Can't change presets in Amplitube 5 when running in Cakewalk?

kyle3108

Question

As title says, when I click the switch on my MIDI foot pedal to change between my presets, nothing happens. This is definitely not a problem with Amplitube or my pedal as when I run just standalone Amplitube it works just fine.

I have a MIDI track that lets me use all of my effects etc, I just can't change between presets.

problem with MIDI drivers maybe? I'm currently using MME for the MIDI drivers.

Does the midi foot pedal show as a device in Preferences/Midi/ Devices?
If it doesn’t then it needs a driver installed. You can check in device manager under game controller ? and see if it is listed.

IIRC AmpliTube is one of the (many) amp sims that doesn't respond to program changes when loaded as a VST3. The VST2 version should work. I believe this has something to do with changes in the VST3 spec, not Cakewalk or AmpliTube.

I can confirm:

In Cakewalk:

Amplitube VST3 does not respond to Program Change Events.

Amplitube VST2 does.

damn, that's a shame was hoping to use this for a gig as it was easier to manage multiple guitars in cakewalk. Thanks for the reply

Any downside to using VST2 rather than 3? may just use that instead.
