  1. I think this is a good deal as it gets you going with THE ORCHESTRA for a nice price and you get a break on upgrades. However, one should remember that Black Friday is coming soon, and everything from Sonuscore will be 40% off. Just to be clear, this is not a limited edition of the first edition of THE ORCHESTRA. The original THE ORCHESTRA doesn't include STRINGS OF WINTER, and HORNS OF HELL. They are only in THE ORCHESTRA COMPLETE 2. So I think it's better to think of this as a limited edition of THE ORCHESTRA COMPLETE 2. You're not going to get everything that's in the original THE ORCHESTRA, but you will get some things that aren't included. But as Sonuscore added more strings and brass, it's possible or likely that they will add a woodwinds expansion to THE ORCHESTRA COMPLETE 2. I wonder if you'll just end up having to pay more for a new version of Essentials when that comes out.
  2. The Ronroco is only $19. 67% off.
  3. Picked Acoustic is one of my favorite libraries in Komplete Ultimate, so I got this. My calculation is that I got it for $75 with the voucher and I'll try to sell it for $50 when I upgrade. That has worked out on all the libraries I've bought early but Mallets Flux, and there's always the possibility that it will sell someday. My first impression is that I still like the original Picked Acoustic more. I did a piece recently, and I could have used either one, but I went for Picked Acoustic. But that may just because I know all the libraries on that one so well. There are some new things in the Nylon that are really inspiring and I know I will be making some music with it.
  4. Actually, not to get everybody mad at me, but there might be a chance they don't enjoy being referred to as "plugins."
  5. I just want to mention that some women come to this forum.
  6. I started 30 minutes in because it's such a looong video. But I put a lot of work into it so I'm happy if people want to watch it all, 😀
  7. UVI. EastWest Play. Orchestral Tools Sine. Best Service Engine. Recent Spitfire. Pretty much all other sampled instruments are Kontakt, right? Anyway, check out these freebies: https://vstbuzz.com/freebies/ There's really no kind of instrument that you can't get for free with Full Kontakt. Like, for example, you can't get ALL the world instruments for free. But you can put together a nice collection with freebies.
  8. Right when I was just discovering this forum, I read about Synthmaster going for about $10. But I found out a day late. Since then I've come back to this page every single day. But I have learned that 99% of deals return in time. And in most cases, they even get to be better deals. But RMX for $99! I would have gone for that. You can't find anything much rarer than a Spectrasonics sale. Too bad.
  9. I did a video on EZBass, and while I love so many things about it, the way it is sampled is really weird. To me, it's such a serious fault that I don't think I'm going to buy any more of their basses. Not when there are so many good ones out there. They worked so hard on all the details of EZBass that I can't understand how they could have messed up this very simple thing. This video starts at the right spot to show you what I'm talking about. To me it's just natural to expect a bass to start each string with the open string sound. A lot of other basses are sampled in different ways. ujam basses have an algorithm tsort this out. I have Trilian, MODO Bass, the OTS Evolution Roundwound Bass, Modwheel's the Lowdown, all the ujam basses, so what do I need more basses for? I am curious about Steinberg's Sampled Electric Bass, which samples every note on all the strings and then lets you pick various styles that favor different parts of the fretboard. It excels in the area that EZBass is most deficient. It's $129 and I keep waiting for them to put it on sale, but they haven't yet. https://www.steinberg.net/vst-instruments/electric-bass/
  10. Which ones are you getting? I'm getting LOFI DREAMS and INNER DIMENSIONS. Jason has NKS templates for both of them.
  11. I'd rather have Trilian or MODO Bass without those articulations But the ability to manipulate and edit MIDI data in the program is truly awesome. Not only with their bass MIDI patterns, but with any of the other ones you can get.
  12. I'm waiting for a 6 pack of MIDI expansions. I don't think I'm going to be using EZBass instruments, but this is a great tool to use with other basses.
  13. I DO NOT NEED ANY MORE FALCON EXPANSIONS!!!!! 😡 But I want more. It seems like they've come out with some particularly nice ones lately. I've resisted all the 30% off sales, so this is the time. They are particularly nice when Jason does NKS templates for them
  14. Uh oh. To my memory this is the lowest price I've ever seen for Falcon expansions, aside from the great deal you get when you buy during the Falcon Sale. That big deal usually comes up in early October. Falcon 30% off plus two free expansions and 100 euro voucher. If you wait to spend your voucher until BF, you can do very well.
  15. Phasis (from the Mod Pack) was briefly a free end-of-year gift in 2017. Raum (not yet part of a "pack") was briefly given away as an end-of-year gift in 2019 I'm not aware of any of the three effects from the Crush Pack ever being available as freebies before this. KU13 is the first year they've been in Komplete. (They may have been in Ultimate before this)
  16. I have a ton of his NKS templates. They can take some instruments like XPand!2 and take them to a whole new level. He often gives free or inexpensive updates, which is crazy because this work is extremely labor and time intensive and he is just one guy. The other thing is that Jason has the best customer service you will ever find. I was having problems with an install on a Sunday. He emailed me back immediately and then did one of those things where he took over my computer, until he fixed the problem. You can't find anybody better than Jason at taking care of his customers. One tip with UVI: make sure you install the correct template for either Workstation or Falcon. They are different and one won't work with the other.
  17. On the positive side, if Intel is the only company not cheating, this may make shopping for SSDs a lot easier.
  18. For people who don't have full Kontakt... I have always said that the best first two purchases for anybody starting out are Omnisphere and Full Kontakt. As soon as you have Full Kontakt you have access to hundreds of really great libraries for free. Also, a lot of the very best paid libraries are only available with Full Kontakt. And as people have said, most libraries released since the fall of 2020 require Kontakt 6. The two best ways to get Kontakt are either 1) get it now for $124.50 or 2) get it with Komplete.
  19. There are three new Play libraries included with Kontakt 6, as pictured above: Hybrid Keys, Analog Dreams, and Ethereal Earth.
  20. I keep waiting for them to put the electric bass on sale, but they haven't done it yet. https://www.steinberg.net/vst-instruments/electric-bass/
  21. Gotcha. Anyway, I need to work on my sense of humor. 🙃
  22. From their site: Introducing “RARITIES” – You can think at RARITIES as ten rare collectible cards or as a little game: featuring some of the strangest instruments we came across so far, RARITIES will be a little collection of quirky, crazy and fun instruments to play with.
  23. Aside from intro prices, UVI does 30% storewide sales often, and then isolated sales on certain products for a greater discount. If you sign up for their mailing list, you'll get limited time rebates based on what you bought that year. But even if you buy a ton of stuff, no rebate unless you sign up for the mailing list. There's always a special sale on Falcon in October. That's the time to buy it. Vintage Vault is a really great deal IMHO
