  1. If it wasn't rendered the edited clip may have been deleted when it was closed. If it was not deleted it may be in a take lane. Otherwise I can usually identify them by name.
  2. If what you want to archive is a Cakewalk project (tracks including audio, midi, automation, FX, etc.), Save Copy As will do that. I added a keyboard shortcut CTRL-SHIFT-S for that.
  3. I don't know anything about AL but, in Cakewalk, dragging any track with a steady beat that follows the songs tempo to the timeline will generate a tempo map for the song. For details on that or other questions you might have, click the hamburger in the upper right corner, Cakewalk by Bandlab and then Reference Guide PDF.
  4. Thanks @scook. That's what I expected but wanted to verify. I'll give up on the VSL BBO for right now. I've gotten accustomed to iLok and hardly ever have a problem with it, but I don't want another one.
  5. I downloaded the free Vienna Symphonic Library Big Bang Orchestra. Is there any way to install their eLicenser Control on my existing iLok? I don't want to buy and maintain a second USB key system. Several weeks ago I sent a support request to the Vienna Symphony Library with the same question but never received a response.
  6. I'm not at my DAW right now but think I can get this right. Select all tracks that you want the plugin to load in (track numbers will be highlighted); pres and hold the CTRL key; while the CTRL key is held, select (left-click) the SSL E Channel plugin in the browser with your mouse and drag it to and release it in the FX bin of one of the highlighted tracks. Release the mouse and the CTRL key and watch.
  7. The plugins you're using and which ones you have open can make a big difference. Your graphics card could be the bottleneck. I had a similar problem and upgraded my graphics card to add OpenGL processing capacity. Now I can mix at lower buffer sizes and with a higher CPU load without dropouts. I use a lot of iZotope plugins that have very useful but processor intensive displays that use OpenGL for graphics processing. Turns out a lot of plugin and some DAW manufactures rely extensively on OpenGL but never mention it in their system recommendations. I like to have several iZotope plugins open at once while I'm tweaking a mix to adjust front to back placement, tonal balance and masking. When I'd do this I'd start getting dropouts, pops and clicks while my 6-core 12-thread CPU was cruising along at 10%-20% load. In fact, Pete Kaine of Scan helped me a lot in trouble shooting the problem in this thread on the SOS Forum. Since you have a Scan DAW, I'd recommend you talk to Pete.
  8. How does Cakewalk recommend that Cakewalk VST plugins be managed? I'm aware that the Advanced Install VST location option has been eliminated (greyed out). See Johathan Sasor's reply to a previous post below. I've updated that registry entry to point to my preferred Cakewalk VST plugin folder. So I think I've got that handled. But, I've noticed that Cakewalk is also installing a lot of VST plugins in two other folders: (c:\program files\Cakewalk\shared utilities\Internal and C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Plugins). So I'm ending up with two copies of a lot of plugins for ones I'd previously installed in my preferred Cakewalk VST plugin folder. Many of these were installed with SONAR Platinum and earlier versions as I'm a long time SONAR user. What I'm currently doing is excluding the duplicate plugins using the Plugin Manager. So far I've got 10 disabled VST2s. PS: Are the Softube plugins that were included in Platinum included in Cakewalk? I noticed that they are on my duplicate plugins list. And is BREVERB not included? It's not on my duplicate list?
  9. Ok, I blindly enabled these excluded plugins just to find out that I had two copies of each enabled. I'm a long SONAR Platinum user which probably explains the copies in my preferred VST folder. What's surprising is where the formerly excluded versions are: c:\program files\Cakewalk\shared utilities\Internal\StPX64\StPX6464.DLL. Is that where Cakewalk by Bandlab installs them? BTW, this thread reminded me reminded me that I had them and that they're still supported. I'd been avoiding them because I assumed that they were no longer supported and would soon quit working. Thanks for the reminder
  10. Also, be sure to untick clip, track and bus automation if any are present unless you want the copied clip to reflect the automation.
