  1. If I have edited your post to get the gist of the problem, it might be something that I have seen. @Wayne Bangert If when have the issue and you then select the same Workspace (even if its "None"), does the correct screen arrangement show up?
  2. Sounds like the butcher jokes from decades (at least) ago. Did you hear about the butcher who backed into the meat grinder? He got a little behind in his orders. Same thing happened to his wife. Disaster! Old jokes don't die, they get reincarnated!
  3. That's how I feel about the whole world--Too Much Confusion. But please don't let it get you down! I had previous versions of Cakewalk's Session Drummer. I don't remember when I got them, but the last time I tried it, it worked. In fact, I started it up to make sure and it's playing right now in sync with a randomized arp pattern in AIR's Vacuum Pro. JMO: If you already have Cakewalk Session Drummer and the Product Center says it's up-to-date, don't worry. Thanks for asking about this. I'm gonna save it and maybe make something out of the test tune I just did.
  4. SampleTank 4.exe dated 6/27/2025 9:51 AM [39,884 KB] works for me based on approx a dozen randomly chosen presets. I used the IK Product Manager to Update and it worked. Not doubting your experiences; just saying its not everyone. Looks like I downloaded Install_SampleTank_4_(4.2.6).zip at 1:00AM my time. It's 693,125 KB. (Hope this helps.)
  5. Not actively using it; probably haven't even played on it in many months (before today); but it boots on my previous Audio PC (Standalone and Cakewalk) plus I can load files and play them. Hope this helps.
  6. Within ST4 I tried it last night with a few MP 2 presets and they worked for me. I didn't do an exhausted test. If you have a handful of favorites, I can check those on my PC if that will help. Clarification: MP 2 CE shows up in my ST4 Browser, MP 2 doesn't. I am not sure if that's because my ST4 library scan paths are not set up properly or another reason. There are hundreds or thousands of presets there. I spot checked about a dozen instruments (one preset in each of a dozen different instruments) and they played.
  7. To be clear, you are only talking about doing this for new users / first time initial installations, right? It would be horrible for me (and possibly many other) if it were reset any place else--including updates and reinstallations.
  8. In the latest Cakewalk Product Center did you move the "Show Add-ons" slider to the right so it's enabled? If so, is Session Drummer in the list on the right side? If so, is there an option to Install it?
  9. Not very often, but I will occasionally check the red virtual led to make sure Windows hasn't put my usb keyboard to sleep (such as after one of those Windows updates that resets my personal power settings for usb devices).
  10. I think another option might be to add some MIDI Tracks and route them to the Instrument, if Kontakt can handle that. (I don't use Kontakt, but I have used CC Data "control tracks" for after-the-fact overdub recording.)
  11. The last time I looked, this was an older product that doesn't include newer instruments and libraries that came out after this product was released. While it might be a good deal for any one who wants this particular bundle of products, consumers might want to conduct some due diligence before purchasing.
  12. A funny thing happened when I was looking online to see if Lenses (the former name for Workspaces) predates CbB. Here's what Google AI says about Lenses v. Workspaces: Hmmmmm.
  13. Yes. I remember reading this at least once over the past year or so. I never doubted that it would be forthcoming and continue to look forward to it. Sorry, I found the post a few days ago, but I didn't bookmark it. I agree 100%.
  14. Based on my personal experience, it is not better, for a number of reasons. Just 2: (1) it's predominantly still various shades of grey, white, and/or black on to of other shades of grey, white, and/or black. (2) the color combinations that work best for my eyes (in the track name field for example) might not be the same color combinations that work best for someone else's eyes.
  15. Not to oversimplify, but the following shows how D can be used to toggle between two views.** **NOTE: I purposely reduced the size of the Sonar window to post easy-to-see screen shots (see above), but for me D toggles between the two each time I press D even when the screen is in Full Screen Mode (F11).
  16. p - - - - i n u m p - - - m i u m Hmmmmmmmm. If this was an intentional marketing strategy (platinum --> premium), I think it evidently works!
  17. I am still hoping that once the new Cakewalk Sonar is firmly established the promise of a Theme Editor will become a priority. As a person with aging eyesight who has explored the uses of color using the CbB Theme Editor to help with visual issues, I feel the benefits of user preferences cannot be overemphasized. Different color schemes might also impact creativity and productivity for individuals who fall within a "normal" range of vision. We were told that there would not be a Theme Editor initially and I haven't given up hope that it is still a possibility somewhere down the road.
  18. UPDATE: For some reason, I cannot get Decent Sampler to work on my PC. However, with other synths Surge XT Effects.vst3 still works on my PC.
  19. I haven't done this in a while, but I definitely had it working. On my PC I have Surge XT.vst3 and Surge XT Effects.vst3. Give me a sec and I'll try it to make sure it still works.
  20. Yup!!! For example, here's yellow: TIP: Try MIDI-OX's Menu Bar > Options > Colors. You can see the default color assignments and you can change them to what you want.
  21. This method has served me well for some of my workflows that primarily use a single monitor with a second monitor as a spillover space for various UI Windows as needed. In addition, I have created some Workspaces I sometimes use when I want a full-sized Console on Mon. 2. For my needs, I like the flexibility to have multiple workflows I can switch among, though I understand the stability of having a single visual layout which works for the bulk of what they do. BTW, I understand issues with aging eyesight. A few years ago, I moved a general purpose 40" TV to my PC (Mon. 1) with a smaller/older computer monitor to the right side with Windows' Display Scaling at 125-175% mostly as a spillover space for UI windows but occasionally for a full-size view (Mon. 2). Not sure something like this would meet your needs, but thought I'd mention it as a possibility.
