they extended on the original design/hardware quite well with this plugin in that regard. It just gives people choice.. keep it simple like the original, or use the extra stuff it it helps and works with the particular track. Nice example with PA too. They do that well on their plugins. I love Overloud and how the add more controls to their originals also. Arturia is handy for some of their addional controls as well.
  12. Thanks! I'll have to listen to these when I have something other than my phone. The one thing I would say is you definitely can't match them based on the settings, they just don't align. I got them to similar levels of compression and gain matched and I was surprised how different the settings needed to be. Even how they responded to input levels was different. I did read somewhere that the attack and release times of the 160 changes based on the level going into it too which might play a part too.
  13. It gets like that sometimes ? It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the comparison between this one and the NI/Softube one too.
  14. Price is tempting.. I've just been A->B testing between the Waves version, NI/Softube's VC-160 and this. Waves wins on features, but loses points for WUP and being Waves! Sounds different to the other two. Not in a bad way or anything. Sometimes I preferred it. The NI / Softube and UAD sound very close to my ears. So much so that I'm wondering whether Softube coded the algorithms for UAD given the similarities and their relationship with UAD. I'm not certain it really adds much to the NI one included in Komplete apart from UA having a scalable UI. Edit: Also testing the Hornet MultiComp MK2 which you can select VCA-160 as a model inside it. Analog Obsession does the free dBComp, but I don't think I've got that installed any more.
  15. Oh wow.. sorry to hear that Lars... not fun at all.... Like others have said, it all happens for a reason though ? Glad to hear that it's all covered by insurance!
  16. Yeah I think that was very shady on their part. I bought it ages ago, so apart from paying a higher price, I've had a reasonable amount of use out of it at least, so it's not as bad. I will likely favour the UAD and Overloud ones in projects for now, as well as the PSP one. Can't see myself paying for Softube's MKII personally, but I guess I may demo it at one stage and like it. I have 0% interest in it currently though.
  17. I believe it will get support for a few more years from memory, but they've announced its being sunset, so it's definitely on the way out.
  18. Glad you like it! Hornet doesn't have really fancy UIs and aren't expensive, so lots of people overlook them. But he has some hidden gems and they're normally really light on CPU. The other one that surprised me recently was Multicomp Plus MK2. It has a number of compressor styles and emulations and some sounded great. It has (VCA, FET, OPTO, Console4K, VCA160) and one expander. Their Tape is light on resources and not bad either, Analog Stake is great. SW34EQ looks somewhat like a toy, but it's actually quite a nice sounding EQ. I even like TotalEQ too. Prices are great and no stupid copy protections. That's why I always try and support him :)
  19. I have it and I actually like it. Easily worth the asking price and a slightly different vibe to some of the others I have and have tried.
  20. There's one thing to know about Hornet's secret sales... spoiler alert... they're not secret and pretty regular! Many of us are subscribers to his newsletter and a lot of the deals posted here for all companies in this forum are for newsletter subscribers and people posting them here saves them being missed in everyone's inboxes. So the extra sales that Sav would get from sales of people that miss their newsletter in their sea of emails and those that aren't even subscribers but only buy because they see it here does the opposite of hurting the dev. In every situation he's getting more money than he would by not sharing

This offer is available until September 7th at 11:59:59 PM (Italian time), so don't wait! Head over to our website now and start shopping. Remember, the discount code SSHA2A0923 is your ticket to big savings, but you can use it only once! HoRNet HA2A is a faithful recreation of a very famous opto compressor made of tubes, transformers and a very peculiar combo of a photo resistor and an electroluminescent panel. We modeled a real piece of gear which is found in the studio of our friend Flavio aka TheBuildzer, we measured the response of the unit, the transfer function, the attack and release behavior and put everything into this new plugin which improves the OPTO model in Multicomp Plus MK2 and recreates the sound of this historical compressor. https://www.hornetplugins.com/plugins/hornet-ha2a/
  22. Sometimes that approach is the best way! With the serials, which ones were separate? Quite a few duplicates from the last version.
  23. Thanks Fleer. I had used the individual installer and it didn't seem to have an option for it. I used their download/install manager and it shows up in there, so I was able to install it via that.
  24. This one is really good. Great for finding some hidden gems in your sample libraries.
  25. Do you recall where from? As in mine it doesn't seem to have them and I couldn't see any additional downloads for it. But I don't own Biotek. I did skim the manual, but otherwise I might need another look!
