  1. I am able to do this all the time. Maybe this will work for you. Cakewalk Preference - Audio - Playback and Recording Start + run > "mmsys.cpl"
  2. It's to bypass the plugins to assist in troubleshooting which one is causing the issue.....
  3. If the c drive is the only space for you plugins that by all means use that. If you have another drive with lots of free space then use that. If you do need to use c drive, just make sure you have plenty of free space therein still. In your case, you will have tons. Merely having the VSTs present will not slow down your PC What will slow down your Cakewalk start up is if you have Cakewalk scan those plugins at Cakewalk start up. I do on demand scans when ever I add new VSTs.
  4. Open a problem project in Safe mode (Hold shift while opening project). This will let you bypass your plugins.
  5. Set Workspace to “None” or “advanced”
  6. Well, that explains why the MIDI track volume slider does not change volume. These particular sliders send CC7 in its attempt to adjust volume. In the case of an default EastWest instrument being configured as a simple instrument track in Cakewalk, you have to use the volume slider of the audio track component to affect volume.
  7. If you manually put in a CC7 event in a controller lane, does the volume of the piano change?
  8. I have made an AutoHotHey script that only starts the NTKDaemonService service when I start Native Access. It also stops the service when I exit Native Access. I also set the NTKDaemonService service to “manual”. Of course, this gets set to “Automatic” every time Native Access is updated. Therefore, my script also sets the NTKDaemonService service to “manual”. Here is the AutoHotHey script #SingleInstance force SetTitleMatchMode, 2 #NoTrayIcon RunWait, sc \\POC config "NTKDaemonService" start= demand RunWait, NET START "NTKDaemonService",,Hide RunWait, "C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Native Access\Native Access.exe" RunWait, NET STOP "NTKDaemonService",,Hide
  9. What have you tried so far? Have you tried different sample buffer sizes. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for your Audio Interface. While you’re at it, you might want to head to the manufacturer’s website to see if there is a later version (Don’t use Windows Update). What are your PC specs?
  10. Yes, true. That is one thing I have done. (actually listed under “System Devices” as a “High Definition Audio Controller” entry)
  11. If it's the slider of the MIDI track you are turning down, and it's not reducing the volume, you need to make sure the synth you are using responds to CC7 events. Many do, but not all. So the question is, which specific VSTi are you wanting to control the volume of, and have you confirmed that this synth does indeed respond to CC7 events?
  12. Is Helix Native's master volume exposed as a automation. Then maybe use Cakewalk's remote control function. See: http://legacy.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=0x20183
  13. You need to create an account here, https://www.bandlab.com Then from the help menu of Cakewalk by Bandlab, select sign in to Bandlab. This will open a browser window to Bandlab. Use your new Bandlab account username and password to sign in. Activation will only occur if you do it from Cakewalk by Bandlab’s help menu. Simply being logged on to Bandlab proir to running Cakewalk by Bandlab is not enough.
  14. Cakewalk by Bandlab.... (or what ever version you are using)
  15. What have you tried so far? Because you say “zero plugins ran” - we can likely rule out plugins. I am assuming you have already tried updating all of your drivers ( video drivers as well as audio interface). I am also assuming you went to the actual websites to check for updates rather than simply rely on Windows Updates or vendor driver managers for this. When the freeze happens, can you still use the mouse? If not, then you might be looking at a hardware issue (maybe graphics card) Also check your CPU temperature. There are many utilities for this.
  16. What are your exact steps you are using in your attempt to get CbB activated?
  17. Have you enabled MIDI in on the Helix Native plug-in (looks like you have as the routing in there) and then created the mapping to volume? Looks like a setting you have to change in the Helix Native plug-in itself, either manually or use a learn function. I don't use Helix Native plug-in, so I can't test.
  18. Select the smart tool (you have the select tool in the screenshots). Then, while holding ALT, click in the sustain (CC64) controller lane where you want the sustain events to be placed. For the values, enter numbers greater than 63 for sustain pressed. Enter numbers less than or equal than 63 for pedal lifted. Some synths require value numbers equal to 0 for the lift.
  19. My MIDIs tracks are never on the grid. What I do if I want to copy, I move FROM a little back from the measure where I want to copy from to capture any events the occur slightly before the measure. Then move NOW the same distance back from where I want to paste, then do the copy and paste. That way, any events the occur slightly before the measure are also copied. They also are placed at the right location relative to that measure. I use a CAL script to move NOW. EG
  20. Open MIDI files in Cakewalk rather than importing them. Then the markers will be included.
  21. If your audio engine is not running, then the arranger will not play out of order. If you are using MIDI only in your project and your metronome is set to MIDI, then the audio engine would not running Check the engine running status in your transport module. What you need to do is either create an audio track, or set your Metronome to use Audio. Do what ever you need to do to get the audio engine to run. Once the audio engine to running, then the arranger sections will play in the order specified.
  22. Here is a good starting point. https://www.cantabilesoftware.com/glitchfree/ As for Nvidia optimisations, not much to be done there as we are dealing with audio. That being said, there are some operations that would benefit from the mere presence of a PCIE graphics card. Some plugins and even Windows rendering itself benefit from a PCIE graphics card (Either Nvidia or AMD). Just be aware of fan noise. If you have an older CPU, then you would definitely benefit from a PCIE graphics card. There are some other tweaks specific to Cakewalk. In preferences | Audio | Configuration File try adjusting the following: EnableSetThreadIdealProcessor = False MixThreadCount = {number of cores minus 1} DropoutMsec=-8 You might like to exit Cakewalk by Bandlab, go to the following folder and make a copy of the AUD.INI file before doing this: %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core It also goes without saying. Keep your Windows fully patched and all drivers up to date.
