I have no problem with that. But who do I donate it to while here in the middle of the USA? And the people who get it would have to have an old Windows 98se or XP system. I'm still sorting through those boxes I mentioned in my 1st post and I have the install disks for those 2 OS (98se and XP). The XP Home edition is brand new in unopened cellophane. And there's also Office 97, and some brand new, unopened Photoshop Elements for Win 98/XP. I want to get rid of all this stuff. Eye sore to me.

I have a large collection of old PC equipment and was wondering if I should just throw the stuff away, or do people actually want it and I should sell the stuff on Ebay? Adlib - sound card Gamecard III - for joysticks Various LAN cards Wireless Netgear card And many, many other old hardware gear. ------- Then too, I have 2 large boxes of old Win 98 and XP and 7 software Games, games, games, and lots of other interesting things (Talking dictionary, Phone # directory of everybody in the USA). Most in their original box with manuals and disks. Should I just pitch this stuff or try to sell a grab bag box full of things to the highest bidder? It will give me much needed empty space on my shelves.

One thing I miss was having the MIDI footprints buttons on the Staff View, to move the timeline forward or backward and play the next MIDI note(s). A solution was offered (cannot remember from who) that kinda worked, but not really. You have to go into a menu and turn something on to use it, but it really did not work well. The program gets confused. Bring back the MIDI footprints.

Correct. The MIDI and Karaoke tracks you can purchase online do a great job of utilizing the same instrument tracks as the original, BUT you have to evaluate them for yourself before buying. Some are really bad. The companies selling these files always have a short sample of the file you are buying so you can listen to and evaluate it. Some companies have several files of the same song, created by different production companies (some are better than others), and then too, I have found I had to buy more than one of the same song, and cut & paste parts out of one and paste into the other. One song sounded better overall, but lacked the detail of other parts. So I had to buy 2 files and work on it manually to make it sound better. Here are a couple of pay sites I have used. I think about getting rid of my gear all the time, but the reason is due to present circumstance (for about 30 years running). I don't think society is at all sophisticated and intelligent enough to appreciate "good" music. Yeah, there are some, but reaching "them" in particular is probably never going to happen since the movers and the shakers of the music industry have all decided to throw their praises and trophies to the Rap/Hip Hop industry, and the buying masses go along for it, which says it all as far as I'm concerned. But... and this would be a miracle... if I go ahead and release my music, perhaps it could be the fire that will change the direction of the industry. And then on another sour note, I struggle to proficiently play some of my own compositions. My head-turners require a hired gun to play them without mistakes, and that bums me out. My arms want to fall off halfway thru a few of my own compositions and there are some runs that I just don't have the wherewithal to play them without mistakes. No matter how many years of practice, I just cannot break a ceiling I have in my piano proficiency. 'Makes me want to cry.

No help, Jay, but who told you that Kontakt does not benefit from the fast NVMe drive? Why would Kontakt not benefit from it? Nevermind. I see your other thread where you got that info.

Well there's your first mistake.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the piano repair/tuner I had a couple days ago. You may have read on another forum here that I had purchased the tools to start learning and tuning my own piano. I dropped the heavy tuning hammer (the name of the tool) inside the piano and it broke off one of the hammers (the pads on wood that hit the strings). What a drag. So it's been sitting "broken" for 4 months and I finally made the call to someone. He came by on Monday and picked up the hammer (with a piece of the shank still in it) and removed the broken shank (i.e. short doll stick, or long peg) and went home with it. Brought it back Tuesday and put it together and tuned the piano. He actually admitted that he goofed and drilled the hole in the hammer bigger than it should be when he drilled out the old piece of shank from the hammer. So I hope it will hold up with all the playing (banging) I do. It's the lowest F#2 note. When done I said "How much?" He said $100. "Huh?" He had quoted me $75 for tuning, and I expected quite a bit more for the repair. I was prepared to pay $200 to $300. This is when he told me about the hole problem with his drilling. Anyway, I told him that was too little and wrote a check for $125. I had to wait a day for the glue to dry, and decided to wait 2 days. It plays great and I am very pleased with the tuning. Sounds fantastic. He told me he used to tune by ear before the electronic tuners, which made me very happy because he brings along with himself all that old school know-how, which I have read about and want to learn for myself. One step closer to being able to record some of my stuff and let your guys hear something quite original. No singing.

