  1. I use the CMusic bari. It's a Kontakt instrument and it offers lots of articulations via keyswitches. They have lots of sales, so wait for a good deal if you are interested: http://www.cmusic.pro/product-cat/saxband/sax-baritone/
  2. I must have touched a nerve with abacab. I was just trying to point out that they are not an 'up and up outstanding company' in all regards. Yes, their business acumen is remarkable, but there is a long history of human resource type problems within B&H. And as slartabartfast indicates, settling a lawsuit without admitting guilt is a standard legal tactic to maintain a facade of innocence. And that particular lawsuit against B&H was just one of many.
  3. You might want to google this phrase: "B&H lawsuits" Among other lawsuits, they were sued by the US Dept. of Labor and had to pay 3.2 million for allegations of discrimination, bias, and harassment.
  4. I have all these mini-paks and I use the Euclid pak the most. It contains a nice funk style called Backbeat Euclid that I have been using recently. I recommend Jamstix HIGHLY - it takes a bit of use to figure it out, but once you see how it works you will never use another drum program. And you can use your favorite drum kits with it too.
  5. I'm a lousy keyboard player so when I tried the demo of Chord Potion last week I knew I had found something useful. It takes your live MIDI keyboard input and transforms it into various patterns that you can then drag into your DAW. There's a wide range of patterns which allow you to specify different patterns for a melody line, chords, and bass. You can check out the demo and other info here: https://feelyoursound.com/chordpotion/ They are also offering a 22% intro discount if you purchase before April 14th (so you'll pay about $39). It only took me a few minutes of playing with the demo to convince me to make the purchase. It's a lot of fun if you cannot play well. It's not a one finger chord player like Cthulhu - but if you know how to play basic chords you'll find it can really enhance what you can get from your keyboard.
  6. Snaps Claps Slaps Stomps & Shouts - not sure if these are the same ones, but they are free: https://redroomaudio.com/product/snaps-claps-slaps-stomps-shouts/
  7. In the last year or two, someone had a very similar sale (VSTbuzz?) with three of these guitars for $99. I bought them, fooled with them a bit, and have hardly touched them since. I use Ample guitars all the time (and I also like AAS Strum GS-2), but I just found these guitars to be awkward to use. Sound is nice, but if you have some good guitars already, these may not be anything to get excited about. Like someone mentioned, a demo is sorely needed to see if these fit your workflow.
  8. I wonder if this looper can do what she is doing:
  9. I've read of too many issues with the Kontakt 6 player affecting Kontakt 5 systems, so I will wait for the NI summer sale to upgrade to Komplete 12.
  10. Can you choose which items you want to install? (I want to avoid the Kontakt 6 player.)
  11. I usually love Rigid Audio stuff, but I found Aquiver to be a bit disappointing. I only got it last night, but as I played through the various patches I found most of them rather annoying. (Their demo seemed to sound much better!) I'll give it another go this weekend - maybe I'll hear it differently. Of course, for less than $5 I can't really complain...
  12. Same here... I must be getting old cuz I rarely reach for a traditional synth anymore - and I too have a lot of them. Nowadays I prefer something more like the AAS stuff or Ample guitars/basses or orchestral stuff.
  13. 2 tenors and a baritone? Seems like an odd grouping...
  14. This is a wonderful program and at $15 it's truly a deal! It's one of those programs where you just hit the randomize button and you play and play. And then you hit the randomize button again and play again... and then you realize the whole afternoon has gone by. 2 things to be aware of - you really need to have 16GB RAM and do not hit the random button again till the current patches are fully loaded. (The manual warns you about when you should hit the random button.) I had purchased Abstrung a few months ago when it was on a deal, and now having Aerkord is a wonderful compliment to Abstrung's sounds. Highly recommended!
  15. I like Rigid Audio's products - they give you a lot of quality sounds for very little cost. Cinematrix for $4.99 is a lot of fun - it has a lot of interesting sounds in a 4 part engine. And it has a randomize feature (for extra excitement!).
  16. Alter-Ego is a great freebie - just don't expect it to sound like a real person. And NATA is a nice addition to Alter-Ego. These are 2 freebies that should be in the kit of anyone who is looking to add a unique touch to a tune. To put it simply, Alter-Ego lets you assign text to a melody to have it sung. Besides Nata, there are other free voices available. You can use it to playback a melody in a composition or you can jam live and it will play whatever text you have entered. It's easy and it's fun!
  17. I got this when it first came out and I have to say it's wonderful. It's got a quirky personality so if you want a guitar that has a different vibe I can heartily endorse this. They did a fantastic job sampling this instrument - it sounds like I am playing - I can hear the vibrations of the body. It has that acoustic/electric clean sound that I really like. For $9 you cannot go wrong! Get it!
