  1. After a fresh install of Windows 10 and Sonar X1 thru CbB apps I'm noticing some strange things, or is it my OCD again?: 1. Cakewalk Utilities Menu has no Theme Editor listing when it has a theme editor 2. Sonar X1 Utilities Menu has a Theme Editor listing when there is no theme editor for it 3. Plug-in Manager lists c:\Shared DXi\Dimension LE\Dimension LE.dll under VST Instruments (VSTi) not DX Instruments (DXi) 4. Plug-in Manager keeps rescanning failed plugins when that feature is unchecked in Options Quote
  2. EDITED: To better identify exported audio clips, request project - track - clip name - [#](#) format, same as MIDI clips. Current: 1. When dragging to export single audio clips, file name reflects ONLY the clip name (#). 2. When dragging to export multiple audio clips from one track, they are bounced together and file name changes to reflect ONLY the project name (#). clips: files: Which is which??
  3. When Gibson took over?? NI probably never be that generous as they occasionally offered big discounts to everyone. Mine was around $125.
  4. Are you still collecting minidumps? If so. for which versions? Thx
  5. Thanks for the links. Would have never found them myself. Despite having original install files and being "Activated" with all presets, my X1 version of Guitar Rig 4 LE has been DOA for some time. Every attempt to fix it thru NI failed. Followed your steps and it's all back. Nice thing about NI is their legacy app support.
  6. All I can say is since going back to Win10 I've had no typing issues.
  7. Was doing this almost daily as well. Especially when older projects contained the older BREVERB. It went thru a series of authorization changes when Gibson "crashed", but it shouldn't crash the entire DAW... Turns out it's in a lot of older projects, so I was constantly using Safe Mode AFTER CbB crashed. Kind of a messy hassle when a more friendly way of handling the issue is possible. So far the current install is an improvement from the last 8 years, so I'm hopeful it will continue to be.
  8. Just had my 1st CbB crash into Background Processes yesterday after a fresh Win10, harddrive reformatted, install using one (1) included, long standing Cakewalk plugin. This was happening almost daily before the new install. It then occurred to me that CbB, and maybe SPlat, are the only versions of Sonar that I've had crash into Background Processes forcing at least a Windows logoff - if not a reboot - to correct. I don't remember Sonar 7 thru X3 ever doing that, at least not as often, but they were also on different OS's. It makes one wonder if there's something inherently wrong going on under the hood with Windows 10/11 or CbB or both. Curious if they're still collecting minidumps on a nearly defunct program. I have 4 since 1/9/24.
  9. Just right-click > Properties and give yourself permission. Been doing that a lot since using Win 10 & 11.
  10. Doing so with the standalone version will negate having to run CbB as admin, tho you may still need to enter the numbers when loading DimPro into a project. https://legacy.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013203/Dimension-Pro-1-5-Invalid-Registration-Code-message-when-using-the-correct-code
  11. Yes but... registration is done internally so there's no phoning home required.
  12. Update: 1. Windows 10 crashed requiring a fresh format & install. 2. All win updates and apps installed. 3. After fixing a few small issues everything is behaving better than ever. Only one small CbB crash (plugin?) and it didn't even fall into Background Processes like it always did before. 4. Only issue with the 2016 laptop is the battery (2nd one) no longer charges completely (holding @20%) and new OEMs aren't available. So far looking like this will be the most stable DAW I've had... but testing is ongoing. If I do go back to Win 11 it will be a fresh Pro install.
  13. FWIW there were several 3rd party skins for D-Pro back in the day, but you can even make your own as the images for both are in a Resources folder.
  14. Yeah I just updated my main post about it. Finally got it to work thru Native Access but it was a little convoluted.
  15. No. Not sure how but I finally got everything reinstalled and working where they should be. Thanks.
  16. After a new Windows 10 install on my old laptop, Kontakt refuses to see the existing Library folders or allow a new one. Every attempt to "fix" this ends with "path invalid", making it kompletely useless.
  17. Right now I can't get Kontakt to see any of my libraries since Windows was reinstalled and Native Access says any folder I point them to is invalid. So it's now defunct.
  18. Are you saying SPlat isn't 100% and will stop working at some point?
  19. Not likely. So enjoy it while you can now. Go to Theme Editor>Step Sequencer>Step Button Also, you can tell Theme Editor to go directly to your favorite image editor when running the setup wizard. Then just double click a Theme image to open it.
  20. Use Theme Editor and change this image:
  21. Not to a specific Marker but you can select Markers as a Snap To landmark in the Snap Module.
  22. My issue with Arturia was solved by a fresh install of Windows... not what you want to hear, but they worked one day and not the next, so Windows (or me) did something to cause it. Several issues were cropping up over time so it was needed. A week getting it all back up and running and now everything DAW and otherwise seems to work a lot better.
