Why does everything have to be so complicated?

It would also be an interesting research project to see how many threads have only 1 post from the OP!

If it was Facebook no one would notice

But-they did return the next day which implies they read the posts from April the 3rd , got what they wanted and disappeared probably forever to become a classic one post wonder.

Ah yes, the days in a tape based studio. It only took 30 minutes of prep to load the tape machine, bias it, record align it, splice a leader, then record arm. Set up mics & headphones & chairs, set levels, buss everything through the console, then remember to hit record. It was sooo instantaneous. SMDH.

Why are you skipping the amount of time and money buying multiple reels until you found one that sounded good?

The "time investment" required for learning is often overlooked, but always something to keep in mind especially when the product is complex. I hope the OP took a step back to focus on this.

Does remind me of a really old joke though... a man storms into a hardware store with his new saw and demands to see the manager because it is garbage. The manager calms him down and offers to take a look at it for him to see what is the matter. The manager picks it up, starts the motor, and the man asks, "What's that??"