  11. This was included in either the 2020.10 or 2020.11 updates.
  12. Me too. The only reasons I visit now infrequently are for the forum or as the result of Google searches.
  13. Thanks. I didn't know about the KVR page. I'd suggest adding ARA 2 to the features list.
  14. I never thought of version numbers as anything other than a way to tell one version from another. CbB has version numbers. The current one is, at a macro level, 2020.11. If you click Help/About you'll see a more granular version number that starts with 26. I'm not at my DAW right now and can't do that to list it here.

    Panning issue

Another name for those sliders beside the output level meter is faders and they move. The audio interface output modules which also can have sliders /faders are to the right of the buses. If you can't see them drag the narrow gray bar to the right of the buses to the left to expose them. Also verify that your audio interface mono button is not depressed if it has one.
  16. Every month when I read the Features Overview of the latest release I am really impressed with new features and fixes. For me right now, Cakewalk has never been better or better supported. And I wonder, how many other DAWs can be better and when Cakewalk will assume it's rightful position near the top. Thank you Cakewalk development and maintenance team!
  17. Thanks. That makes sense. And I got it fixed until the next time I decide to install an X2 plugin.
  18. Yes. Thanks. I apologize. My problem was that I clearly remember being able to use the browse button for VST plugin locations and I can't now. I also realized, that asking an install question in an update release thread is not a good idea. Changing the registry key solved the problem, but the browse button is still greyed out.
  19. Why can't I select a VST folder for 2020.10 EA1or2? What do I do to fix it? This is a new problem. I haven't had this problem before that I can recall. I always use Advanced install. My Cakewalk VST2s are all in the folders I selected in the G:\Cakewalk folder. See GIF below recorded for EA2. I have about 10 VST folders listed most show up in the screenshot below. The one in G:\cakewalk content- x2\vstplugins was added by the X2 installer when I recently added a couple of X2 VSTs.
  20. Thank you! Very helpful! Did I miss that in the documentation?
  21. After selecting "Advanced" install why am I unable to select another VST plugin folder? I've always been able to do that before. Is this something I screwed up by deciding to install a couple of X2 plugins? UPDATE: Don't bother to respond. You've got bigger fish to fry. My question is related to the Early Release, but not related to the great new main feature which is generating a lot of discussion. So I'm just going to skip this early release and hope the problem I'm dealing with, which is new for me, goes away before the final 2020.10 release. If not, I'll bring it up again then.
  22. Thanks. That VST plugin file path does exist along with 10 more. And yes, it's there because I recently installed several plugins from X2 and that's where X2 wanted to put them. I don't think I was given a choice by the X2 installer. My problem is that the Cakewalk 26.10.0.061 installer folder location Browse buttons are all greyed out and I am unable to change the VST path to the location I use for Cakewalk. What do I need to do to make the Browse buttons active as they should be when the Advanced install option is selected? I think the only one I want to change is the VST plugins folder.
  23. I just started install and selected Advanced so that I could pick VST and content paths to match my file location preferences. However, I was unable to select the VST path and stopped there. The path shown seemed odd to me as well. I have three Cakewalk VST folders: G:\Cakewalk\vstplugins_32-bit, G:\Cakewalk\vstplugins_64-bit and G:\Cakewalk\X2\vstplugins. The path the installer was going to use was: G:\Cakewalk Content\X2\vstplugins. I don't have any plugins in the Cakewalk Content folder.
  24. Is there help documentation or tool tips for the Classic Creative Suite? I remember when these plugins were first added to X3, I think that the last line of the plugin description ended with: "For more information, see the Alias Factor online Help" as it does now. I was then and now not able to find any documentation online. I realize that they're pretty simple, but I'd appreciate descriptions of each dial including units, etc if it exist.
  25. Thanks. That's good news. Do you happen to know which chip your Chillblast uses?
