Freezing a Track saves silence, when its ouput is a solo'ed bus

Recommended Posts

When you create a track 1 (e.g. using TTS-1), put some MIDI notes in there and then add a Bus "D" (which outputs then to Master).

Then set the outout of that track 1 to  Bus "D".

Then SOLO the Bus "D"

Play back; You hear the output of TTS-1

Then freeze track 1.

=> the created waveform is pure silence, although its routed to Bus "D" which is SOLO and although playback works for it...

See in this example project:

Next I followed what I thought would be intuitive based on my inexperience with freezing:

  • soloed the instrument track (which automatically soloed the midi track).
  • froze the instrument track.
  • saw the waveform and listened to the rendered audio now on the instrument track.

Yes, I also noted the soloing the instrument allowed it to freeze properly, but it shouldn't be necessary. As noted, freezing with the instrument outputting to a a soloed bus worked in the last release of Platinum.