And while you can go inside and still buy chips and candy, all the coffee machines, hot chocolate machines, icy and soda machines are turned OFF. I forgot to check, but I'm sure the hot doggers are all off, too. And no donuts! The donut case was cleaned and lights turned off. Guys! I'm going bonkers! Jon, the anti-virus suggestion applies to me. I had not turned that off before running the patch. But regarding uninstalling my Sonar Producer .... My Ghost image/restore was a completely clean install of Windows 7 64-bit with a few other programs. I had never installed Sonar on it, so uninstalling before reinstalling.... does not seem like that would be the culprit. I have all the Sonar install files on a separate drive from which I ran the first Sonar X3 Producer file and allowed the install to do its thing. I'm going to try running the patch again in a few minutes, but with Antivirus turned off. I do not have any external audio (thus no bus drivers to uninstall). Lastly, my Command Center does not give me access to installing Sonar Producer. Just 3 things of which only 1 do I qualify to use. Ignoring the Demo Products (Sonar Platinum, CA-2A T-Type Leveling Amplifier, and Rapture Pro Demo) my Connected Products gives me these 3: 30th Anniversary CA-X amps (which I am unable to install) 30th Anniversary Rapture Expansion Pack (which I am unable to install), and Z3TA +2 (which I did install) So I have to use my own Sonar Install files on a different drive. If I have assumed something wrong, please let me know. I can always restore the Laptop and try again. Installing Sonar goes fine, right up until I'm ready to run the X3e Patch. One other thing, that might be the culprit - I might have run some install files twice, because of my not knowing any better. I have in separate folders (Dimension Pro Setup Files and 04_Dimension_Pro_1.5_Expansion_Packs) and ran those corresponding executables which told me it was going to overwrite files with the same name, so maybe that caused a problem. I was uncertain whether or not the expansion packs was something extra I should run manually, or was inclusive to the normal install. I also have a couple of Rapture Free Expansion Packs (1 and 2) that I ran after Sonar had finished. If the X3e Patch fails again with AntiVirus turned off, I will do yet another restore, but will not run the Dimension Pro Setup file again, nor the Rapture Expansion Packs 1 & 2. Maybe running them is the culprit. I'll come back in an hour or so and report the latest attempt.

I've reinstalled X3 Sonar three times today, and am afraid to run the X3e Patch now (which will be attempt #3 when I try again). I want to get everything running on Sonar properly before reinstalling CbB. Twice today, when I begin to run the X3e Patch, it tells me it cannot copy a file that is already in use. Do I wish to Abort, Ignore, or Try Again? I tried the other 2 options to no avail, so finally chose Ignore. It then would go on for a few seconds when it would come up again on another file and ask the same question. 3 times that happened when it then told me I had an unsuccessful install. And to my dismay, Sonar X3a's application file (C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR X3 Producer\SONARPDR.exe) had gotten deleted and the Sonar desktop app icon turned into something else. When I used VoidTools' Everything utility, there was no trace of a Sonar .exe file anywhere. I then restored using Ghost image file (which did not have my Sonar installed) and tried again to reinstall Sonar, which went fine, until the X3e patch. And lastly, Dimension Pro 1.5 registration number I have did not work the 3rd time so that's another issue I have to somehow resolve. This is a laptop with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Also, the 2nd time I tried the X3e Patch, I ran it as administrator but that did not help. Anyone? P.S. I rebooted the PC after X3a was working on the 2nd attempt before running the X3e patch to make sure the system was free of any resources before the attempt. It did not help.

While not technically supported any longer, can people still download and install CbB onto their Win 7 machines or does it not work at all any longer on Win 7? Thanks,

Or is it the brainwashing about taking a bath/shower so that we do not smell bad and offend others? Maybe the brainwashing that we should not steal, or murder? Are those the brain washings to which you refer?

You know the alternative. I already shared it, but the world is so full of hatred against Him, that He and His followers are censored. So all the most important things in life are taboo to speak about. People are willing to be stifled and censored and enslaved. Anything, but God! Anything! If I write again at length my account will be suspended, I suspect.

There was something I wanted to say to this when I watched it. Not that this guy doesn't know what I'm about to say, but there's yet another important piece of difficulty to add that he didn't speak about. That number of possible songs in a 5-minute recording (2 to the 211,000,000 power) is kinda like musicians creating songs from the alphabet structure (AABA) and not venturing past the letter C, or D. Because they restrict themselves to only 3 or 4 letters of the alphabet, 1000 years from now musicians won't have made a dent in that large number. They keep repeating the same "mistake" of not going beyond. And for the past 30 years, almost all music is now just using 2 letters, and sometimes only 1! Don't get me started with grief! lol Crude analogy, but it gets the idea across. To reach the completion of 2 to the 211,000,000 power of songs, musicians need to use all the letters of the alphabet. I'm making this up, but it gets the point across.

To obtain the red text format, the 2010 Excel that I have utilizes Conditional formatting (from the Home tab). But didn't Excel used to allow formulas with color conditioning directly within the formula itself, back maybe in 2003 Excel or perhaps even older? I've been using MS Office since the mid-1980s, but there's no way I remember when changes took place through all those years and versions. But I'm pretty certain that we used conditional formatting directly in the formula in Excel back when I was in Business college in 1990.

Synkrotron hit upon something that I would like to discuss, but I won't. The idea of melody. There's much more that could be taught on that subject than the world understands. Regarding eternal music, and it's intention, you hit a homerun, Starise. The life "under the sun" is of the soul, earthly, fleshly, natural. The life "unto the Son", is capable (but still almost all is not) of being from God's Spirit, and is heavenly, spiritual, supernatural (still uses all the created elements of music - notes, timing, chords, etc., but its origin is from above). If you ever get a chance to hear, it will affect you in a much different way than the music we all love(d) as we grew up. Music that is truly from God's Spirit, will actually minister to you and is FULL OF LIFE and ENERGY. Again, it's not anything like new age music, which is just a different form of soul music.

This might be the most fantastic thread I've seen and watched in a very long time. The 2 videos on the same subject, from the 2 different guys, were wonderful and I watched them both to the end. My own music composition will not fall into this hole because I have something totally new. And I'll have to leave it at that until you hear me live, wherein I will explain a little. But I do have something new and I'm not the least concerned with stepping on others' toes. But this thread has been phenomenal and I've sent the 2 videos to a pal who is listening right now to them.

Man, I really want to know how it fared for those guys
