Not a bad way to look at it too Brian. A lot of the freebies I already own anyway, but sometimes there are some good ones. Even just a few AAS packs recently were good to get and not bad value for things like that. I have stumbled across some decent articles and inspiration in the past, but I really haven't read enough of them (yet) to make an informed decision on that front.

Although you can get it free through the local libraries, etc. I still opted to buy the 12 month through APD a little while ago. A few really good magazines went under and given these guys offer freebies each month I like supporting them. Hopefully they don't go the same way. Now I just need to get around to reading them all!

Based on that definition which is quite strict, then yes, it might require that (I'm still to install it, but I assume you're correct). But the email / account doesn't have to cost you any money, so it's a lot different to being able to walk into a shop and say here's my email address and just get a guitar, or something for free and not have to part with actual currency, or finance it. A number of us probably already have at least one other of Streaky's plugins, so in that sense it's not requiring anything extra, so I'd say then it could be seen as free. For the record, I prefer no account either, no installers and simple copy/paste of a key/serial at most, but these days a lot of companies are moving away from that. Still some absolute gems that don't though luckily.

Hey Vitling, welcome to the forum and thanks for stopping by and for offering the synth for free! I have been meaning to check it out 🙂 Just a note on presets, even if you're only creating them which I mostly do too, they can be good for archiving in a project. If the project gets corrupted, or a future update of the DAW no longer opens the instrument, you lose everything. If you save the preset then you have more chance of being able to recreate it. It also makes it easier to open up the instrument in another DAW for those that might use a couple of different ones. They are a pretty good thing to include, as whether people ask or not, many people will be expecting them as they're somewhat standard, so it should make your synth more popular.
