  1. Get them to send you an audio click track as a track. They could record the metronome onto a aux track.
  2. Are you using a Positive Grid (BIAS) product? There is a problem with these plug-ins that cause this issue. They have known about it for a couple of years and don't seem to be in any hurry to fix it.
  3. I assume that your talking about Cakewalk. You can get Sforxando right here... sforzando (plogue.com) You can drag soundfonts on to it.

    Zoom R16 Issue

Although, I have never owned or used this machine, I have used similar recorders. I had a look at the documentation for it and there are only 2 Outs ( 1 stereo ). I'm sure that if you want to record more than two tracks at once, you could record them on your Zoom and transfer the audio files into Cakewalk. I don't know offhand how to do it, but I'm sure that there is a way. Tip: take the SD card out of your recorder and put it in your computer, it's way faster than USB.
  5. I've had issues with Schepps Omni Channel before and what cured it was hitting the reset button from the VST Settings section in Preferences.
  6. I think it would be nice to have a button to open the property page of VSTi's the way it is in Track View. Often if you are in Console View you are at work on a mix and it kind of breaks the flow to have to switch to another view to edit a soft synth. Great work!

    Console view Question

What is the quickest / best way to get at the property page of software instruments from Console View? A button might be nice here!
  8. I found my letter! It is the directions on how to clean install Cakewalk. This is from Support (Mike)....... "To completely remove all Cakewalk software from your computer and reinstall it, follow the steps below. Please note that this will remove any effects presets and key bindings you may have made in your Cakewalk software. You can back these up separately if you like, using Utilities menu > Cakewalk Plug-in Manager, Edit > Preferences > Customization > Keyboard Shortcuts and Edit > Preferences > Customization > Colors. 1) Run all Cakewalk uninstallers. This is normally done by utilizing the Add/Remove programs tool from the Control Panel. BandLab Assistant and the previous Cakewalk Command Center also have uninstall options within their respective programs. 2) After the uninstall process is complete, open the Run Prompt. In Windows 7, 8, and 10, this can be done by holding down the “Windows” key and pressing “R” on the keyboard. 3) At the Prompt, type regedit and click [OK]. 4) Click [Yes] if asked to allow the program to make changes to your computer. Important: When you access the Registry Editor, create a backup by going to File > Export. In the Export Registry File window that comes up, make sure “Export range” is set to “All” and that “Save as type” is set to “Registration Files (*.reg)”. It is very important to create a backup of your registry because if you accidentally delete a registry key, there is no undo function. You can, however, double-click on the Registry backup you made above to re-import your registry keys if you make any mistakes. You must re-import your backup (if needed) before restarting your computer. 5) Delete the following Registry keys. If you do not have one of the Registry keys below, simply proceed to the next one on the list. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Cakewalk Music Software HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Cakewalk Music Software 6) Open the Run Prompt again. 7) Copy and paste %appdata% into the prompt and click [OK]. On Windows 7, 8, and 10, the “AppData\Roaming” folder will open. 8) Right-click on the Cakewalk folder and select “Delete”. 9) Open the following directories and delete their contents: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk C:\Program Files(x86)\Cakewalk 10) At this point, you can reinstall your Cakewalk software via BandLab Assistant. Note: Any products from 2015-2017 should be available to install via the previous Cakewalk Command Center, while older programs may need the original install disc. --------- We're actually updating some parts of the program to not rely on the older redistributables, as some of those parts were originally built with those in mind. Now that we're doing quite a bit of cleanup work, that particular issue should not come back in the future! In any event, if you have any questions or need help along the way, please do get in touch and we'll always be happy to help." Good luck!
  9. I think I've had this problem. I solved it by re-installing Windows and everything but I hope you don't have to do all that. A good person from Cakewalk (I think his name was Mike) wrote me a note with instructions, too late for me, and I can't find his instructions. I'll continue to look for them, but it involved the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables. One thing to try might be to Uninstall them all (make sure you write down exactly what you uninstalled) and install the same things from the Microsoft website ( https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads). If it doesn't help, I would write the support and probably someone would give you a few more tips. Let me know how you make out.
  10. A couple of other things..make sure echo is enabled on both tracks. And out of the box ...middle C is the only key that works, on my system, anyway. You could try changing MIDI - Process, to Pass (top right area) and I would think that if the keyboard works, you're good. Change Pass back to Process to go back to InstaChord mode. You got to load some Presets and Press C3 along with C5 and play around pressing a low key and a high key at once. For me, I found that the time it took me to learn this one would have been better spent on my keyboard skills! Good luck!
  11. Hi John. Open up 2 soft synths, InstaChord and another one (that you want to play the sound of). At the top of InstaChord click the DropDown where it says VST2 and select enable MIDI out. The input for InstaChord will be your keyboard instrument. The input for your other instrument will be InstaChord (enabling MIDI out makes this possible). The output should be Master. You'll probably have to read up a bit on how to use this, its kind of different. Good luck!
  12. This very well could be related to the BIAS problem recently discovered by Noel and team, but clicking the track view interleave button a bunch of times on a track with BIAS in the fx bin causes an Unhandled Exception error.
  13. Backup advice will be heeded! Thanks, all!
  14. Hey, it worked! Took a little bit of effort to find how to enable the midi input, but I finally found it. And it works pretty good as far as I am concerned. If I ever need a wah wah for any of my recordings I now know what to do! It beats using the mouse! Thanks all for your info and effort.
  15. Thanks for the info, Jim. I did uninstall both, re-installed just Cakewalk by BL to see if it would work...it didn't. I didn't delete the other folders it left, or look at the registry, though. Cakewalk techs suggested to uninstall and reinstall some Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, which I did, but no luck. At that point I think I had everything so screwed up, I figured I better start over. Hope I don't have the same problem again, but if I do, you might have some questions coming your way!
  16. No, I think this one sends out data depending on where it is. It can tell if it's half open, etc.
  17. Just was just fooling around trying to get it going to see if I could. I got a set of Roland TD11 drums. I noticed TH3 got a bunch of midi stuff and was wondering if I could use the hi hat pedal controller for a wawa pedal, if I had to. I had no luck, but I'm certainly no expert in this. If TH3 is not good, I got the scaled down version of TH2 too. Anybody have detailed instructions how I would go about it, or is it possible? Thanks.
  18. In case anybody's interested in my solution... I got frustrated and wiped the computer clean ....again. I hope it sticks this time.
  19. Thanks Mark, for all the research and advice. Your're a great help around here! No, I didn't think I did any drive compression, and unfortunately it's more than my project, it's affected X3 also. I'm wondering if it's a registry problem. Any good tests you know of to see if an SSD drive is bad.?.. it's probably still under warranty.
  20. Hopefully you'll be rockin' out again soon, Christian!
  21. No, not knowingly, anyway. Is there a way to check?
  22. I've lost my prochannel. Anyone ever have this happen? Actually this is the second time it's happened in the past few months. The first time I just wiped my hard disk clean and reinstalled Windows 10 and Cakewalk (on top of Sonar X3). Now it's happened again and I hope I dont have to go through all that. Already I uninstalled Cakewalk and reinstalled it...no go. Sonar X3 acts the same way, so it must be something Windows related. I also tried the reset plugins. If I try to add a module Cakewalk will crash..Fatal Error mfc140u.dll I sent a mini dump to Cakewalk techs. Any one have any ideas or a solution? Using Focusrite Scarlet 18i8 with an i7-8700 with 16gig. I would think its a pretty clean computer, too, I generally keep it off the internet, except for updates. Thanks for any help.
