As of January 17, dearVR PRO will no longer be part of the MEGA Bundle, or available for purchase on Plugin Alliance.

For our active MEGA Bundle subscribers, you will receive a free full license of the Dear Reality dearVR PRO. This will ensure that you can continue to access and use dearVR PRO even after its removal from the MEGA Bundle. The legacy installer will be available to download for MEGA Bundle & dearVR PRO users on our Plugin Alliance website. Please note that the latest version of the plugin is now considered a legacy version and is discontinued, therefore will no longer be maintained.

In order to activate your Full-License, simply re-activate your current dearVR PRO plugin by following our usual activation steps whenever you purchase a new plugin from us.

As long standing partners with Dear Reality since 2017, we want to assure you that we will continue to sell and host the dearVR MUSIC plugin, and we look forward to further collaborations with Dear Reality in the future which are currently in the works!

For those interested in Dear Reality’s new version of the plugin, dearVR PRO 2, you can check it out on the Dear Reality website now. We will also be hosting a very special PA_EXT sale for MEGA Bundle users and current owners where you will have the opportunity to acquire dearVR PRO 2 at a special price! Be on the lookout for an email with more details coming your way soon.

If you have any questions or need assistance with the transition, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team at Plugin Alliance. We are here to help and ensure a smooth transition for you.

I'm happy I spent one of the free picks on it for being subbed on Mega... not

It seems not good to buy the separate PA licences of third parties from PA as they would stop the upgrade soon.

edit:   I guess the other time this happened was with Gig Performer.

Both of these companies charge a lot more than outside PA for the update, making them cost prohibitive to upgrade - so I'm not sure that avoiding buying via PA does the consumer any good.

I think I remember someone mentioning on this forum that Dear Reality had some restrictive licence practices/methods on their own, so with that in mind, I think I'll cut my losses and not upgrade (plus 80 bucks for an upgrade [of its scale] is kinda meh anyway).

Yep,  agree.  Got $20 code but still awaiting the upgrade code.

At least you'll know cost before deciding.  Unlike Deskew in upgrading GP4!

It seems I get it for free, got serial and download. I can't recall exactly, but back aways they sent out instructions to upgrade from a PA purchased product and have it put in your account at dearVR. I can't recall exactly which product it was but I'm thinking it might have been dearVR PRO, I have all of them so . . . I'll go back through my emails and see if I can uncover anything, that's the only reason I can think of why I might have got this for free now.

Are you sure that wasn't for "Monitor" instead of Pro?

I guess they ran into the same concerns that we did. But just to be clear, we don't charge a lot "more" ---- we charge the difference between what people actual paid. For example, if someone bought GP4.5 from PA at full price, then there is NO charge to get the latest version directly from Deskew even though it was a significant upgrade. If they paid $99 for it at PA, then they get a $99 discount for the cross-grade, etc.

It's not that we charge a lot more, it's that they were charging too little!   We are very appreciative that so many PA users did recognize the value inherent in GP and moved over.

With all due respect, this was not explained when contacting support.  I was simply told to provide my PA purchase receipt and purchase GP4 from Deskew at full price, then and only then would it be calculated what was owed and then I would be refunded.  Pretty poor CS to expect people to buy a product without knowing the final cost and then telling them to go ahead and buy at full price and "we'll refund you something."  Why not just tell them your discount is $99 dollars and here's your code to adjust at purchase?

I'm sure you have plenty of feedback that $169 is a tough pill to swallow for many of us that just fiddle around with opening some VSTs with low latency outside a DAW

I'm glad I got v3 and v4 at a heavy discount, but personally wouldn't pay any more for it due to the value I personally get out of the product.

Thankfully TONEX now has a pedal form (in addition to the ITB) and for me this dramatically decreases the need for a real time VST loader.

You could be correct. I have found the reason to the mystery. I purchased the update from Studio One 5.* Pro to Studio One Pro 6 for a mate to keep us eye to eye, and after talking with him about this and saying I wouldn't mind getting it, he did the deed. 😲

With the same respect ( 😀) the cross-grade pricing is clearly documented on our website on the cross-grade pricing page

Sure - you wouldn't spend $250,000 on a Rolls Royce if all you wanted/needed  was to be able to drive to the supermarket occasionally.

We developed GP for the professional market where musicians who perform in clubs, theaters and even arenas  not only recognize and appreciate the available functionality which goes far beyond low latency but also the continued enhancements and the value of the support we provide.

Lots of inexpensive and indeed free plugin hosts out there for those who  just want to "fiddle around" and don't need all the functionality.

Not quite clearly and support would only direct me to buy the full program to see (paraphrase). I paid $44.99 for GP3 and $79.99 for the upgrade to GP4. Is my discount $44.99, $79.99, or $119.98?  🙂

My apologies to Kirean for derailing this thread!  I opted not to upgrade to legit DVR Pro 2.

You must have reached out to support before we were able to setup the coupon process

Regular customers paid $159 for GP3 and then depending on when they had bought GP3, there was a sliding scale from about $39 to $119, which is the current upgrade price from GP3 to GP4.  Those deeply discounted prices were one of the reasons we terminated our relationship.
If you bought GP3 after June 2021 (which is when GP4 was released) then you'd get a $99 discount, otherwise you would get a $79 discount. Please understand that GP 4.7 (despite having the same major version number) was a very significant upgrade, not a minor enhancement and a few bug fixes.
